Wow Lee that yellow paint looks fantastic with the yellow wheels, such a pretty GT40 this one 🤩👍, thanks so much for sharing buddy, Peace , respect and stay safe, Ben
I have mine from when I was a kid, and I'm looking forward to restoring it. You Did a fantastic job with yours my friend I'm hoping mine turns out just as nice. Looking forward to seeing everyone's GTOs, everyone does a great jobs with their cars so I know they're all going to be badass. I really enjoyed the shot of all three of your Restorations my friend, well done.
one of the 5 roadster GT40s is here in Boulder, Colorado at the Shelby American Collection. I've seen it several times. :) I enjoy your history lessons, too!
So cool that GT40 became. I myself have a white and a yellow lying somewhere in the hides. I like to see when you make these little wonderful cars for brand new. Lovely colors and as much time and soul as you put into each project. Continue like that. I am watching your videos with pleasure. Sincerely. a viewer from Sweden.
Really nice I did a custom with a hotwheels because i haven't a matchbox, i would like to have one, good restoration, regards from Mexico, scuderia73 wheels are the best, im distribuitor of them in Mexico City
Nice! I had no idea that Lesney released these in yellow. I guess you learn something new everyday, even at my (our) age! (You can read that as, I really enjoy your narrated history lessons!)
Wow, that's nice work. I'm doing the exact same model right now, but keeping it in white. I'm new to the hobby and picking up great tips from you. Thanks. New subscriber!
Hey Lee! That little toothpick you found inside the chassis of that car, thought maybe you might have come across one of the Dead Sea Scrolls. I think this is much better than going back to a stock restoration
Yellow is hard to spray. It does have a tendency of pooling, hence discolouration. Spraying thin, light coats helps the paint hold on better evenly, avoiding pooling.
I agree with some others - try a roadster mod next time (in blue?) . And if it is not a factory resto, you can paint the head and tail lights as well - Love the GT 40 - Had to be my favorite MB car - which a brother threw into a pond at an Ohio Turnpike rest stop.
Turned out beautiful, love your perfectionism, I have an original yellow one and am torn between resto or not. I do want to make one of each variation, plus a custom, so I have some fun and work ahead, thanks for the video.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻☮️
Very nice, the yellow looks really good on that casting. Can you tell me/us where you purchased that UV light? I use one to find dust and lens separation on some of my camera lenses and yours looks like a good one.
Not sure how you want to choose names for the 3 gt40s. I mean to saw from which pool of names the random generator picks. If it is from here...here is my name. Ps. Nice work. I've never seen a wire wheel variant...Or a yellow gt40. Ive had a couple in the past as well as one in very similar condition on my shelf. So...therebya go.
I'm curious as to why the wheels on the front and back one side looked like it had a hub cap on it and the other side didn't? Is that because you had to deburr the end of the axle to get the axle off? I'm pretty new to watching your video's and I've been trying to figure out some of the tools you use to do your work. Is there anywhere I could go to maybe see a list of the tools you do use? Thank you Fredit
Looks great in Yellow Lee 😎💪🏼👍🏼

Nice Job Lee! Looks great as usual!

Great result. I’m about to start restoring a similar model.
Excellent job Lee. Thanks for sharing your hobby.
One more example of a tasteful restomod. Welll done!
Wow Lee that yellow paint looks fantastic with the yellow wheels, such a pretty GT40 this one 🤩👍, thanks so much for sharing buddy, Peace , respect and stay safe, Ben

Great job. like the yellow.
Excellent job! Thank you for sharing the photo of the roadster.
This is one of my favorite cars, you certainly did it justice. 👍
The paint matches the wheels nicely!
I like the yellow colour with the yellow matching wheel hubs. Very cool.
A pleasure to watch ! No quick fixes from you Lee , always a thorough restoration/ custom 🚕
Great job Lee, back to new. 👍👍

The yellow looks absolutely fabulous.
The shot of the three cars together was a great idea ~ all the same, but different.😁

Dougie.

The yellow car is the best looking of the three in my opinion. Not disparaging your work, just the aesthetic. Very nice resto mod
LOL . . . two of them were yellow . . . which if I may ask? Number 6 or number 6!
@@TimeRider the yellow number 6 farthest to the left. Sorry, not enough coffee in me yet.
very nice build as always
Beautiful resto mod, love that yellow..... Looking forward to the blind mice build and the Beatnik... Til then stay safe... 😷
What a beautiful restomod. I love the classic white, but that yellow is so striking. Great video as always.
Awesome custom 👍
Ooo...I like that in yellow, sharp! Nice work as usual TR.
Cool that you were able to create 2 additional versions of the Ford GT40..
Great looking GT40!
Another great job and the yellow turned out great!
Definitely like the white GT 40 out of the lineup

Hi TR,
I think it looks fantastic in the yellow!
Take care, cheers all.
Nicely done sir 👍!
Love it, alternated axles... Nice touch!
It was that way originally but I may have got it backwards.
Looks great. Love the GT40.
Nice build and paint job 👌
I like the yellow car!

Nice job, it looks better in yellow
You won one of these in my give away, email me at timerider2000@gmail.com
Great work as usual :)
I had heard tales of the yellow model - but never seen one. It looks so much nicer in yellow. Thanks for sharing! That's a beautiful custom. Nice one.
Great trip of gt40s
really nice!!!! I love the color, the wheels looks nice, it gaves that vintage feeling... but i would like to see it with some beefy modern tires!
Nice, it turned out great 👍👍😊
Amazing job as always Lee.
LOL,I'm borrowing that. ."Fred got lucky last night yellow"....priceless
The full quote is "Fred the paint guy got lucky last night."
Like the yellow.
Henry the Ford 2nd
😂 thanks I needed that.
I was gonna gripe about the yellow wheels, but they look awesome with the yellow paint! Great work, TimeRider!!
Not sure why, the yellow GT40 was only released with yellow wheels. The white was released with red, yellow and wire.
Ya did a great job, turned out very nice
Sweet stuff !
Count me in. Good job on that GT!
Looks great!
Nice job on the car!
One of the Matchbox toys I actually remember owning! Great job!
Awesome dude!
Awesome 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻
Nice. Sorry I missed your live stream. Have a great weekend. Stay healthy. Pick me, pick me. I want the one with the #6 on it. Ha ha.
Great looking model I’m going to have to try one with the wire wheels I’m thinking British Racing Green
Hi Lee when you frist primed i saw the paint sputterat frist and then cleared up .turned out realy nice.
one of the things I like about Duplicolor is just that. It's thin and levels well as a result.
@@TimeRider yes great stuff
Funny to think that the first generation of the Ford GT was developed 40 miles up the road from me at Slough in the United Kingdom. Nice resto.
the paint matches the wheels, i like that
Nice! I had no idea that Lesney released these in yellow. I guess you learn something new everyday, even at my (our) age! (You can read that as, I really enjoy your narrated history lessons!)
Cool looks great
Random comment. LOL
Love the color change

super nice
👍Nice job! I have one of these in a little rougher shape and was wondering what to do with it. Thanks! ✌
“Carl” Shelby... Carroll’s evil twin? Great resto mod. Keep em coming.
Who is Carl Shelby? Never heard of him.
@@TimeRider Ha.... apologies, must've just been your Minnesotan accent.
Nice!

No offense sir, but you're telling me how to paint . . . I just want to be clear on that.

I’d love to see one of these converted to a roadster.
"I've worked Projects on this Car" not trying to segue but I happen to have a channel dedicated to the game Project Cars!
Oh such memories as I actually had the wire wheels version that got stolen by an older relative in the early 80s...
It's you again 😀
I want one, please.
Very nice, the yellow looks really good on that casting. Can you tell me/us where you purchased that UV light? I use one to find dust and lens separation on some of my camera lenses and yours looks like a good one.
Here ya go!!!

I really like the color choice. Looks good with the wheels. Hey, I think the decal is a touch crooked?
You're just mean.
Just curious if you've ever accidentally drilled your hand, holding it like that while getting the windshield rivet. :)
The drill isn't really going that fast so, no.
Looks great in yellow. Not to be a pest (well OK, I am) but you misspelled "substitutes" again. (Guess that cost me my entry into your contest).

Nice build!! Do you have the old Matchbox case that featured this car?
No, I'm not a collector, I'm a hobbyist so I don't generally have such things.
I used tamiya Camel yellow
I used "Fred the paint guy got lucky" yellow! LOL!
