When I'm trading options I'm always buying and selling based on certain price points of the actual stock price, not really paying much attention to the option price itself.
Is there a way for me to trigger a stop loss and buy/sell an option when the stock price hits a certain price? If not, how do most people fare with this, since my technical analysis is always based on the underlying price and I don't necessarily want to spend the time figuring out what the option price will be at the price point?
Just "buy the dip" man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this.
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine.
Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime
if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROl, and this does not include capital gain.
Facing this recession without investment is actually risky, salaries are easily spent off!
Interesting l. I think this is something I should do, but l've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same but it seems you've got it all worked out with the firm you work with so i surely wouldn't mind a recommendation.

They say "The third time's the charm" & I believe I've noticed a pattern. Now twice, I saw my upside unexpectedly jump for one or two days, then a sell-off beginning immediately afterward. It has really drummed the take profits when they look ripe into my head.

Hi Chris ~ I'm struggling with the proper time frame ( expire date ) and in or out of the money combo to choose. I tend to struggle with pulling the trigger selling and getting out of the trading day with 2 hours of work. I tend to hold all day and watch the charts like a cat watching a fish tank. I would like the right combo of time and strike price for puts or calls that would allow me to swing trade longer. If I could have more time for a play to develop. If it shows profits soon, sure I can pull the trigger, but if it takes time I want to stay in and not get eaten up by the greeks. Do you have a rule of thumb for me to use for longer time frame, in or out of the money, cheap and steady base hit type strike price choices?

How do you determine the option price to set the stop loss at? I'm confused because it's difficult to to know what the option price will be at based on the stock price? For example if Tesla stock is at $167 and I enter to buy a call and it's priced at 2.30 and I want to set my stop loss at $165. How do I set the stop loss price to match $165? I'd really appreciate if someone can explain. Thanks!
