- In the Kimberley young men leave home to become ringers out on the backblocks of stations like Mulla Bulla. It’s a tough life. Getting up at 3am and in bed on dusk. They spend all day in the saddle and get a feed of beef before going to bed under the stars.
I bet those cattle are wild as hell 😂😂 ours are gentle where i work here in Texas because they are used to everything

I am a ex ringer from west Queensland as a young man I spent time on Kidman cattle stations in my teens
No worries bro...the Head stockman in this video Charlie Corns was actually from a station in Western QLD. Unfortunatly he was swept away and drowned while crossing a flooding river on his horse. But hats off to all the ringers...bloody tough job.
Rebel Films that's so sad I hope he got a good send off . it's a hard life out there I only did 4 years out there then moved to Brisbane and did NRA Rodeo for 6 years then got in to the fight game . I don't know how the cattle industry is going to survive in this day and age with the drought and economical circumstances it's not in a good way
Wow...sounds like you've had an adventurous life...bet theres a few good yarns there. This short video is actually a clip from a longer film we made called Rodeo Road. Look for it on the same channel. You will love it. As for the cattle industry at the mo...yep...thay be doing it tough right now. Ive driven through western QLD when in drough before...cattle were a sorry sight.

What's a ranch then in Australia? "Stations" in the U.S. are descriptive of police,fire, or gas stations. Interesting. I love learning new things. Adios!
@@jimpaull731 stations are names for ranches and farms . Can also be a police station and things like that

sign me up and ship me over looks like so much fun the only thing that mest with me was the fact that they use calf tables on every thing from calfs, to yearlings, to even grown cattle though all that i seen here in the states except some time we use shutes everything is roped and dragged for branding

thank you sir that statement is quite a complement here most of the stuff is done on horse back some ranches use four wheelers and dirt bikes and fewer use helicopters and our cattle are mostly angus because it is suposedly better than every other cow type but i caint tell the difference
Horses are still used quite extensively here but the cattle properties are so huge they need 4WD and choppers to cover the massive areas. In the north most stations run droughtmasters which a brahman cross. In my opinion they are bloody ugly. Hey..we made a one hour documentary about ringers and rodeo in the Kimberley over here. it is my dream that when i graduate highshcool to fly or ship over and and work work on round ups or musters as you fellers call them i agree with you bramer cattle as we call them are ugly as all get out but their a lot of fun to chase and ride now do you guys have fenced in pastures or is it all open range or is your stations all under one fence
You do that Wyatt. All of the cattle station videos on my channel are in the Kimberley region in the very north west of Australia. Im sure you would love the country and the cattle culture up there. They are allways looking for young ringers...especially with experience. Most stations have their boundries fenced but many of the larger and remoter ones have a mininal amount of fencing. Highways run through these unfenced stations resulting in terrible accidents.
