Keith is so good. I used to work at Gibson Guitars. We worked in the same building and I got to hear him play daily. Great player, great guitar builder, and nice humble guy.

I get the feeling he had the entire song written in his head, then created the instrument he needed to play it.
this instrument has actually been around since about 1900, but has never been widely used because of it's complexity and cost to manufacture.

I avoid buying instruments like harp guitars etc...Too many strings attached lol
If you just saw the guitar sitting against a wall you'd almost think it was a gimmick. But when you hear him play it, it all makes perfect sense. The guitar section provides the melody, the sub basses provide bass notes to make it sound full and dense, and the super trebles provide a beautiful and colorful effect. I love that he actually makes use of the entire instrument. What a fantastic player.
I totally agree with your post. I'd have posted my own, but you worded it like I would have. Keith Medley is an excellent, super-talented guitarist.

Hey everybody, I'm stunned and happy for Keith that this video I produce almost a year ago has caught on all of a sudden thanks to #CNN exposure and many others too. I'm just glad that a unique creative person such as Keith gets some deserved attention. The fact that he built a masterpiece of an instrument and then mastered the playing of it is pretty astonishing. I'm so glad to have created some videos that help bring his artistry to a wider audience. Enjoy!

This is, without a doubt, my favorite video on the internet. This man is a musical genius and I would absolutely support a documentary about this process!
Keith Medley's control over the tone of every single note, particularly evident in the bends, slides, and harmonic tapping, is truly mind-shattering. That's heaps of practice hours right there, ladies and gentlemen. Heaps.
Keith is amazing!!.. I'm a Bass player and a drummer. So I love the low end and hard pushing. But this mesmerizes me... I can be stressed to a 9.9 and I listen to this and any stress just drains off. Instant calm.. I was surprised to find out Keith is a southern boy. I really expected he would be from the UK.. I don't know why.. Ancestors was an instant, beautiful favorite. A genius rhythmic ensemble...
Absolutely amazing!! And to see the entire instrument played. I've seen other videos where they have double string sets and what not but they don't use the whole instrument. Here, I'm seeing the most number of strings, used to perfection. What a master musician!

Hey man, I'm 17 and I love this song, loved this kind of music since I was growing up in various arid parts of the united states. Thing song takes me back to when I was walking on the salt flats, just dried cracked mud for miles and miles. Nostalgia makes you feel old, really old. I feel for you man.
I’ve been interested in hearing harp-guitars lately and of all the songs I’ve heard this one REALLY stands out in a cool and ambient way! Glad I heard this gem! The supreme use of the bass strings and the tight string high notes really have been milked n mixed so beautifully!!!

Who the F--! in their right mind would ever give this an ego driven "thumbs down"?! This is pure musical beauty! I've listened to this song over 100 times and it gets better and better each time. This guy is 100% connected to the zone of musicality. LOVE this. There might have been an additional bass track playing, because some of the bass lines are clearly fingered and not open strings, but who gives a F---! He played that track too, I'm sure. Just an added part of what this beautiful song needed, and his brilliant, musical mind knew it.
This is without a doubt the most amazing and beautiful innovation in music within the last ... oh... forever! Mr. Medley has created 4D audio. A sound so complex, intertwined with itself and pure that, although I attempt to, I cannot describe it. Andrés Segovia would have probably made a pact with Satan to live long enough to play this instrument had he known.

That was an incredible performance! Bravo! What a talented artist. I'm just learning more about these instuments. They truly make sense. A complete instrument that gives us the full range and a rich sound. And he is such a master of his instrument! One would think this was an ancient musical instrument because it make total sense, but it's new; wow! I can see these already being play in heaven, yet mankind just finally learned of it. I picture King David would love to have played this instrument. What an amazing performance! Thank you Lord for music. I play completely different type musical instruments: trumpet and tin whistle. I love music and play for our Lord and Saviour Jesus!

Incredible job on the build and his composition and performance which was flawless! Mastreful and he has build a 29 string solid body with a chamber and no f holes. Can't wait to hear it!

Had to stop playing and throw your hair back. As a fellow long hair guitar player I have to do this all time. Our hair is our biggest enemy when it comes to playing. They just want to fall on the strings and mute them
