I have a question, there is much debate over how much we are meant to fill the bubble trap before turning it the right side up… are we meant to fill it half way or all the way, and is the same as the standard fluid warming set if you can please address this? Thank you
Hi Ajay, The 3M™ Ranger™ Blood/Fluid Warming Pediatric Set (Catalog 24450) and 3M™ Ranger™ Blood/Fluid Warming Standard Flow Sets (Catalog 24200, 24240, 24250) contain a bubble trap that does not eliminate air automatically. Any air accumulated in the bubble trap must be manually removed by the health care provider. The tubing must be primed, including the bubble trap, with blood/fluid to purge all air in the line to help minimize the risk of air embolism to the patient. The following is an excerpt from the IFUs: 1. Prime all tubing to purge air from the line. Invert the bubble trap while priming and fill. 2. Turn the bubble trap right side up and prime the patient line. 3. Place the bubble trap, right side up, into the holder on the warming unit. Prior to use, consult detailed instructions contained in the Instructions for Use supplied with the product.
@@SolventumMedicalello Team, thank you for getting back to me I understand however that was not my question, my question was whether we should fill the bubble trap completely or half way prior to inverting and fitting in place. Many thanks
Hi! To clarify, the 3M™ Ranger™ Blood/Fluid Warming Pediatric Set (Catalog 24450) and 3M™ Ranger™ Blood/Fluid Warming Standard Flow Sets (Catalog 24200, 24240, 24250) contain a bubble trap. The tubing and bubble trap must be primed with blood/fluid to purge all air to help minimize the risk of air embolism to the patient. This includes completely filling the bubble trap with blood/fluid
