    Very few understand or explain gas fees. I'm glad u brought that up. This is why new networks are coming out.

    The fact that its teaching genetics and mathematical statistics… and that it was one of the first games/assests to introduce Hidden value in matching the right pairs. I’ve locked myself out of my wallets and I still don’t regret the money spent, I would pay for a game like this even without the potential for gains.

    Hey Johnny!
    Yeah I'm all in for crypto kitties, don't have any yet though.
    Congrats on getting into the NFT art world & selling some art you've made! I'm in the process of creating an NFT myself. Its a representation of some functional glass art that I've made. I'm sure the gas fees are going to be ridiculous lol.
    Hope you have a great day, man!

      Thanks so much for the kind words, and good luck with broadening your scope and getting some NFT art made! Glass art sounds very interesting! I've since watched a few really cool videos on how to get better gas fees, ie. historically best times of day and best days of the week to make transactions, gas tokens (I think that's the name) and a few other tips. Regardless it's just fun to get in. Good luck with everything, and please let me know if you pick up tips or learn anything along the way! Cheers!

    I have 65 CryptoKitties, I was locked out of metamask for a while because I couldn’t find my secret phase, now I am thinking it is fun but risky because it’s so easy to get locked out of the wallet. I did breed some “mewtations”lol and that felt so rewarding.

    I am right there with you! I heard about CK back in 2018 and I was like, nope, I am too dumb for that. Thanks but no thanks. Now I am trying to get my first kitty, and the gas prices are prohibitive as heck. It's going to cost me about $100 US to get my first two kitties and have them breed a kitten.
    Hardly cheap, for something that I can't actually possess. But, I will keep an eye on the gas prices, I guess and see if there is a kitten in my future.

    • @JohnnyFiacconi
      @JohnnyFiacconi  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, I hear you 100% -- gas prices are insane, and even as ETH increases, the cost per kitty kinda stays the same, so it's just costing more and more to get in at every angle! Not sure if buying kitties directly from the CK website is more expensive than buying kitties from OpenSea, but might be worth seeing if the gas prices are any cheaper on OpenSea.
      Definitely keep me posted if you come across anything cool in the CK scene, or if you have any further thoughts! Cheers, and thanks for taking the time to comment!

    haaa yess I was so drawn to the Crypto Kitties thing too! So funny- I felt the same with the gas fee- I was annoyed but then got stubborn and was like "I have to do it anyway". Congratulations on selling your own art! I've been looking into that too- is it hard to mine it? Or whatever the terminology is

    • @JohnnyFiacconi
      @JohnnyFiacconi  3 года назад +1

      haha yeah, when it came to gas fees, I was like "well, either I bite the bullet, or I don't" -- and here we are! Thanks re: my art sale. I think it was a total fluke, but still fascinated and grateful that it happened. It's not hard to get your own art on an NFT Marketplace. You can use your MetaMask account to start a profile on OpenSea.io or Rarible.com -- from there, it's really easy to mint / sell your artwork or project. You can also set your "royalty" percentage...meaning any time your artwork is re-sold after your first sale, you'll get a royalty...forever. Worth looking into imo! Let me know how it goes

    great video!, lol the breeding kitties sounds cool!, can't wait for NFT's to be implemented in iOS or something. really interested in NFT's that have functions to them but haven't found much info. Curious but I've just been interested in how people would collect them and show them off or actually use them other than in a market place. Alex Gray's and A$AP Rocky have some really cool art pieces and I like what grimes is doing. but theres gotta be more possibilities. Maybe a super rare IG filter or something idk

      Hey Josh, thanks for the comment! Yeah, we're still in such relatively early stages it seems. Gary Vee has a lot of great insights as to where the NFT technology will go, and how people might "flaunt" their NFT assets. He speculates that people's public NFT wallets (like MetaMask) will be connected to lots of things, and people will be able to see what assets you own. Imagine, you buy tickets to a concert of a small local band-- the ticket is issued to you as a unique NFT token, sent directly to your unique MetaMask wallet address. After the show, your "ticket stub" will be the digital NFT! People will be able to see that you were at that show...and you might be able to connect with other people who were at that show! Imagine that the local band you saw that night ended up becoming the next Coldplay 5 years later....someone might put a value to your NFT ticket stub if you chose to resell it. Sorry for the long post! It's fascinating where this might go... Cheers!

      @@JohnnyFiacconi Haven’t stopped brain storming since I’ve watched this video!, the ticket stubs 🎫 sound awesome especially remembering the death metalbands I used to see and their cool designs. I still go to my apple wallet and look at them - remembering the good times lol- Thanks!

    Ethereum has ridiculously high fees on transactions. As you said, you really have to hold long term for it to be worth it in relation to the fees. Tokens like theta though, much lower fees. ;) Oh yeah

    • @JohnnyFiacconi
      @JohnnyFiacconi  3 года назад +1

      Johnny Fiacconi It’s quite the project, has to do with sharing internet bandwidth with other users on “Theta Tv” which is a new decentralized video streaming platform.

    Which app do you use to create your digital art? . . . from what I gather, artists and photographers build a reputation in the crypto realm in the same way they do in the real world. Their work becomes collectible because they have built their name, have a background, and seem to have a good future as artists and/or photographers. I watched quite a few of Noe Alonzo's videos. He's great. He has two channels I think: one about his photography and one about crypto art.

    • @JohnnyFiacconi
      @JohnnyFiacconi  3 года назад

      Hi there, thanks for the comment -- I created my digital art in Adobe Photoshop, and then minted some on OpenSea, and one on Rarible. You're absolutely right about artists building their reputation. That is, no doubt, the way to do it. I honestly feel like my NFT sale was a TOTAL fluke, and someone sent a low ball offer thinking I wouldn't accept it at a loss...but I did (for the experience!) -- regardless, I hope to build my RUclips channel here over the years, and perhaps the NFTs that I minted and haven't sold might get scooped up by people who believe in me as a content creator and/or musician. I think that NFTs will be used as investments in people. Fascinating stuff!!
