Halazia is amazing! The dance practice is fantastic, and if you'd like to see some live stages I recommend Inkigayo. Here's a shortened explanation if their lore: The story starts with teenage Ateez who meet as high school students, they all have their various problems and dreams and the one good thing in their lives is hanging out together in an abandoned warehouse, playing games, singing and dancing. At some point the group breaks up though and Hongjoong is left alone. In a dream comes to him a man in a black fedora and a mask and gives him an hourglass. When Hongjoong wakes up, the hourglass, which is an artefact called the Cromer that allows to communicate in dreams and cross dimensions, and also, in some circumstances, to travel in time, is still there in reality. When Hongjoong turns it, Ateez are brought back to the warehouse and transported to a parallel dimension together. You can see all that in the prologue video called Diary Film. The parallel reality, which Ateez call the "Z" dimension (as opposed to our "A" dimension), aka Strictland, is a place where a government's AI and its henchmen (android guardians aka White Giants aka Masked Men) control people with the goal of eradicating emotions, because they're a disruptive, dangerous thing. They banned all kids of art because art incites feelings (if you've seen the movie Equilibrium, a good chunk of their worldbuilding was inspired by it and by extension by Fahrenheit 451 and 1984). Some people literally get their voices stolen and there's also a kind of smoke/gas there that traps people in trances made of their memories mixed with dreams (like in the Inception MV). The Ateez of that world, the guys in hats and masks, are the original rebels there, the government calls them Black Pirates, we call them Halateez (after the Hala Hala MV). When Ateez arrive, eventually it turns out that Halateez have been captured and need Ateez to take their place. The initial results are mixed, Ateez save some people, lose some people, get thrown back to our dimension but leave Yeosang behind. We don't really know yet all the details of what happened to him, but he's eventually captured (it's shown in the Say My Name MV), then saved by Halateez who must have escaped somehow (we don't know the details of that part of the story yet either). Eventually Ateez manage to come back to the Halateez world, they're reunited with Yeosang and they start a revolution together with the rebels (which can be seen in the Guerrilla MV), using art as a weapon, a method to wake people up and give them back emotions suppressed by the government. Halazia is a song telling the story from the point of view of an "anonymous witness", a citizen if Strictland. The lyrics talk about losing emotions, losing their voice and looking for help. I'm not sure if all the images are literal (probably not, I doubt that Yunho was actually trapped in a giant hourglass), it might be an emotional impression or a memory-dream of someone in a trance. Either way, it seems to show people sort of praying to a Halateez effigy and Ateez taking their place, and maybe Yeosang in chains symbolises the time he was captured?
