Flight Review - Ryanair London Stansted to Cologne, Economy Class B737

- Here is my flight review of my recent flight from London Stansted to Cologne Bonn airport. I flew with Ryanair on an Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Economy class.
Having flown British Airways from Heathrow and easyJet from Gatwick it was time to check out Ryanair's service from London Stansted, to Cologne in Germany.
Germany is one of the very few countries still open for British residents to visit without quarantine applying in either direction, and Cologne is one of the very few cities flown to by Ryanair on consecutive days (meaning I only needed to spend one night overseas).
Ryanair does the low-cost thing very well, even if the passengers need to inconvenience themselves a little to support Ryanair's objectives. But how has that service changed to accommodate the current challenges? And have German airports adopted a typically Germanic approach to managing passengers? Spoiler alert - very little and no!!!

Excellent video ❤
Thanks as always!
Good show governor!
Thanks John. One from the archives that one! Probably went on about the pandemic a bit???
@@MattsPlanet No mate. I just like that expression Good Show Governor lol. I recently subscribed to your channel. Brand brand new. Kind of like your English accent too lol. It is fun to listen to. I am to fly to LGW from Bulgaria in less than 10 days. Hopefully I can manage it hehe.
@@johndereck304 Good comment Governor!
Nice to see a new face on my feed, have subscribed and looking forward to watching more of your vids. Great content and I do miss Stansted, for all its fault it’s the airport we use for our hols... not that I’ve had one this this year.. hoping 2021 is a bit more normal for us all
Thanks Paul - welcome to team ttam!
If you’re ever going to stansted and you want cheaper parking, let me know! I’ve found a way to pay £10 a day!
Great video!!
I will - thanks!
i quit like the look of stansteds terminal, but i hate being funneled through duty free
Hi Toby. Stansted's quite pleasant actually - just hold your nose and walk quickly through the shop!
Good video but the COVID stuff was too much. Stop scaring people!
I'll be celebrating when I can stop mentioning it
I have flown Ryanair so many times and from Stanstead airport. I'm now trying to put more value in my life and try to book more BA flights and fly from Heathrow instead. I live in SW London, so it would make things more easier and comfortable for me.
It'll cost you more (most of the time!) but the experience is so much more grown up!
The one drawback of having stairs embedded in the aircraft: it eats up a considerable amount of weight. So the weight saved by painting safety info onto the seat back is way negated by a staircase.
And I thought only AirAsia was the only carrier that preps passengers for early boarding before the plane even shows up. That means last call happens even one hour before departure time, which for AirAsia apparently defines as take-off, not just when the time they detach the stairs or aero bridge.
The economics of the low cost carrier....
Catching the first bit of this again as I've just booked my first flight from Stansted. Why that airport? Because the long-stay parking is around £70 for a week - and that's about half what Gatwick would charge.
£70 to leave your car somewhere for a week is probably still less than it costs to fly to the other side of Europe on Ryanair!
I was quite shocked when I flew from Berlin last week, and Ryanair actually used the airbridge to board!
The new Berlin airport was probably running a "free airbridges" offer to airlines as a welcome offer!
Such a good and honest review thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Great channel Matt. Just subscribed.
Thanks for subbing - welcome!
Such a great video. Extremely helpful
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it.
Good video mate ! 👍 But I think the "pandemic" thing is getting a little worn out now. More people are dying of seasonal flu each year. Most people don't have it, and never will.
Thanks! What I will say is that flying is incredibly safe - the experts reckon you're safer on a plane than you are virtually anywhere else in public.
@@MattsPlanet yeah ! I haven't flown since January to be honest, I refuse to wear face masks because I have a condition, but it seems airlines are still calling folk out who have medical conditions. That said it wouldn't phase me one inch to fly without a mask on.
