I have a friend who is a Syrian refugee. I would never ever ask his experiences but holy crap this is infinitely more horrifying than I ever could have imagined people having to go through.
It is not that simple, the biggest pillar supporting the Syrian fascist regime is a coalition of minorities mainly Alwaites, Christians, Druzes, Ismailites.. because those communities know well what atrocities and oppression by the Muslim Sunni arab majority in an Islamic Republic ruled by shariaa, I also have a Syrian friend who is pro regime and his explanation is either us or them, or we would rather have no Syria at all then leave it to sunnis who will expell us from our homes slowly and steadily.
@@gostavoadolfos2023 I mean if Saudi Arabia accepted many migrants who are non-Muslim Whom many are treated decently and if there have already been rights to them and if the Ottoman empire gave rights to Christians same with the Abbasids and Umayyads then i don't think that the ''Evil Muslim Sunni Arab Majority'' are going to kill and expel everyone who isn't like them also Sharia not ''Shariaa'' is literally Islamic law that was made by Muslim scholars in 9th or 10th century entirely based by the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah not anything else, i mean it basically tells Muslims the instructions on how to do Ablution, how to pray, when and how to give Charity, When to Fast and What is Halal (permitted) or Haram (prohibited) now of course it includes things like on how to rule or how to manage the economy it is also technically a judicial system and btw it gives rights to Christians and Jews as long as they pay their taxes if they are wealthy enough to pay taxes or if they are: Woman, Children, Old, poor and of course sick then they're not obliged to pay these taxes only middle or upper class Healthy Men pay them and the reason why they have to pay taxes is because Muslims have another type of Tax designated by the Quran which is basically giving 2.5% of your wealth to charities or to the needy or as support to the State Yearly and even for that you need a specific amount of Wealth that you would accumulate over a year which other non-Muslims don't so it would be fair to make Muslims pay what they have to as according to their faith and to make non-Muslims also pay up and btw this money will not only help the needy but also support military campaigns build libraries, mosques and Churches as well Hospitals which technically started in the Muslim world and first Continous University started by a Muslim women who is not secular and is very pious in the middle 9th century in Morroco. So if your saying that Sharia is evil then i guess all the Muslims especially those in the US raising 100's of millions of dollars yearly by Charity and Zakat which is commanded by the Shariah are evil or those who help a injured dog or any animal in general as commanded by The Shariah evil as well then i don't know what your perception of evil is also your literally calling the Sunnis as evil who btw account for 80-90% of all Muslims are all evil i mean i am Sunni Arab and half Syrian, half is Palestinian since my father is Palestinian and my mother is Syrian and your basically calling me a person who has been nice to every Muslim and non-Muslim i ever encountered as evil and you might think i am a exception because i might be ''Secular'' well if i am Secular then that means that i believe in a state that has nothing to do with religion that is basically separated from religion and is governed by liberal Values so all the Sinful stuff like Adultery, Alcohol, Some recitational drugs and Gambling are allowed and a person is allowed to say whatever he wants no matter how bad or evil it is and everyone is allowed to be un-modest or i might be Secular by belief like a Muslim that is non practicing like i don't fast or pray or fast or give Zakat when i can then that would of course make me a Kafir (non believing Heretic) which i don't believe in nor do i want to believe in since i am religious and i am a god fearing person so please keep your Liberal secular propaganda elsewhere its tiring dealing with some consumerist Materialistic, Godless, Secular and spoiled Westerner you get fed stuff by the west and that so called ''Friend'' clearly comes from a Family of Haters i mean my friend is a Christian ''ARAB'' yeah those exist so no Arabs are not evil whether Muslim or not nor are they entirely Muslim as according to you and also that friend Syrian Arab Christian friend always goes to Syria he tells me that kids in the neighborhood near his home in Homs are a bit aggressive but he never complains about discrimination and btw he lives in Abu Dhabi (just like me), a city in the UAE which is the country that has City of Dubai and btw this country applies the evil ''Shariah'' yet Christians make up around 10% of the population who are entirely immigrants since this place never had any Christians well prior to discovering Oil and becoming a Wealthy nation that is a hub for migration so yeah a lot of Christians entirely Migrants live there and churches built for these Christians in what you call ''Evil'' Country that applies Shariah also country is mostly Sunni as well yet a lot of Shia Persian Migrants coming from Iran and some Shia natives within the country are not discriminated upon and (no Surprise) the Christian Arab in my class is treated by the Majority Muslims in my class (including me) a really good treatment no discrimination or hatred unlike how a Arab or even Muslim student would be treated in America most of them go through discrimination sometimes by the country or students or teachers of neighbors and more.

There's a documentary on YT that I watched years ago ago about what they do to the very poor when they die. From discovering their body, to trying to find relatives. They show them placing bodies in one grave and covering it. There was a scene (I think in the same video) where they show boxes of unclaimed ashes. Imagine dying and not being returned to your loved ones, or not having the money to bury yourself with dignity
As someone who lived through a civil war and genocides, I believe that my parents or other family could've been in the same situation as this man of they took only one wrong left turn. It scares me to think that this is absolutely happening in Ukraine and Azerbaijan now and that it will most certainly happen in the future with most of the world when the greed of our forefathers comes to collect the bill.
There is already. Unfortunately he was telling the truth they found mass graves there and people who were complicit in the burial of those victims came forward and confessed.

People who say, “you would’ve had to just kill me”, are not thinking about these men and how much they loved their families. Are you really going to leave your daughters and wife to be victimized by these monsters all around you? You have to become a monster as well. You have to try to remember what it’s like to be innocent and loving and you have to hope you can still be human enough to guide your children when it’s all over. Until then you are at the mercy of the tremendous evil that has occupied your country and is turning men and women into demons. It’s literally survival. Also, the truest test of integrity. Are you willing to sacrifice yourself for your brother?
Well, THAT'S called PTSD my friend. I hope he finds peace. Edit: oh God it just keeps getting more horrifying. I remember when Raqqa was the place to be in the Middle East; full of history, culture, art, and architecture. Now, conflict has ran it into the ground.
@@casperchristensen6451 Even in 2005 it had all those cultural elements and deep historical roots, the regime was still brutal agaisnt any opposition but that is different from repeated rocket attacks and shelling in the town square. The destruction from the war itself is immense. This is why Syria is a difficult issue. The regime itself was, as we can see in the video, clearly evil but the revolution against the regime produced more destruction than existed under the regime. Also Raqqa was intensely shelled by the United States while they were besieging the town when it was under IS-control. The Pentagon said the Marine unit used more mortar muntions than any other unit since the Vietnam War.

Bull dozer. Tracked construction machines go very slow and will tear up roads just traveling on them. Not that the military cares or would even refuel it. Big machines leave plenty of evidence of their presence. Way more then hand shovels.

The suffering is so hard to observe when you're so powerless to do anything. Years ago, I stopped buying cards for people, instead I go to a charity (I think the ones I do most often are UNHCR and Plan International) and I'll buy something there. You can buy a coat for a refugee kid for like $10. They get a bit pricey, like I've bought family first aid kits and other stuff for around $100-250, it depends. But they create a card for you. So you can print or send this card, but instead of the money going to Hallmark or something, it goes to kids and families and refugees. It's a very small thing to do. I don't feel like I'm achieving anything big with it. But the idea that giving someone I love a gift and with the card, giving someone something they really need, just makes me happier than just giving the gift. If you read this, maybe consider it? I mean, a card is like $6, so why not make it $10 and get a kid a hat and coat for winter or something. There are affordable options. Why not do something good with the card money while still getting a card? Like I said, it's not moving mountains, but I mean, if we all did this, it could.

They show them placing bodies in one grave and covering it. There was a scene (I think in the same video) where they show boxes of unclaimed ashes. Imagine dying and not being returned to your loved ones, or not having the money to bury yourself with dignity
I don’t think I’d care.
@@nicolasarcana6139 good cuz we wouldnt care if you died anyway
Absolutely horrible. Great video again Vice
Absolutely lol 😂
The madness of war and conflict….
Fights to liberate the Saydnaya prison is happening now... I hope the survivors of torture will get all the help they need!
Hopefully all will be revealed in the coming days and months.
As someone lol 😂
@@thedecafe1 what are you laughing at
I know right. all so fragile.
I've heard a lot of scary stories but this one is totally the most terrifying
I’ve lol 😂
Ngl this is.
May Allah bless you, my friend. I hope that you'll find peace in your life and the lives of all Syrians.
We’re tired man..
We just want a functioning society where we can live in peace and freedom is that so much of an ask?
Brave man for speaking out
We want more informers please
When he was talking about the ice cream truck, I knew his relationship with ice cream would change forever. Stuff of pure nightmares.
Lets hope there will be an "update" on this for he sake of the victims and their loved ones.
There is already. Unfortunately he was telling the truth they found mass graves there and people who were complicit in the burial of those victims came forward and confessed.
That's beautiful he took the chance to speak God bless him on his journey may he have the best tonight all he can stand and then just a little bit more
Vice is a great informative channel,so many different topics and sides!
Vice lol 😂
This gotta be the most distributing video I've watched. Absolutely horrifying.
I cant imagine having to live with this. I hope that this guy is getting help.
And just like that, all my problems seem so miniscule and unworthy of mentioning.
I'm just glad to be alive bruh
I feel like the things he was talking about are OUR problems. Things like these should never happen on Earth in our time.
thank you for giving these people a chance to voice the horrific crimes of assad's regime. over the years i hope there will be more exposure andd more justice for the innocent lives lost
So glad this man go out. People have no idea how lucky we have it here in America. So sorry anyone who has to endure what he went through or those people who went through what they did. Of course nothing of what this man said has been in the news. Make more war crimes national news.
These are easily the best videos on vice
Big fan of this series. It would be nice to have audio translations for people who prefer to listen
Big lol 😂
Horrifying and heartbreaking. 💔 May God forgive him and may those souls of the people he was forced to bury in a mass grave rest in peace. 🙏🏾🕊
Forgive HIM?? Are you for real saying that?? Wtf kind of messed thought process does one have to have to think that god can blame this bloke for a situation he put him in and in which he's coerced under threat of death??
@@AlesAmazigh Yeah, completely batshit.
@@AlesAmazigh What kind of thought process does one have to have to think God put him in that situation?? 🤔
forgive him ???? wtf he was forced to do that
@@latyshal.2286 Should he be real. Then of course he put him in that situation. Omnipotent and all seeing. As you all say "God works in mysterious ways".
I can't touch dead. I have immense respect for those that do. Thank you.
I mean, it's not like he had a choice...
This reminds of the sonderkommandos in the death camps during the Nazi-Era, specifically Auschwitz. We can’t blame them for digging these mass graves and for herding people to their deaths. They had to do this for survival. Some might say that “you would’ve had to just kill me” but man they don’t know and I don’t know. My heart goes out to this man and countless others forced to dig and fill mass graves.
more propaganda lmao… who believe this garbage?
The syrian government was fighting against ISIS and Alqeada Rebels.. those dead bodies were terrorists.. and he’s exaggerated and added in other stuff to tug at your heart strings
Most of the guards at the camps were volunteers who were too cowardly to fight on the frontlines.
These are my favorite episodes you guys do a great job
The devil walks amongst us in flesh and blood. I hope this man can find peace, very disturbing 😭
I love these videos , I just wish they were longer , so much information to be learned to be to short ugh 😩
I love ❤️ lol 😂
I really love all these stories from informer
I really lol 😂
Well, THAT'S called PTSD my friend. I hope he finds peace.
Edit: oh God it just keeps getting more horrifying. I feel bad saying I have ptsd from childhood abuse in the face of prison babies being eaten by dogs and wasting away to 77 lbs. At least I had food, and I kept my sisters safe so i didn't see any bodies. I feel like those assholes who go around saying they have ptsd cause their dog died of old age or something. The comparison is equal in our cases here.
Ptsd is ptsd, trauma is trauma no matter how bad or how small it can seem. Everyone has their own limits to what they can handle so never feel bad.
@@Shadowhunter420 maybe the small trauma shouldn't get lumped in with the war experience trauma
@@Shadowhunter420 its different trust me
Someone who drowns in five feet of water is just as dead as someone who drowns in fifty feet of water. Trauma is trauma, it does not have to be as life-shattering as this man's story for it to have affected you. -A fellow trauma survivor
@Samuel Supernova can't argue that. be as well as you can today, friend, as i hope he is, wherever he is.
I’ve been sitting in bed with COVID telling myself other people have it worse and God had to show me this just to really prove that’s true. I hope this man is doing okay and that whatever PTSD this left behind he can find peace in life.
An imaginary friend gave you Covid as a lesson ??? I don't want such friendship and in any case i don't believe in "god", Santa Claus or unicorns...These are stories for 8 years old kids !
This is why the internet exists I hope somehow some justice is served thanks to this brave confession
I wish you guys would do voice-overs so that I can listen without having to stare at my phone

I remember when Raqqa was the place to be in the Middle East; full of history, culture, art, and architecture. Now, conflict has ran it into the ground.
I'm just curious.how far back was that?
When he said he dug a grave 15 meters by 10 meters deep in like two hours I'm like who is this guy, superman? Then I realized he must have had an excavator or something
@0:46
Bull dozer. Tracked construction machines go very slow and will tear up roads just traveling on them. Not that the military cares or would even refuel it. Big machines leave plenty of evidence of their presence. Way more then hand shovels.
He said he had one
Same, wanted to comment on that, but then he mentioned the use of heavy machinery. And what is this regime he's talking about? Assad? ISIS? No details which side he's talking about.
Yeah, I wrote that before I got to that part lol
This is a good informative series. It also adds to the creepiness with people wearing "The Purge" type of masks! I feel sorry for this guy .He did not want to do this job really. Thanks for the upload.

Bro wtf.... thank God Assad's gone now.... what on earth...
I had to stop at the child/ice cream truck part. I sincerely hope that time will bring an end to the atrocious and sickening regime. I just know the figureheads somehow pray thinking that what they're doing is necessary for Syria. Revenge and karma must do them in.
Christ,,that's unreal !!!!!!!
