Rocket Racoons win rate vs other strategists win rate, need to be taken into context with the ban rate for those characters. A higher usage mitigated losses in higher ranks, lower use through bans reduce the total number which maintains the % win rate for that character. More opportunity to use a character and win, offsets the losses as a %, you're welcome.
@@qthequick scarlet witch is terrible she does not heed a nerf also she at least has to aim the right click unlike both dagger and cloak which are pure auto aim
Truthfully I think C&D have a bad winrate because people just aren’t as good at them as they think they are. I have a friend with tons of hours in them and people keep auto locking in C&D and they are almost always way worse than my friend is at the character (which given their play time isn’t surprising). It seems they are viewed as easy because of their auto aim healing but I think they are harder than they look given how many choices they have and cds they can juggle. I don’t personally play them much because I’m terrible at using cloaks right click. Also their ult needs its visuals updated. Too many people dying from not standing on it.
The issue here is that most people watching this are no higher than gold and the meta is completely different depending on the rank (ie. The Hulk is great at higher elos but gets little value in lower elos.). Also, a lot of these characters require mechanical skill like Hela and most bronze/silver/gold players can't aim anyway. It all depends on the rank. A great example is Wanda, who can team wipe in bronze but isn't even considered for play in diamond+.
@@Griffith74 Good wandas are still good. Its just very very niche. Like if you want to shut down flankers. Where she really shines is in the double invis woman matchup. She can pretty much completely wipe a team when both pop their ults. The best use for her ult is pretty much zoning. Like forcing back a push from an angle. It's not a team wipe, it's a certain one target who overextend kill or clear ult.
Im a certified rocket hater. I judge you for choosing to main a braindead easy character like rocket. You are the mercy mains of marvel rivals. Worst of all, rocket forces his team into very specific comps to make rocket shine (triple support, punisher/bucky) Also, please don't listen to coach mills. Many of his deductions from these stats are very flawed. I am only here because I'm addicted to marvel rivals content, and as far as content goes, I consider this video to be slop. Edit: an example of a marvel rivals content creator who's opinions I do consider valuable is nate150k
I get a rocket in like 20% of my games & they either never drop the ammo thing or they only use it once or twice all game lmao..... then they finally use it & I wipe their whole team 😂
brother it may feel like that sometimes but when you are getting run down by a wolverine and all you hear is enjoy the amplifier you're gonna hate your life
Rocket might be EZ to use but mastering hiding your BrB, never dying and adding DPS at the right time is what makes a gud rocket. Pretty sure he gets his ULT the fastest too
My thought is that Cloak and Dagger is so OP that she's often picked by trash players that try to use her to compensate for how bad they are and it doesn't work out great
It's actually because she gets insane stats like 50k healing and 15k damage with high final hits so your mmr ends up very high and you get paired with low mmr teammates. Trust me I tried with a friend and he got his second account easily to gran master while mostly playing Rocket, he plays bucky on his main. Storm gets great stats but not the insane damage of squirrel, namor, punisher that's why she doesn't raise your mmr as much.
As long as you're dealing a lot of damage, and have 2 other supports. You need 2 defensive ults to match 2 defensive ults, which is why the best rocket in the world runs a 3 support combo so he can focus on damage and being annoying with a side of heals
Or just use off angles healls and get at least 1 or 2 picks people like to complain but most of the time they just lack skill me included and im a rocket main and solo ranked to diamond 3
The most insane thing to me is even after looking at the current state of hawkeyes gameplay. We still have that one bronze player who got hit with a 1/18 headshot, logs off the game and starts advocating to nerf him even more.
Rocket is strong because he got infinite heals built into his heal and he got great mobility, and a good teamup. He's also able to avoid high skill dive, which means he can't be punished as easily for being out of position, while also being able to heal team mates out of LOS. Combine that with him being a low prio target because of his mobility, that means you basically have a free healer in the backline constantly, while also being able to negate the kills on the other team mates that were considered a target. Meanwhile luna, dagger and invis woman are high prio targets that get solo ulted. Storm is soo strong because she builds ult way faster than anything else pretty much combined with the constant damage boost around you. Basically you're always able to trade a defensive ult for a attack one AND get picks once the engage is over. Magik is terrifying because of her one-shot combo for almost all squishy targets, aswell as her "get out of jail for free". Good Magiks matchup is pretty much always a loss. Penni is the classic area denial hero. She can pretty much entierly deny all flanks, and or shut down a backline. Combine that with being a great wolverine counter and being able to force backline targets into unfavourable positions and you got a really oppressive tank. Mantis is hella fun. Same situation as with Storm. The damage boost straight up wins fights. Having a strange-off and enemy strange's shield breaks a few seconds before yours, and its pretty much a won fight. Fantastic should be played like a dive denial hero. The reason he's so "weak" right now is because he's not meant to brawl. He's supposed to peel his backline, turn around and fight in the front. His E gives so much shield its almost criminal. Pretty sure the reason invisible woman is so low in win rate is because she never gets her team up or the peels from mr incredible that she really needs to pop off. Loki is amazing just because he can either defensive ult or offensive ult depending on the situation. Know the enemy have no def ult? Copy an offensive. Know they will use an engage? Pop your team mates defensive ult. Combine that with his rune ability which is literally better than any defensive ult in the game AND it can be used at a range AND wont be solo ulted. Pop E, hit shift, your team mate just healed instead of took damage. Just insane. The only changes i'd make this season is; Reduce Storms ult build speed and reduce the cooldown on Adams E by 1 second. Thats pretty much it.
What you said flies in low ranks, but if you don’t have 2 defensive ults in gm+ lobbies you are basically throwing. Only time he’s good is as a 3rd support. Hitting q is too strong and even if you can still kill through defensive ults when rocket ults too it’s just not as consistent. Of all the hero’s in the game rocket mains are by far the most toxic. Even in my gm lobbies 99% of the time almost Everyone isn’t toxic but if someone is they are very likely on rocket.
As a storm main, I agree on the storm analysis. They buffed her damage (which increases ult charge speed) and also buffed her ult but didn’t increase her ult cost. If they increased her ult cost she’d be far more reasonable as yeah she farms ult insanely fast after the damage buffs
Rockets heal cannot miss and his Revive is one of the big parts of why he has crazy stats but one important thing people esp in high elo are figuring out that his ult combo with other ults like Squirrel girl or even just infinite ammo punisher/Bucky can kill through support ults which is massive killing through support ult is a game winner since people will not expect it and often wont press other support ults and end up dying along side em Dont hit me with the Luna can also give you 40% dmg boost well Rocket can heal while giving it to you
I just wish that he wasn't in every comp I play in. I see him in a majority of my teams and I'd just like if people stopped forcing him man like sometimes you need more burst heals and the revive is good but I'd like to not die in the first place😅.
Low plat so my opinion might not be the most accurate, but I think one major issue for low ranked rockets is that they only spam the heal and dont shoot their gun. The damage might suck, but any point of damage is additional pressure for the enemy team. Not to mention, the healing from the orbs dont stack, so spamming the orbs doesn't achieve anything
@@lmpoknyaNah shooting his gun is the issue, it’s no point of doing it unless you find someone low or singled out. As soon as you stop spamming his heals you’re putting everyone else at risk, since he has no burst heal capabilities. He’s not really meant for creating pressure, the games I win with a rocket on my team he has no damage
his gun is fantastic lol shreds any divers while having fantastic mobility you can weave it in when your teams full to break utility and shields with that ult . he’s my idk what else to do character in gm and celestial lobbies
lol you sound like a rocket main. If you don’t have 2 defensive ults in gm+ you’re basically throwing. He’s only good as a 3rd support. You will lose to the enemy team pressing q if you have a rocket on your team. I’ve had games where we had more Elims, damage and we were the better team but our rocket refused to switch off and we lost solely because of dps ults. We would hold perfect with no deaths until they ulted. Plus while what you said may be right in theory even in high ranks it’s not consistent enough to kill through ults to justify picking rocket over Luna, C&D or invisible woman. In low ranks where people don’t know how to manage cooldowns, have bad mechanics, and don’t ult properly then yeah he can be good. Or if you have Bucky on your team for the team up, but overall I’d take 2 defensive ults over him 100% of the time. I don’t mind if he’s a 3rd support though. Most games have 3 supports in diamond+ anyways. Rocket players are always the most toxic and refuse to switch. Even in gm where most people tend to not be toxic and generally work good together as a team there’s always a toxic rocket main that mutes comms and won’t switch.
But they still tell a very cohesive story that a good player can finish themselves with a bit of intelligence. That’s what you “stats don’t tell the full story” people don’t seem to understand. It tells enough of the story for a good player to fill in the blanks.
what class you play bro? I’m telling you try and convince your team to swap into a 3 man team up like the namor luna Jeff. I love hulk and mister fantastic feels great into situations where you need to take space
@Iforgor777 lmao the class don't matter when my own groot walls off the my teams spawn door on a capture point map just to prevent us from contesting since we lost the first round and they don't want to try to win and would litterally rather give up and type gg in chat
I'll never understand such childish, loser behavior from those types of people 1 thing doesnt go their way and they throw a tantrum and take it out on the team, it's like why do they even play?
He already knows and rocket is growing on him. He played last night as Bucky and had a rocket constantly boosting him and he was like “I’m starting to like rocket”
Penny main - most people think they can tank the mine damage or are completely obvious to them. If you play on your web, you are immune to Logans dive. Playing against people aware of the mine dispenser is tough, but proper placement and good team comp negates that almost completely. And you get a free kill every time you are on defense at the begging of the match.
Agreed I've been having fun throwing the mines on walls behind the enemy teams healers and a few by my healers for divers. I'll usually get a free kill or two while holding the other team back.
the reason storm has such a high winrate is, in my opinion, that she hard-counters dive. her thunder boosted E is an instant, auto-hitting 35 damage (basically automatically taking out any shield charged by someone like magik or panther) on anyone in its range that hits every 2 seconds, plus increased damage from your team to take out a diver faster. she flies, so characters like black panther will struggle against her unless theyre really good or its a really tight spot on the map, and it also helps target any divers trying to escape. and then she also still helps the team in a fight even if shes focussing a backliner, simply because of that buffed damage that makes your team better at fighting tanks. pretty much her entire kit puts an insane amount of pressure on enemy divers to time their dives well, and more importantly, to get out safely, which means less aggression and therefore less pressure from said enemy divers on your healers. imo at a similar level to peni whilst also being far easier to use on offense and being way better at finishing off enemies consistently. this, in combination with the fact many storm players were already playing her in season 0 when she was a lot worse, which required them to do better to achieve the same level of worth, and now they suddenly have a very strong character who they already know how to play, and who very few know how to counter. one of the few effective ways to beat a team with a storm is to take out the storm, at long range, quickly. aka hela or hawkeye, who also both got nerfed, and who require significant aim, which most lower rank players do not have at a good enough level to beat her consistently and quickly enough to win team fights. thats just my take as a storm main since season 0 though. TL;DR: storm is really damn strong against dive teams and always has value even when focussing divers, in combination with many storm players already playing her in season 0. her strongest counterplay also got nerfed.
I'm also a season 0 Storm main and I agree. I think that her win rate is partially because people don't seem to respect enemy Storms yet. It's intuitive that you need to take out Punisher's turret before you can advance, or that you need to stay out of Hawkeye's sightlines, or that you stay away from Peni's nest, but to me it seems that players on all levels haven't internalized the fact that Storm's sphere of influence is dangerous and that as long as Storm is alive the other team is getting buffed. Whenever I play against Storm I make sure to kill her first during any team fight because most of the time if no one focuses her, your team will either lose or need an ult to win. Add in the fact that Storm's ult can kill your backline at any moment. All that means that she should be a priority target or at least someone who's area you need to respect on the battlefield, but players still don't really treat her like one. Hopefully they won't nerf her just because she's winning this season (ok maybe nerf her ult a bit but don't bring her back to season 0). Storm really isn't that hard to counter. She's always with her team floating a little above everyone else. Players just need to start pinging her and shooting her before engaging in a dive or a team brawl. I'm probably going to regret telling people that they need to kill my main more.
@ spidey is definitely the diver that is good against her, because hes so absurdly fast and good at doing burst damage, aswell as already wanting to jump in, do like 2 attacks, and leave immediately constantly anyway. good spideys have definitely messed me up a few times as storm. luckily most spideys arent good lol.
As a season 0 storm main you’re right, a lot of people don’t really know how to counter her, the only characters I really have a problem with are Spider-Man’s and Hawkeyes
I play a lot of fps games, so my aim is good. I usually play support, but when we have enough healers I play Hela and do really well with her. When supporting, I play mostly CnD (but also like Rocket and Adam Warlock). I can aim, so am not using her as a crutch. However, I do find that not having to concentrate on aiming is a plus, as I can then pay really close attention to my positioning, where my teammates are, where the main enemy group and its divers are, and keeping a mental track of who has and hasn't used their ultimates. A bad CnD player will just spam left click and shut their brain off as they don't have to aim. A good CnD player takes advantage of that freed up mental bandwith to really monitor the battlefield and keep on top of everything.
Yo please don't just heal bot as rocket, a single ball stays on a person for 5 seconds and any others just fly past em to the next person, you can take these seconds to build ultimate and pressure through your minigun rather than holding a single button all game 🎉
That’s how you stack ur heals tho on a tank the slow one stays on him and you keep hitting him with the fast ones. You can pocket heal with him if you do it right, gotta bounce them orbs
People call me crazy for banning cloak and dagger along with magik But they don’t understand These one tricks are actually useless when their main gets banned and they are extremely powerful
Only problem is your teammates also might be a Cloak or Magik main 😭 with a 50% pick rate you’re basically guaranteed to have someone who mains C&D or plays her a lot.
As a C&D main I’ve found in platinum that slowing down not worrying about ulti charge and focusing on team picks even if less score leading to better games
I think peni is actually really good, but it’s not just about spamming net stuns. The big difference is placing your nets well and stacking mines to get picks. Even in top elo, it works really well if you have them placed correctly. You can also use them to stop support ults if you can predict when they’ll be used.
Another thing with rocket having such a high win rate is the kit is meant to keep constant heals that instantly reacts to damage and reduces burst deaths. This can be done with other heroes but not many players have gotten the hang of recognizing who is taking the most damage at a time (who is taking damage at the highest rate)
Magik has high winrate because she is a mix between Brawl and dive. She can get that early pick on supports or squishy heros while also being able to apply HEAVY pressure to tanks. She is absolutely what carried me to GM because of the ability to completely switch her role and fit into any team comp thats not poke. She is a little more on the technical side where if your not in range she can get punished hard because of low sustain at range that allows her to brawl. She mostly benefits from old OW players playing her because of the intuitive ability to manage abilities.
Defensive ultimates kinda skew ult economy in your opponents' favor, don't they? Luna can heal so much with her ult but that's healing she won't get ult charge for, and the enemy team can keep shooting her team to charge their ults and have it ready when she stops dancing. In comparison, Rocket's ult helps your team build their ults. Did I figure it out or am I trippin?
You make a really good point actually. All "pro players" guides say you shouldnt fight in Luna´s ult, but i never saw it from your perspective. But Luna´s team still building ult too, so only she is falling behind. But granted her ult is one of the most expensive to build...
I think it’s something plenty of people think about and probably try to utilize but in a manner where it’s a secondary focus rather than the primary focus which is winning out the fight by burning the support that just used their ult
Any team comp can be made to work up until ~celestial or eternity if you understand why you’re using it Have storm and black widow play at a height so that your own teams’ groot walls aren’t obscuring enemies Rocket needs to be able to get the heals out when Thor gets cut off but it’s fine cause his bounce and anyone that understands the bounces can handle it Mantis should be giving damage buffs to the main ults like Rocket’s or anyone falling behind the economy or to set up a combo There’s more to it in a team comp than just these suggestions but they’re meant to cover the comp’s weaknesses
I got my Xbox roughly 15 days ago. I hit diamond 2 today with just rocket. I don’t play anything else and he never gets banned d3+. He’s good at any level and has a high win rate.
Bogur made a video recently about the triple support meta. He showcased cloak and dagger going from 8% ult to full in just 19 seconds. That's a little crazy.
I'm not sure how many people are aware of this, but Peni also counters Magik HARD AF! I mean like, I rarely rarely RARELY ever die to a Majik when I'm playing Peni. The only time she ever wins that fight is if I don't know she's there or someone has already previously damaged me. Otherwise if it's me versus her 1v1 and she does NOT have the element of surprise, I will just ALWAYS win. I know what kind of damage she can inflict upon my backline, so I swap my focus to her immediately, web her up, & bury her in mines. She is the SECOND easiest pick for me go grab, with the first one being Iron-Fist. People don't seem to realize that you can pretty much deploy all of Peni's abilities at once. So the mili-second that web hits, I'm shooting mines & I try to predict whether or not they're going to attempt to flea, or commit to the fight. If I think they'll flee, I launch those mines in their exit pathway. If I think they're gonna try to pressure me, I put the mines closer to me & the success rate that I find with this strat is UNREAL! Peni is such a cluch anti-dive character. She's a real menace to players that 1 trick dive. Even Black Panther players do not present a big enough threat. I personally think that Peni is without a doubt the most slept on Vanguard in the whole game!
Told all ya'll non-believers Rocket was GUDDD. - Sincerely A Humble Not So Humble Slightly Sadistic Rocket Lord. Much love to all the ppl who shared my beliefs & love for the Rocket man. We vibin on a whole different level in this community
Whenever storms on my team it honestly feels like an instant dub. Like I never lose when I have a good storm player. I feel like storm, squirrel girl, magic an namor are kinda owning all dps currently
Yes please make a storm guide! I’ve been maining her with about 12 hours on her and she’s definitely brought my game to the next level. An advanced guide will be great.
Do you think part of Invisible Woman's lower win rate is that she's a new character and people play her, without fully understanding the optimal way to use her?
Loki is so underrated! He has a relatively high skill floor, sure, but he’s able to dip into so many areas of the meta. Access to verticality, insane healing, virtually infinite ult potential, there’s not much he’s missing out on.
You said Rocket’s team up wasn’t even a factor in making his win rate so high but on the GM team up page he has the highest team up pick rate by far as well as about a 53% win rate when played with his team up. Clearly it plays a role in why his overall win rate is so high
He addressed that in the video. He showed that Rocket's win rate in GM only goes up slightly with the team-up, but Punisher's and Winter Soldier's goes up significantly. Essentially, Rocket is decently likely to win regardless of the team-up.
I think biggest meta, what seemed to help me is go on quick play and play with other characters, im support main. I started to play in QP, with some vanguards and after some dps. I can flex play vanguard and support now, but just playing these on QP helped me understand better on team composition, and how my team and enemy team would kinda move around the map, which helps me as support so i can be aware and support better, rather than mindless heals
One thing people forget about rocket is he can heal from any range and neal multiple people. When you know how to position and mix in some dps he is top notch.
I know a lot of people devalue Rocket purely because his ult isn't a broken defensive ult but it's an enabling offensive ult. Rocket Ult buffing a Punisher Ult shreds through every defensive ult that isn't a C&D layering the ult over one spot and if they haven't gotten all their dashes in they'll die before that. Besides that a well placed B.R.B turns a 6v6 into a 7v6 at times. I'm not surprised by the upswing of Peni, people were stuck thinking there was only one way to play her without seeing what the more aggressive Peni players do. We're seeing players like Cringe and Premo hit some insane mine line ups from halfway across the map like CoD tomahawks/throwing knives, take unique flanking approaches and placing nests behind enemy teams and other impressive plays. People are learning and leveling up.
I wish the teamup stats didn't require all three members to count. Luna snow + Namor is probably really common (and powerful) but the stat seems to require Jeff as well, which makes the stat basically meaningless due to sample size.
I’d love a Storm guide, since I’m in Bronze and you said she’d be the best DPS to climb from there since many can’t aim (plus, I play on PS5) A video detailing every hero and their counter(s) would be great too. For instance, as Cap, Peni shuts me down. However, I know that Groot can counter her. It’s rock paper scissors, just like Pokémon.
I play Peni and my advice for Cap is to avoid her as much as possible, stay out of her nest, harass supports/backline, and apply pressure behind wherever it is she set up. In a 1 v 1, Peni counters Cap pretty hard (tanks are easy targets for her stun and Cap's damage is usually not enough to scare a good Peni away), but as long as you don't get caught by her mines, she struggles to actually secure kills on a fleeing Cap. The best way to dislodge a Peni is literally by playing where she isn't. Unlike most tanks Peni struggles to reactively protect team members and even if she pivots to stop Cap, he can reposition way faster than Peni can set up a new nest, webs, mine traps, etc. Sometimes you win a matchup by denying an opponent's value instead of directly dueling them. By avoiding her, you force her to either try to chase you and give up an entrenched position, or just let you run rampant on backline support and squishy dps. You beat the Peni by making her healers beg her to switch to another tank that can protect them or hunt you down.
@ Thanks for the advice, this is exactly what I needed to hear. I was thinking I would have to go Groot whenever there is a Peni around as I heard he is a good counter to her, directly. However, I love the strategy you shared with me. It’s true that I shouldn’t need to directly 1V1 her, but actually win by bullying her supports. I will say that if she is on a point and has her whole team huddled together, in her webs, is what really made me feel there was nothing I could do as Cap. Sometimes a team can be so coordinated it’s not even a match you can win anyway (without a coordinated team like the enemy side). I will keep your advice in mind for next time I run into a Peni (which is often). I feel that, as a Cap main, I should give you a tip on facing him since you gave me a tip for beating Peni (whom I assume you main, or close to it). You probably already know this but Cap has gruelingly long cooldowns. Even the shield has a 1 second cooldown (which stupid and they need to fix). Basically if Cap throws his shield or boops with his charge, that’s a great time to focus Cap because all important cooldowns are on like a 12 second cooldown (or something insane like that).
Wow you just made me realize unless it's Rocket who can jet and climb walls to get away from Majik all the other supports are just getting folded once there stun is invalidated.
I have a great video idea you should talk about the slang in marvel rivals like what snowfalling means, poking, cds, diving, etc etc... feel like alot of people dont know these terms including myself it would help alot making these things more clear!
Rocket and Storm are perceived as weak, because usually we have a negative bias towards aura like skills. Is hard to percibe the real value of Rocket ult or storm auras because their power is split into the team. It happens in all games and developers are aware of this, usually giving more "power budget" to it. But the pick rate of Rocket surprises me, i didnt see he so much. Also, its is my favorite sup, i love jumping and running over walls to avoid being killed, making divers waste time and still getting value because of BRB and his healing ricochet, so im happy he gets some recognition
I think your head’s stuck in last season. Storm def isn’t perceived as weak ever since her massive buff. Like he said, and from own experiences, constantly banned past diamond.
@alfuhch.6698 You are true. I didnt play so much this season. Still, I think the point sustains. People didn't play Storm because the auras, they play her because they increase their power. This is what I mean with "power budget". I'm sorry, I just use her as example, but maybe it was not the best one
@alfuhch.6698 And just to clarify. I'm not a good player, not even a hardcore one. I just want to point a thing about game design in general, not only about Rivals
@ All good. Currently, although the aura is very nice, I think the main reason people currently play her is for how amazing her ultimate is. A team-wiping ult that generates as ridiculously fast as hers is a problem. I agree the damage and speed boosts are just happy bonuses, not exactly the primary reason.
As a storm main from the beginning of season 1, I’ve won literally over 50% of matches wether I’m good or not. I just have to keep pressure. Players don’t know how to stay away from her and get melted
Surprised to see Moon Knight struggle against high dive DPS on average. I’ve always found myself able to outburst them when I have an Ankh, and run away when I don’t
Grandmaster Cloak and Dagger main here. Here’s the deal, Cloak is an easy mechanical strategist but people are playing her/him all wrong. A word of advice: Stop sacrificing yourself to heal your teammates, stop using your bubble on anyone but yourself and your other healers, and use your damage at least 30% of the time. In my matches, 80% of the time I have the top healing by 10k AND the highest dmg output by any of the other healers. 95% of the time, I have the most healing. Your main focus as a healer of any kind, but especially as Cloak, is to stay alive. You should have the lowest deaths in the lobby, unless there’s a rocket in the game, because you can literally single-handedly carry fights where you are down a hero if you use your cloak ability to slip away from a dive, use your bubble to survive dmg, and blind attackers targeting you. Use your whole kit (in the appropriate situations) and live, at all costs; I swear to you if you do this, you will climb as Cloak and you’ll get that positive win-rate. Also important: like with most heroes, you should either specialize in Cloak or choose a character that’s easier I.e. rocket. Cloak seems easy, but if you’re dying consistently or dying first in fights, then you need to swap. This hero needs you to specialize, not flex to her/him. Mantis is 100% guaranteed healing with crazy dmg output (far more like a dps for you flexing dps mains) and Rocket has the easiest healing mechanic and a free life for a teammate. If you’re flexing, flex to these heroes, not cloak. Hope this helps! Love this community and love the content! Eye-opening stats and inpu 🎉
Rocket is the top healer because Rocket players are actually trying to heal their teammates. Luna, C&D and Invis all try to get kills until they get their Ult.
I’m so tired of trying to explain to people on Reddit why Rocket is good, actually. People just SERIOUSLY struggle to look at strategists in a contextual way. They want to just look at them 1-to-1, and often comparing individual ults instead of entire kits. And THEN they struggle to conceptualize the playmaking capacity of strategists beyond healing. Part of this is that Luna’s ult DOES have a pretty incredible use case for its most impactful possible use - completely contesting overtime. Which CAN be the difference between a win and a loss. But that’s one possible way it plays out. And it requires you to have an ult at overtime. Which you only guarantee by being super precious with it, and passing up other potential gamemaking plays just in case. Because there’s also a lot of game played outside of ult usage. Having a WEAK ult is a big problem. I mean, Cap’s is probably rarely helping decide a match. But having one that is powerful in a different way is still a powerful, play-making, and potentially game-defining ult. Plus, Rocket’s ult doesn’t lock him down at all. He’s still healing, shredding, rezzing, etc. Because, oh right, he has a 45 second rez. That thing that makes the Hela and Adam Warlock synergies so powerful? Yeah.
Rocket is only good if the player playing him is good. In exchange for not having a defensive ultimate, he theoretically should be the hardest support to kill with 2 dashes, wall climbing, and a small hitbox. I think the complaints are valid if I see a rocket have the same amount of deaths as the Luna or Cloak on my team, because then you would be providing more value by playing a support with a defensive ultimate, as you’re not utilizing Rocket’s main advantage over the other supports.
I think the problem with rocket in low rank is, if the brb brings back a useless dps, because they insta die, they just die again and waste the respawn.
I think a video like "DPS/tank guide for support mains" etc so maybe you could break down a bit how someone who wants to learn other roles but has been kinda stuck into one could be helpful, if that makes sense.
Every occasion I see a widow on our team at the character select screen I say to myself quietly we are going to automatically lose if that person doesn't switch to something else later on. And my correct guesstimate rate is 100%.
I think the discrepancy regarding the low pick rate and high win rate heroes comes down to the difficulty of the hero. Like, even though magik and storm have the best win rates, most people can’t figure out how to make them work well. The ones that do figure it out, it pays off for them and their win rate is high. Anyone else have a different idea of why there would be a discrepancy like that?
Initially, to me Rocket seemed weak compared to other healers. But giving him another chance by actually utilizing his movement+ positioning and using his E wisely changed my opinion by 180°. If u can move well with him, u: 1.) ...will be able to pump out a ton of healing cause ur so hard to focus and kill and ur constantly healing from the backlines. 2.) ...will have such a blast evading Psylockes, Panthers, Spidermen whatever.. who are failing to kill u. Having very low deaths+ a ton of healing just feels good and provides so much value to the team.
Thank you for being one of the only people not to disrespect Peni and her mains, even after the data backs us up. I'm not sure what even caused everyone to laugh at her and claim she's garbage when they first saw her, maybe because the character and voice is a little girl. But the mines are absolutely amazing. 100 damage each one and you can lay 16 at a time. You can completely own small rooms and camp health spawns. Effetively claiming them for your team and preventing the enemy getting them. Great map traversal.
As a Cap main I am always amazed by how hard it is to get people to play Thor with me. Not to mention Storm on top. I'm offering you the highest win rate team up in the game. How often will you have a Cap Lord that can carry a game in your lobby??? Take advantage of it.
@@charlieashwood dawg I’ve solo queued to Gm both seasons already. Drop the ego. If you’ve ever played overwatch there are 2 types of tanks. Main and off. Thor and cap don’t really maintain space for the rest of the team to take advantage of. They are usually harassing the enemy backline. Which is still good. But you usually don’t want two of them being tanks. Cap is good when ur team comp is more dive heavy. That’s isn’t particularly the meta rn. There’s a reason why strange magneto and groot are meta rn . They hold space better and can peel for their team better. We are not in a “dive the supports” meta rn. We are in a poke until we have support ults and then hard brawl. I still think cap is a sleeper pick tho because his ult is essentially a dagger ult but for over shield. If you are going to solo tank it better be one of the three I said earlier. Unless it’s a dive comp, an off tank is an optional addition to having a main tank
@@xxcridonxx7614 ye i always pick thor with storm but i honestly think something like magneto or groot might be a better tank to combo with thor or cap
nobody is complaining about rocket in my gm games, he gives passive healing to the whole team not just the tanks and he has a free revive every 45 seconds, he doesn't feel underpowered at all besides not having a defensive ult which is the only reason I would ask a rocket to switch.
@@odd02 switch? Luna and dagger even sue get banned like every game. Maybe mantis ig but idk I do pretty well with rocket his survivability clutches a lot of games especially payload defense
Im plat and honestly man i love storm and can dominate with her, however the slight elevation of storm means no heals many times and then she is really bad
I can’t tell you how many times I get that first pick and suddenly we are losing a fight, I die I’m like how and it’s the person I killed cause of a rocket!
I’m about to be celestial. Almost every game I play, my team complains about rocket and lack of heals but somehow I win most of my games… After the match I usually check the win rates of everyone and find out I always have the highest win rate LOL.
Yea rocket has a high pick rate because of the ability to bring teammates back... Healing is lackluster mostly and most definitely needs a primary healer on hand... I know games when he's paired with adam/mantis lose more often but thats a low elo pairing anyway lmao..
When a pick rate is high, it’s automatically going to drop the win rate closer to 50%. It’s math. Having a high pick rate and a low win rate doesn’t mean a hero is bad.
Characters who have a high pick-rate (Cloak & Dagger in your first example) can have a relatively low win-rate not due to skill but due to the fact that if both teams have the character, one has to lose in order to resolve the match So your comparisons about Luna, Invisible Woman, and Cloak all having an average below 50% makes sense - they're played so often that there's typically one on both teams - the heroes you see mirrored (one on both teams) the most often will also have very low winrates Characters that are below the average of the known pick-rates can be seen as unaffected by this effect, but the higher up the pick-rate you get, the more likely of a mirror, which means more likely that the win rate will be somewhat skewed
Rocket is just lacking burst heals, sometimes if ur one shot, the rocket will start healing u and you’ll still die cause he can’t heal fast enough, someone like dagger or sue storm can get u from 0 to 100 in an instant
People need to realize that “High Winrate” doesn’t mean shit if the pick rate is low The higher the pick rate goes the lower the winrate will be, and vice-versa (storm) Most of the stats don’t tell you anything except for extreme ones like: Very low pick rate + very low winrate = probably unviable and need buffs (Widow) Highest pick rate + Highest winrate = yeah this is broken It also varies from rank to rank Source: I studied a statistics course that one time in college
i think winrates are hard to analyze because they are always influenced by community perception. of course, characters that are considered good are played a lot and drift towards 50% winrate, but also the perceived "good" characters are forced in situations or by players that aren't good, while more niche characters are scrutinized and often forced to switch in scenarios where they aren't applicable. I've never seen an underperforming cnd get told to swap, unless it was to let another player play cnd, but i have seen quite a few rough games where our rocket has to swap to cnd but we still lose (because the enemy team was just better anyway), hurting cnds winrate but softening rockets.
If Rocket wr isn't that because of BRB i would be surprised. I'd bet if they nerfed the cd on it his wr drops pretty hard. It's easily the most useful part of his kit because, unless ur running triple support, he basically doesn't get to use his left click to do any damage.
I feel like Luna is a bad character when she has to look in 20 different directions to heal her teammates + do damage, but if both teams are relatively grouped up she can put in some serious work
The people who have a good reason to not like Rocket are pros who play with other other pros who all play at near perfect levels so they can coordinate ults making the other supports ults way better, For everyone else you dont really have that coordination to exploit that pressure from their ults and there is always someone dropping the ball and dying in opportune times, so his revive becomes invaluable.

A great example is Wanda, who can team wipe in bronze but isn't even considered for play in diamond+.
ive been in quite a few matches with wanda in high elo
Yep. Wanda is straight trash in even plat lobby, but her ult works almost every time on gold and below lobbies.
Low elo is just really random. There is a lot of plat/diamond smurfs as well.
Why is that a problem?
@@Griffith74 Good wandas are still good. Its just very very niche. Like if you want to shut down flankers.
Where she really shines is in the double invis woman matchup. She can pretty much completely wipe a team when both pop their ults.
The best use for her ult is pretty much zoning. Like forcing back a push from an angle. It's not a team wipe, it's a certain one target who overextend kill or clear ult.
Hardest part of being a Rocket main is ignoring your teams complaints in the beginning of a match.
yup
When they compare you to the trash rocket they had in their last lobby. Rocket is an excellent team-first character

True dat
Im a certified rocket hater. I judge you for choosing to main a braindead easy character like rocket. You are the mercy mains of marvel rivals.
Worst of all, rocket forces his team into very specific comps to make rocket shine (triple support, punisher/bucky)
Also, please don't listen to coach mills. Many of his deductions from these stats are very flawed. I am only here because I'm addicted to marvel rivals content, and as far as content goes, I consider this video to be slop.

As a winter soldier main getting a rocket off the start feels like a free win most of the time
100% buckys become machine guns and honestly when I see the team up I scrabble to tell my team to kill the rocket bc we all die too fast to be in duel
I get a rocket in like 20% of my games & they either never drop the ammo thing or they only use it once or twice all game lmao..... then they finally use it & I wipe their whole team 😂

Rocket might be EZ to use but mastering hiding your BrB, never dying and adding DPS at the right time is what makes a gud rocket. Pretty sure he gets his ULT the fastest too
I've been maining rocket this season and I have a 67% win rate and average 9 revives per 10 with 25k healing per 10
He’s still one of the easiest to learn what you’ve said does separate a good rocket to a bad one but he’s still incredibly easy to learn good but easy
@@berniechoy5482 thats insane dude
I’m averaging 20k healing but 5k damage and 15 kills in diamond lobbies, you’re not playing him to his potential. Your just healing lol
Yeah if you die as rocket you’re practically losing two lives (revive breaks) so it’s essential to not die or you’re throwing super hard
Rocket basically makes any fight a 7v6. It’s really that simple as to why he’s winning.
This vindicates me as a rocket main. Recently lost a few games and had my party complain about the lack of defensive ults on our team.
I mean ur team got a point no hate
Did you ult when the other team defensive ulted like every rocket
@@brianp9268 A member of my party plays Punisher and I ult to combo with them or to amp pressure after a pick. I ain’t your gold rocket lol.
Mygod😅😅😅😅😅
He’s still nasty imo in the right hands
Even in my gm lobbies 99% of the time almost
Everyone isn’t toxic but if someone is they are very likely on rocket.
As a storm main, I agree on the storm analysis. They buffed her damage (which increases ult charge speed) and also buffed her ult but didn’t increase her ult cost. If they increased her ult cost she’d be far more reasonable as yeah she farms ult insanely fast after the damage buffs
Hey man, there’s other things to say than “pretty (much)”
@@Mral236d why would you say gm+ when you are at the bottom of the range, you can speak for gm and lower but not +
This was a really good breakdown, and I completely agree and I think most average to advanced players would agree with the synopsis
As a season 0 and 1 high gm player, really anything is playable
True, really depends on player.
Finally someone who understands Rocket!
Rockets heal cannot miss and his Revive is one of the big parts of why he has crazy stats but one important thing people esp in high elo are figuring out that his ult combo with other ults like Squirrel girl or even just infinite ammo punisher/Bucky can kill through support ults which is massive killing through support ult is a game winner since people will not expect it and often wont press other support ults and end up dying along side em
Dont hit me with the Luna can also give you 40% dmg boost well Rocket can heal while giving it to you
I just wish that he wasn't in every comp I play in.
“Stats don’t lie”
Stats don’t tell the whole story.
But they still tell a very cohesive story that a good player can finish themselves with a bit of intelligence. That’s what you “stats don’t tell the full story” people don’t seem to understand.
It tells enough of the story for a good player to fill in the blanks.

She’s easily countered with spidey especially if there’s a venom. Her damage boost tho is nice and her ult is ridiculous
You can pocket heal with him if you do it right, gotta bounce them orbs

so good to see this channel super active again and to hear that excitement in your voice again
Luna can also switch to damage at her convenience as well, its the same % dmg as Rocket's.
@@Reaver102Though there is the fact she can’t heal and damage boost at the exact same time whereas an ulting rocket can

Groot ,
Thor ,
Storm ,
Black Widow ,
Rocket Raccoon
Mantis
I’m seeing a vision
Pros will never play that, but it can work
What about them?
Any team comp can be made to work up until ~celestial or eternity if you understand why you’re using it
Have storm and black widow play at a height so that your own teams’ groot walls aren’t obscuring enemies
Rocket needs to be able to get the heals out when Thor gets cut off but it’s fine cause his bounce and anyone that understands the bounces can handle it
Mantis should be giving damage buffs to the main ults like Rocket’s or anyone falling behind the economy or to set up a combo
There’s more to it in a team comp than just these suggestions but they’re meant to cover the comp’s weaknesses
Would love to see the win rate charts in the videos. Went to rivals tracker it’s not hard it just would be a little quality of life boost imo
I got my Xbox roughly 15 days ago. I hit diamond 2 today with just rocket. I don’t play anything else and he never gets banned d3+. He’s good at any level and has a high win rate.

Shhh! you're talking too much 😂 Let them keep underestimating her
Told all ya'll non-believers Rocket was GUDDD.
I’m so happy to hear my boy rocket is getting some love
I've played rocket as a solo support and we still put up hell of a fight but you have to just sit there and heal pretty much. Love using rocket
Yes please make a storm guide! I’ve been maining her with about 12 hours on her and she’s definitely brought my game to the next level. An advanced guide will be great.
Rocket : stats don't lie
Luna invis : here is why the stats are wrong
😂
a separate “meta list” or something like that would be nice , because i think that the defined “meta” differs in plat to gm yk?
Hawkeye just needs more defensive utility. It’s so hard to stay alive in any fight that becomes anything more than a 1v1
I love how every youtuber has 10% not subscribed with the same screenshot
Usually it’s 80-20 rule. Roughly 80% not subscribed.
Do you think part of Invisible Woman's lower win rate is that she's a new character and people play her, without fully understanding the optimal way to use her?
It's wild. After looking at every kit when i got Rivals, I thought to myself, "Rocket, Cloak and Dagger, and Namor, fit my playstyle." Nice.
I’m already subscribed, you make great guides! I’d like to see a guide comparing every healers healing abilities and healing potential
Loki is so underrated! He has a relatively high skill floor, sure, but he’s able to dip into so many areas of the meta. Access to verticality, insane healing, virtually infinite ult potential, there’s not much he’s missing out on.
On the topic of rocket I think his value increases when there is bans in play because there are less ults that team wipe in play.
You said Rocket’s team up wasn’t even a factor in making his win rate so high but on the GM team up page he has the highest team up pick rate by far as well as about a 53% win rate when played with his team up. Clearly it plays a role in why his overall win rate is so high
It's stupidly good when paired with his ult. I usually wait a minute for them to line up if it won't take too long.
I’d love a Storm guide, since I’m in Bronze and you said she’d be the best DPS to climb from there since many can’t aim (plus, I play on PS5)
A video detailing every hero and their counter(s) would be great too.
Basically if Cap throws his shield or boops with his charge, that’s a great time to focus Cap because all important cooldowns are on like a 12 second cooldown (or something insane like that).
storm is so broken but is also literally the most boring character in the game
This vid got my sub coach keep making good content much love
Wow you just made me realize unless it's Rocket who can jet and climb walls to get away from Majik all the other supports are just getting folded once there stun is invalidated.
Best tier list…kudos for putting the stats at the forefront
I have a great video idea you should talk about the slang in marvel rivals like what snowfalling means, poking, cds, diving, etc etc... feel like alot of people dont know these terms including myself it would help alot making these things more clear!
yes even the basic to the most difficult slang hopefully its video worthy
i want an in depth cap video but i sub anyways
Storm is considered one of if not the best dps character in the game right now. What are you talking about?
As an invisible woman main, I do both and just sit in the back until a diver hits me, then I just run away, lol
Nah it's that Rez beacon
Telling you are bad without telling me it
The only aggressive healer I know is Loki??? You poor soul I’d hate to see your lobbies
This is just wrong
Cloak and Dagger are picked so much for exactly the reason you said immediately after: she isn't banned much, while the other healers are.
I think a video like "DPS/tank guide for support mains" etc so maybe you could break down a bit how someone who wants to learn other roles but has been kinda stuck into one could be helpful, if that makes sense.
Its not that hard to learn yourself
Every occasion I see a widow on our team at the character select screen I say to myself quietly we are going to automatically lose if that person doesn't switch to something else later on.
And my correct guesstimate rate is 100%.
Hawkeye has a more specific role now. He's really good at chunking health out of tanks.
If u can move well with him, u:
1.) ...will be able to pump out a ton of healing cause ur so hard to focus and kill and ur constantly healing from the backlines.
It’s because dive is high key dead at higher ranks and having 2 off tanks is unfun for literally everyone else on the team other than the tanks
I see a cap and immediately pick Thor then they swap to dps, like why
@@xxcridonxx7614 What? That doesn't make any sense. If you can't play without a traditional shield frontline you won't make it to a high rank.
That's the main and possibly only reason I'll ask them to switch. That or we need abit more burst healing.
@@GealRaya he feels op with the buff he got, plus his damage boost stacks with other damage boosts
@@odd02 switch? Luna and dagger even sue get banned like every game. Maybe mantis ig but idk I do pretty well with rocket his survivability clutches a lot of games especially payload defense
@@kylesawkon4074 never are all defensive ults banned
Im plat and honestly man i love storm and can dominate with her, however the slight elevation of storm means no heals many times and then she is really bad
Play somewhat low, and around cover if going high
@dominicwilliams214 oh I agree but trust me man if you aren't on the ground no heals ahaha
How are you plat with no heals?
@@jockwithajoystick just switch into psyelocke man
I can’t tell you how many times I get that first pick and suddenly we are losing a fight, I die I’m like how and it’s the person I killed cause of a rocket!
I think it's important to note, high pick rates like dagger, are on BOTH teams at the same time. Which means one of them has to take an L
When a pick rate is high, it’s automatically going to drop the win rate closer to 50%. It’s math. Having a high pick rate and a low win rate doesn’t mean a hero is bad.
Characters who have a high pick-rate (Cloak & Dagger in your first example) can have a relatively low win-rate not due to skill but due to the fact that if both teams have the character, one has to lose in order to resolve the match
So your comparisons about Luna, Invisible Woman, and Cloak all having an average below 50% makes sense - they're played so often that there's typically one on both teams - the heroes you see mirrored (one on both teams) the most often will also have very low winrates
Characters that are below the average of the known pick-rates can be seen as unaffected by this effect, but the higher up the pick-rate you get, the more likely of a mirror, which means more likely that the win rate will be somewhat skewed
Rocket is just lacking burst heals, sometimes if ur one shot, the rocket will start healing u and you’ll still die cause he can’t heal fast enough, someone like dagger or sue storm can get u from 0 to 100 in an instant
The other thing Rocket has: His healing has no range, can easily bounce around corners, and heals groups.
Gonna need a Doctor Strange guide with good portal techniques and locations and then I'll hit that sub ;)
I watched your whole video to catch some Thor glaze and you mentioned him for 1 second! I wanted to hear you talk about him
People need to realize that “High Winrate” doesn’t mean shit if the pick rate is low
The higher the pick rate goes the lower the winrate will be, and vice-versa (storm)
Most of the stats don’t tell you anything except for extreme ones like:
Very low pick rate + very low winrate = probably unviable and need buffs (Widow)
Highest pick rate + Highest winrate = yeah this is broken
It also varies from rank to rank
Source: I studied a statistics course that one time in college
I’ve been climbing gold lobbies with my buddies and just going GROOT and Moonknight and combining Ults
i think winrates are hard to analyze because they are always influenced by community perception. of course, characters that are considered good are played a lot and drift towards 50% winrate, but also the perceived "good" characters are forced in situations or by players that aren't good, while more niche characters are scrutinized and often forced to switch in scenarios where they aren't applicable.
The meta I see a lot of GM is Cloak, Rocket, Punisher, Namor & Strange. Bans are almost always Invis woman, Wolverine, Storm & Bruce Banner.
true namor value is in spawn camping when you have a couple picks in a team fight, esp support
I feel like Luna is a bad character when she has to look in 20 different directions to heal her teammates + do damage, but if both teams are relatively grouped up she can put in some serious work
The people who have a good reason to not like Rocket are pros who play with other other pros who all play at near perfect levels so they can coordinate ults making the other supports ults way better, For everyone else you dont really have that coordination to exploit that pressure from their ults and there is always someone dropping the ball and dying in opportune times, so his revive becomes invaluable.
i think a reason rockets win rate is high is because most of the time hes played with a 3 healer comp which r dominant right now
How do they calculate the statistics? Did the hero have to be played the majority of the match or just picked at some point?
Have you did a composition guide yet?
