This one also beat my expectations as well. -The intro and midsection: are nice and ambient. -First drop: pretty formulaic imo but the metallic sounds and the pitched up vocal chops are what carries this drop. Oh and the reeses that acts as fills are filthy. Though it is formulaic, it's still really good even for Modestep standards. -Second drop: MUCH better, the variation was needed and some new sounds were shown. The sustain was not at all annoying or ear piercing. -The kicks and snares are so chunky and distorted in both the drops which is good (for me at least) - Visuals are (yet again) just amazing (contender for favourite) I wish the second drop was a bit longer and we hear Josh's vocals like we did in vol 6 (ik it's techincally here but it's just looped) 8.1/10 Is it better than "Lost My Way"? (For me, Yes)
Modestep is back and better than ever! I knew from the preview that this track was going to be great, but I did not expect it to be this fucking great! Excellent work!!!
Fun fact about modestep is that they have had the most songs that passed 10 million views on youtube than any other disciple members having 4 songs passing 10 million views being Modestep- Sunlight Modestep- Another day (Xkore remix) Modestep-Feel Good Modestep - To The stars (Break the Noize & The autobots remix)
I feel like Modestep really found their identity in their last Alliance track, and that's carried over to this one. I don't know if anyone else felt the same, but I really feel like Modestep was having a bit of an identity crisis with their tracks before. I always got the impression they had no idea if they wanted to make hardcore shit, or chill stuff. You'd see them make laid back stuff like Lost Inside, but then turn around and make super heavy tracks like WIP and The Fallout, and almost always the mastering was just a little strange... I like WIP, but the whole master feels a bit muddy in it, and although sounds have that oomph to them to some extent, the lack of higher frequencies makes it not really pop. This is where I'm scared I'm probably gonna lose a lot of people, bc I know it's an absolute fan favourite, but even The Fallout - I *love* the intro, and even as someone not into rock music I came to like the metal section at the bridge, but the actual drops in The Fallout? I'm not gonna lie, I have never liked it, because it always felt to me like the basses were made for a normal drop and then just distorted and compressed obnoxiously hard to make it seem heavy - you can tell some of the sounds are very unbalanced, jumping from too much high end to practically no high end at all sometimes. With these newer tracks that seem to focus on this surprisingly effective combo of sharp and hard-hitting FM basses with melodic wubs, vocal chops, and pads - at least to me, it feels a lot more like I could listen to this track without reading the title and think "oh this *has* to be a Modestep track", whereas before I feel like not much made them stand out from the crowd. Great track either way.

Modestep have seriously been stepping up their game lately
No doubt
You are acting like they were bad at some point 😂 they've always been great asf.
@@Michael-tm6vs nah I just mean they've gone from great to even better than that 🔥
Wow its so beautiful and heavy at the same time
Its like a blend of Modestep's two styles and i absolutely love this
I absolutely love this one. One of my favorite tracks so far, if not my favorite. So aesthetic for me, but also pretty heavy as well which adds to it
Everything from MCAT and Lost My Way forwards from new Modestep have been absolutely fantastic. Great job Guys
My personal favourite from the whole Compilation. Modestep fuckin killed it!!!

Holy shit latest Modestep tracks got such an amazing nostalgic vibe to them! Please honor us with new ep 🙏

I'm freaking proud modesteps been picking back up again. It's great to see that the dawn ep/old-school Era was short
Personally, I liked psycho. But all blood sounded almost exactly the same.
I honestly miss that era the most but whatever modestep puts out I'm happy for it
@@Rannument that's fair. The other ep he put out during that time was amazing
@@wooyaa8152 Echoes EP? Yep. That one is absolutely amazing and it's the EP that got me into modestep in the first place

This change in the second drop got to me! I was really looking forward to this song and the wait was worth it!

Build up somehow reminds me of Burial - Archangel
Personally I think lost my way was better mainly because I liked that the drops sort of had 2 sides but this song is still great
