Great video Jared. There is nothing like watching video of our sambar deer except for being out and watching them in person. I hunt sambar but watching them undisturbed is just a joy. Well done and thanks for sharing! 🙏
Haha I'm glad I realised in time and fixed it 😄 but yeah thank you mate, really appreciate that. And yeah walked in to about 10-15meters away, and since the wind was going the right way and I wasn't moving, they just couldn't see me at all for about 15 mins or so. Was awesome fun being so close to them 😁
Nice one Jared , love it . 2 weeks ago I came across a samba just 10 meters away . since the wind was in my favour he was not able to smell me at all .
Awesome mate, it's a pretty amazing feeling being so close to them hey! It's crazy as well how they can even be looking straight at you but if the wind is right and you're not moving/making noise, then you're almost invisible to them. They figure it out eventually lol but in the meantime so much fun ☺️
@@NaturewithJared there really is next to no informative videos on strategies with sambar. Typically how you showed the area and what your plan was, you’re onto something there 👌🏽
Thanks so much mate, and yeah I think so too, thought I'd try and share a bit and maybe help people know what they're missing so they might get out more 😊
Thanks so much mate 😊 and yeah really sorry about that, it stopped working for a bit but thankfully got it fixed again. Glad you enjoyed the video though, I'll keep trying to make more wherever I can 😁
Well done on the video and your appreciation of the bush and the deer that are part of the landscape added to its attraction pitty these clowns pushing the culling of them in the high country can’t work out there benefits out way any so called negative impact deer have to the landscape
Thank you Scott, really appreciate it mate 😊 and yeah absolutely, I get that it's a complicated issue, but arial culling seems like such a waste. The deer are here to stay, so hopefully we can learn too manage it all better. In the meantime, enjoy it however we can hey 🙏😊
@@NaturewithJared so correct what would the high country be without the added attraction of deer hunting o disappointing that the government take advice of those that would have every introduced animal removed from the landscape but the most invasive species humans 😃
Hi Jared, loved your video mate, I’m pretty new to hunting and I reckon we share similar ethics, having not grown up hunting it’s such a difficult thing to learn fresh by yourself, I’ve shot 2 sambar and am hunting most weekends really putting some hours in. There’s so many little things I’d love to ask and learn from someone experienced, it’s a long shot but would you be willing to do a guided hunt with me? paid of course! We can even leave rifles at home and just see some of these beautiful animals, let me know if you’re interested!
Good morning Allister 😊 thank you mate, I really appreciate your feedback, it's extra motivating to get out and make more videos. And yeah I think something like that could be really fun 😊 if you want to shoot me a message at naturewithjared@gmail.com then we can swap details and organise a phone chat. I think it's awesome you're putting in the hours getting out there giving it a go and learning, and awesome you've had success like that already! There's so much to learn mate and I'd be happy to help if I can 😊🙏

Awesome stuff, very informative as someone aspiring to hunt in Victoria.
Thank you mate, I'll try and make more soon 😊
The antler growth cycle varies because they can rut at any time unlike other species.
Thanks Dan, I hadn't actually thought of that, but makes sense!
