LYRICS
Carolina In My Mind by James Taylor
In my mind, I′m gone to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine?
Can′t you just feel the moon shinin'?
Ain't it just like a friend of mine
To hit me from behind?
Yes, I′m gone to Carolina in my mind
Karen, she′s a silver sun
You best walk her way and watch it shinin'
Watch her watch the mornin′ come
A silver tear appearing now, I'm cryin′, ain't I?
Gone to Carolina in my mind
There ain′t no doubt in no one's mind
That love's the finest thing around
Whisper somethin′ soft and kind
And hey, babe the sky′s on fire,
I'm dyin′ ain't I?
Gone to Carolina in my mind

I could hear this sweet, pure voice sing this beautiful song forever. JT is the quintessential American troubadour & I love him.
I do, too. He's mine. I'm just sharing him.❤
Been loving and listening to our wonderful James since 1970. He's timeless. 💙💙💙💙💙💙

Love James ❤ from the beginning of his career ! With that great voice & wonderful songwriting he has charmed me all these years. Thanks for being you !
"Charmed" sums it up perfectly.
I dated a wonderful woman who introduced me to James Taylor's music. The relationship ended decades ago, but the music lives on. :)

Oh I love James Taylor. I listen to him every day with my husband ❤ 1:33
Forever the most beautiful bridge ever written.
My wife of 37 years passed away in July. I thought I was starting to put myself back together. Then I heard this song after Kris passed. It’s an old favorite, but the lyrics hit me like a ton of brick and I can’t stop listening to it
We're so sorry for your loss, Kevin.
One of the best renditions.
Thank you James
So beautiful. A masterpiece in any artistic genre.
Class Act😊
Great version, and James just delivers the goods... and Arnold McCuller on backup vocals couldn't be more perfect!

As an NC State Chemistry major '71 and later UNC-CH MBA '73, I dated mostly UNC-Chapel Hill coeds. The Dean of UNC's Medical School Dr. Isaac Taylor MD had very musically gifted children: Alex (b. 1947), James (b. 1948), Kate (b. 1949), Livingston (Liv) (b. 1950), and Hugh (b. 1952). They would play in clubs in their teens and early 20s around Chapel Hill, Raleigh (NC State) and Durham (Duke) with the siblings supporting each other's gigs.
When James Tayor went to England to record for the Beatles Apple label in 1968, record stores in Chapel Hill imported the UK album for the local fan base before the 1969 US release. I've had seen James in club venues, but nothing prepared me for time my date and I went to see both Kate & Liv Taylor in a tiny club on a weeknight. After the first few songs James, with his date Carly Simon, came in and joined his younger siblings playing for a crowd of about 30 folks. Watching closeup a couple deeply in love sing duets to each other was electric and beyond belief. Best.Concert.Ever and an experience my date Sharon and I will never forget.
Es un clásico Maravilloso de Mr Tailor
I grew up listening to the Live album from 1995. We'd have the album in the car on long drives. This is one of my favorites. That opening riff is so memorable.
Man does that sound familure.
Had a James Taylor poster on my wall as a teen.
Love him!
Love to hear this music

0:36 you can hear JT jamming a snippet of the intro of the beautiful “My Travelling Star” a good couple of years before it’s release...(2002)🤯
I heard that James and his second wife, Kathryn Walker, absolutely treasured their time together in England on this tour. What a team they were!! I wonder where Kathryn is now?
Grew up 90 miles North of you James. I know a friend you grew up with. (Carly, (not Simon)). Always great to hear your work. Take care!

Don't forget Arnold McCuller on backing vocals!
🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷
❤❤
Good.
❤👌
He was the drummer for Genesis back in the 80’s when the group lost yet another frontman vocalist. The group decided, hey, let’s try the drummer,…..they never looked back. After Genesis his solo career was wonderful also.
"I don't have much to say. Thought I'd call you up anyway"....
Did I miss the Friday fun day ?
Четко
Why was Kate Markowitz not thete?
I dont like the back up singer. He sings louder than JT and your not supposed to do that your supposed to compliment them.
