very cool to see the new mechanic being used here, and I especially loved that we got a solo marble for each color, its felt like a very long time since we've had one of those!
Love the concept here and hope you do more like this. One request though: please don't use teal in the next water event. It blends in too well with the water and it was hard to follow.
@@somerandommemer188 no sense in being rude, its a legitimate critique. Teal does blend in with the water extremely well without some form of outline to set it apart. (As there are plenty of comments all saying the same thing)

I think in Unity you can choose what color a liquid is, among other properties. Since water is pretty much a lot of individual balls, that's what you get.
I'm guessing it has to do with water pressure. The color is green for the lowest pressure and red for the highest. That seems to apply throughout, given how the water gets darker in high pressure areas.
@@ShimmeringSpectrum I think it only has to do with the pressure at which it comes out, since red water makes it to the destruction area without losing its color.

I finally know why the channel is named Mikan, its because the word Mikan comes from a Japanese citrus fruit. And that also explains why Mikans pfp is an orange
How often (if ever) do you come up with an idea for a component or even an entire race that turns out to be too difficult, either for you to create or for the marbles to complete?
This was a very interesting concept. I'm happy Rainbow made it to the final leg but I will say I still rarely see it place number 1. Top 10 is not that bad, though.
One thing I think could be fun is a grand prix, a race with multiple legs like these elimination races, but instead of the last x placers being eliminated each round, you get points based on how well you place. The best example that comes to mind is Mario Kart.
2:39 Looking at the underside of the sloped platforms, I think the water physics messed up a bit here lol. 4:20 Poor Magenta almost got robbed at the end lol. 5:17 Close call Lime... went for the slam dunk tho. 6:27 RIP Lime. 8:09 The water like formed a loop around the Blue what. 9:20 Ouch that sucks for Orange, one of the first to the top but on the wrong side. 12:10 Those water-only platforms are neat! 12:20 Hah Orange almost skipped a level. 12:57 Almost did it again! 13:16 That was too close phew. 13:20 Yooo colored water! Wait is it polluted? Oh dear. 14:38 Damn, Orange fell off right at the end. 15:00 Eyy I just realized every time a marble finishes, a new color gets added to the water! 15:24 Hey 7th isn't so bad!
I like the water method. The way it moves the marbles allows them to experience the "flow" part without running the risk of always being on the bottom of the pile. It also allows for creative flow uses like in the last two legs. Making it so the marbles can pass through the red parts but the water doesn't and using the variable-strength jets was cool. As a Red fan, it was stressful watching the end of Leg 8. Only gripe about this is the color of the water. It so closely matches the 10th place marble (Teal?) that it makes that marble hard to see.
I love how at points the water is so densely packed that some of it clips inside the ground colliders and just kinda chills in there, only having its outline peek through
yeah, keeping forward momentum was very important in the last stretch. also I liked how in a couple of the elimination legs, the course slowly filled up to make it easier for the last few marbles to make it to the end.
It's pretty cool to see just how vastly different the races work with the water, cuz it makes things a lot harder for the marbles to get where they wanna go
No matter what happens, I will always be an ardent fan of Lavender and Mint. It was heartbreaking to see the two of them forced to contend for potential last several times in some of the legs, and equally heartwarming to see the two of them make it to the other side together. Only for Lav to be left behind... ;^; At least Mint got 4th for her.
Finally, MIKAN has switched entirely himself to Unity, after a long time working in Algodoo. Also, you sould do some anti-aliasing to the text because it looks so sharp. And a better shader for water is ideal for another water race. And what he wants: - Some orange juice - Protein Chocolate Flavor - A new better screen (I don't know why he need this because he've already had one) - A Macbook (for testing marble race in Unity)
It took me a moment to realize that the water at the end was changing color based on the pressure and speed gradients. It seems like that at least... very cool idea! Perhaps a water gun battle is in order, perhaps they have to claim land until they destroy the other side and can deploy obstacles to move their water around.
I'm quite happy you're experimenting with unity and all, but could you have like a thin black border on the marbles or something? They seem to blend in with their tails and I find that a little hard to watch.
man you got creative! the fluid physics and shading too were awesome!! maybe you could do the same thing but with a different viscosity like honey viscosity or syrup viscosity, i do understand if no it's probally dificult to simulate fluids
I feel like this would be REALLY cool in, like, a 24 team format with 6 marbles per team but with much smaller marbles; that many particles would mean you could see the currents a lot better. Not that it's not already cool, mind you.
So I from now on never choose green, because they are unlucky. I would choose yellow because according to the Chinese Five Elements my lord colour was Yellow! So I need to just reverse my won and lost.
I think the only style difference I might have made is in the final, the twelve fountains' water being that of the eliminated colours in order. But obviously I'm not mad. I love the finale had a "floor is lava" component to it!
This is really cool but for a little clarity on what is happening try and inject some different colour fluids into the system it will show flows and eddies which are hard to see if its all one colour
Suggestion: in fluid versions, please make the water a different color from the marbles. In all but the last level, the 10th place marble (don't know name) was essentially invisible.
I have an idea. You should do an elimination marble race, but the FIRST marble to get to the end of the leg is eliminated. On the last leg, the last marble to teach the end wins.

I don't mind the water colour being extremely similar to teal.
Given this issue it may be considered that teal won hundreds of times over with each particle that got to the finish
