I co-drove a Lancia Stratus in the British National Rally Championship. Great days the only problem was because of the roll cage, I had to hold both helmets on my knee, read the road book etc 😊
I comment as I go along the video :) The main original Stratos components are NOT FIAT bin parts. The suspension is specific front and back, the steering is also specific, brakes are specific. These are the components that make up a car, not the switches and a the door handles. Saying the Stratos used FIAT bin parts is wrong and an insult to the engineers that designed and built it (not in a shed as some of the contributors here).
I have spoken with people involved with the real Stratos and there were Fiat/Lancia parts used along with some specific Stratos parts. These replicas are not nut and bolt copies but I think your disparaging comments about them being built in a shed is somewhat insulting. I know some of these replicas have been driven by ex works drivers and the LB which doesn't claim to be a copy of the original chassis has been widely regarded as superior as road cars. I appreciate your enthusiasm and interest but please be respectful. These are replicas. Often assembled by engineers to a high standard
FYI these are not Stratos carburetors in the "absolutely identical" car. These are Dino 246 carburetors (DCNF). The Stratos used IDF carburetors (with custom float chambers). I'm also sure the chassis is not identical to an original. You do know however that there ARE exact copies of the original currently being made in Italy and France. These are indistinguishable and fraudulent.
The curious thing is: chassy n3 stratos prototype that was shown in 1972 at torin motorshow had a lancia beta momentarily installed!.
@@ettoredomini4614 this is true
One of the most unique race cars ever made.

That really is a wonderful insight. I hope you like the videos
Could you email me regarding your time as a co-driver? My email address is enwinauthor@gmail.com

The lines are absolutely fantastic. The sound is really a bit of disappointment. Compared with the real thing.
