You should probably get a full face helmet. Those type of helmets won't protect your mouth/face if you fall and only protect your head of you fall directly on top of you head which you never will.
Toe side was easier for you because of foot placement. If you watch you have both feet with toes off board. Keep toe and heel evenly off each side. Float on my friend
Thanks, Gill! That’s a great tip. So far I’ve found the most comfort with toes off in the back and heel off in the front. Back foot at basically 90 degrees and at half way point on the pad. Front foot at 45 deg across pad. Seems to give me the most mobility and recovery ability. Thanks for watching, and keep the tips coming!
I just got mine yesterday and I look exactly like you in this video. You saw you've already seen improvement in the last couple weeks? that gives me hope becuase I thought the same thing you did man everyone looks so stable and easy haha.
It takes plenty of practice and pushing yourself to learn, but it does become quite intuitive and builds on itself very well. Congrats on the new purchase! I look forward to hearing about your progress! Don’t forget that safety gear 🤓👍
I use a gopro hero9 with the 3-way 2.0 tripod, a canon rebel t7 with smallrig selection tripod (I can’t remember the exact model name), and the drone shots are from the DJI Mini 2. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
You got it! Based on another commenters suggestion I also ordered some rail guards so I’m going to wait to have both and do a video for the installs. Thanks for watching!
@@baileyanderson2166 we gotta make due with what we have lol. It was the only thing around that served that purpose. Abandoned mill sites are great for that 😉
I have never ridden an EUC, but they look fun! I imagine they use similar technology. Why? I’d say for the same reason both skies and snowboards exist. Now that I’m more practiced and comfortable on the onewheel it feels very similar to snowboarding.
Nice video Dan. I really want one of these boards, and I am sure I would be fine on it, but my wife insists I will kill myself on it. I am 59, and in very good physical shape, and stay very active. Always loved to snow ski, snow board, and scurf board on the water. I get her concerns, and can’t say the thought of a hard fall could do me in for awhile. That being said, it sure looks like fun.
Thanks, Jeff! Hard falls are definitely a possibility! I’ve already experienced one myself which I discuss in my next video coming out tomorrow. It all depends on how far you push it really. It’s absolutely a blast though. It’s very much like snowboarding on dry land.
Don’t listen to him, ride how you want 😂 plenty of people choose not to use rail guards and they actually contribute to the motor over heating on the GT
👍👍 probably one of best first time on onewheel videos I have seen
Amazing video! definitely gonna follow all your journeys
Thanks! I’m excited to share some of the rides and skill building!
Buddy I can't wait to hear / see more videos and experiences from you from the GT. Don't make me wait so long ^^
Won’t be too long! Shooting tomorrow for the next one!
No bend in the knees, but you'll be shredding in no time. 👌💯
I agree! I already cringe at how wobbly and nervous I was on this first ride lol. Im excited to show my progress in the next video!

Hey great video, which cameras tripods are you using

Barefoot it with no fender, kidding you, your doing fine, subscribed so i can watch you progress, will get me one,no reason for you to have all the fun
Tetanus anyone?
I hear that! It was a great open slab of concrete with plenty of space to fumble around… and only a slight risk of life altering disease.

is this like an EUC but sideways? why?

Good video. But always put on rail guards before you ride. Protect your board.
I appreciate the tip! I’m still new to the scene, so Feedback is always welcome. I’ll look into some guards!
