The violence in Jamaica and other Caribbean nations is deeply rooted in history, culture, and socio-economic challenges. 1. Historical Context: The legacy of slavery left generational trauma and disrupted family structures. Political violence in the 1970s and 1980s further normalized aggression, and many communities were armed, deepening the problem. 2. Cultural Factors: Music often reflects society, and while reggae and dancehall are powerful art forms, some lyrics glorify violence, hypersexuality, and criminal lifestyles. The “badman” culture and glorification of toughness stem from survival mechanisms passed down from slavery and colonialism. 3. Socio-Economic Issues: Poverty, lack of education, and unemployment fuel crime. Corruption and weak institutions also fail to address these challenges effectively. Without addressing the normalization of violence and family breakdown, it will be hard to see real change. This will require: • Education: Teaching conflict resolution and emotional intelligence early. • Community Leadership: Promoting role models who reject violence. • Policy Reform: Tackling systemic inequality and improving opportunities.

Many Jamaicans are uneducated and do not read so video platforms are a great way to teach and educate. Poverty and slavery have nothing to do with crime. Cuba, Zimbabwe, and many other countries are poorer than Jamaica, yet they don't have said crime rates. A youth having a gun that costs more than many people's salary is suffering from poverty? If slavery causes crime, why we didn't see these levels of crime 50-100 years ago. Jamaica's murder rate was fewer than 100 murders/year during the '50s and '60s.

Facts.... yuh haffi member say, jaii born wha day... Him only influence a these no talented choppa artist..
I beg to differ , Beenie man is far more marketable than bounty & popular worldwide .. I been to many countries & yes bob shaggy Paul & Beenie with Kartel is the most popular Jamaican artists.. plus Beenie man have the most number 1’s in jamaica , far more hits .. go check the facts .. female fans like Beenie more also
Technically, Trabass did say he got a shot to go all the way to hollyweird but he peeped what was happening and turned down a big deal
Respect to trabass for that. Nuff people would sell out them beliefs and go to Hollywood
@Failedstateofcali true that
And he was right because it was with russel Simmons and if u google u can see the accusations on him
Shella reasoning “ LOCAL” 😂
King of the Dancehall right now ? from 2008 - present ? Vybz Kartel
Talk truth
@@Clipperbossmanwas Movado, then poppy and now a skilli. The world is bigger than Jamaica. Vybz kartel’s peak in music was in 2016 and numbers wise that was Alkaline’s year. He is more culturally relevant than all of these artistes and more lyrical than them but they crossed over and had songs on the billboard charts. Do the knowledge on why Beenie Man is the king.
Shella I admire your patience
Bennie and killa on the same level they both are impactful to the culture.
Mi rate the reasoning about who is the king of dancehall. I understand and respect both perspectives
SUCCESS IS 95% MINDSET 5% STRATEGY
Poor shella......man can barely get a point across, your opinion Nuh matter to your host 😂shella wah say supm and just realize and say cho naah bother yah 😅😂
So true. Only when Shella a agree with Jai him allow him fi talk. Jai you can't allow jai fi finish a sentence?
Why e dawg only have on 1 socks lol
😂😂😂 yzt bro
Prable he is going off
I said the same thing and my girl seh maybe his foot is sick
One thing uno see and talk bout anything😂
Both of y'all speak facts
You need a Artiste Currency list
A list - dancehall front runners, current. Masicka, Shenseea, Lawboss, skillibeng, valiant, 450
B list - artiste weh a do well but ano yet A list - Kraff, Rajah, Jada, armanii, malie
C list - artiste we have a decent following on the ground, might have little crowd in diaspora - Pablo YG, skippa, intence, shaniel miur, stalk ashley
D list - columns in dancehall with extended catalogue. Have relevance and/or once an A/B lister but not current. Popcaan, kartel, spice, aidonia, govana, bounty, beenie, rygin king, alkaline
E list - artiste dem weh find songs ina di past, still a release music, have potential but nobody nah meds dem - silk boss, nation boss, 10tik, yaksta, moyann
F list - fuckery/people weh need fi go look a work but a do music - skimask, eddy g, kyodi
Uncharted - doing music but no fit any criteria - 9ine, ziddi
Rytical fi inna di E list

Dawq say rygin king 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@therealgunners21 yes. He was once somewhere between a and b list. He does have a decent catalogue, 2 albums to his name, still ina di game but not current compared to the likes of masicka or a kraff.
Alkaline is way more impactful than Masicka , how him turn king ?😂😂😅
Which artist him buss? Controversy alone him have over masicka 😅😅
Deh interview yah tuff reasoning different jaii have him facts them yf
The security system needs to be reformed.
Great reasoning, the culture need a positive and progressive change. Jamaica we need a better way!
Killa have way more impact than Beenie . But beenie is a way better all round performer. Beenie had a bag a number 1 songs but killa was right there also . And killa won a Grammy with No Doubt
Bounty winning a Grammy featuring no doubt song title hey baby
the buss culture is similar to when some one is able to get u a job interview with any company and you get the job, their response is, they are the one who got you the job...nah fam you gave me the opportunity to give myself the opportunity to secure that job... cuz was if den never hire me
57:41 “back up man “😂😂
53:50 I love jai perspective
Big up to the Doctor 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 You have.
To give a man his flowers while he's alive. Who doesn't think he was the king of the dancehall 🎉
Shella nave much sense enuh, lol 😅
He don’t , they need to get him off the podcast asap
Him slow bad
LBH….#1🎉🎉
Shella definitely didn’t have cable, because wtf🤣🤣💀💀
Love this review
The Jamaican actors and comedian need the support fi true jaii me understand wah yuh mean
Me like how the dawg a defend bounty still.Beenie man have more selling records but bounty have the roots
Shella fi work behind the scenes…. Cameraman reasoning him Dey pon
😂😂😂😂
@@victorwright5602 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Jai King is different from PM or President, when your King, your King until your Death or he abdicates his throne and same for Queen
Bro every episode man a fi seh something bout d fix lol
Shella can’t even understand a simple analogy smh
Masicka is not the king of DH. Mosquito is the Noah Lyles of DH because he's the current leader of it..but still not for long enough and he hasn't done enough to be considered the king. He has a lot more to do first
Lol😂😅. Only when Shella ageee with Jai him mek him talk. 😂😂😅
For the first time, Shella actually is the one with the more sound reasoning regarding the king & queen talk.
This dude is confused he wouldn’t give to skillibeng because he’s doing different music but came back and said shenseea is the Queen 🤴 who also said she’s not doing dancehall SMH, only stupid people can’t see your true colors, dwfl 😂😂😂
Da Yute ya reason with feeling, u can go Europe or Asia and hear Beenie song Simple’s as that
And beenie man always touring and others
If you don’t know which artists, producers and dancers Beenie buss ,you don’t know nothing about Dancehall…Fella yah a 🤡
Spice the queen. Shensea the princess
A king takes care of his people and look out fo.r his people's interest
Jaii what you need fi for now is go to the schools around jamaica with your 📷 and spread the message.
Shella actually had a great point with king of the dancehall.
As the fix get kartel he suddenly is not the current king😅😅😅.... Bounty say he is a friend of the fix so suddenly he is below beenie man😅😅😅... Beenie clock the numbers for himself and his family... Bounty clock the numbers for the talents he planted along the way in dancehall... From bounty came aidonia, busy, Movado, kartel and everybody under kartel... Bro stop the capping... Bounty is dancehall...
Frais, Agent Sasco was telling you about the influence and you had alot to say otherwise. I see you're now singing another tune
Bredda TikTok is not the problem
artist nah clash again a podcasters now 😂😂😂 and jaii a lead e clash right now.. jaii is like the kartel inna deh clash yah 🤣😂😂
Our global political soft power is our culture (food, music, tourism) and sports. Our national issue with crime is a contributing deterrent to our international growth on the main stage. We are in the process of building our creative industry and infrastructure in film and the arts, but you're both correct our structure and education of how to build industries is why we are behind. Investments are out there, but until we deal with transforming our national issues in restructuring crime, and growing economic growth in parishes for national stability, this ecosystem will sustain. PM knows wa gwan and a culture shift is imminent. We’ll retell our story to Jamaica and the world and reset the impact slavery and colonialism still has on us today. A culture shift will take time and Jaii you overstand which was articulated clearly throughout this discussion, but once we go live, we can all do this together. Brand Jamaica soon forward yer!
Kartel is the king 🤴!!
Boii Shella yuh reason dunce yf 😂😂 saying that Killer was the king based on that fact is basically saying bob marley sons automatically are the kings of reggae…dat nuh make sense
Know how long mi a wait 🤣🗽🇯🇲
Real talk Beenie man bigger than killer when it come on to impact worldwide, fada shella nah meds 😂😂😂😂
Israelites in captivity in this corporation island named Jamaica, HUMBLE OURSELVES, SEEK THE FACE OF THE MOST HIGH YAH. REPENT AND RETURN TO THE LAWS, STATUTES AND COMMANDMENTS SO THAT YAH ALMIGHTY WILL THE MINDS OF OUR PEOPLE TO HEAL THE LAND.
Jai play mind game. Him kinda hurt bout di interview but it is understandable
Bounty have a bigger impact to dancehall than beenie man
Locally
Same way u can manifest minions over yuh life, a di same way u can manifest death over yuh life.... yuh tongue a di most powerful weapon god gave to mankind
The host doesn’t know the dancehall music so well. Is Masicka on a Kartel or Beenieman level? How can he be king for having a few hot songs . Not even cross over sold no gold or diamond. Nothing to say yes people in Africa, Europe and even Asian countries like Japan know your music. My question is how long was beenieman king and how long was Kartel king because he pass the king thing so easily. An artist can become king with little or no accomplishments
Joe Rogan released over 170 episodes this year so that’s not a really good example. He’s consistent yet still impactful.
Dem man ya dunce to actual facts
Just to show only Jamaicans like to prove who interview who and all no unity 💯
Love this episode, its about time we call it like it is, Sir P been saying it and they hate him.
The root cause of our problem is, we dont love ourselves, therefore we cant love someone else. We are a Bunches of vipers.
