Before you strike it with the Galv spray, give it a good blast with Brake Cleaner (spray) it will strip all the cutting compound and factory grease right off, helping the Galv spray to make really good adhesion, because your brief wipe with a dirty rag isnt doing anything but remove the heavy deposit.
Great test piece for an apprentice that reinforces dimensional tolerance, cutting & threading, bending to correct angles, perfect.
Jake is a blessed professional!
Nice job. And now for pulling some wires to make a lamp.
Coming soon
well done chaps. I need this for my 1 st yr c + g
fantastic. Thank you very much
Pretty crazy, we would fail inspection with running threads which is why the USA makes two piece threaded couplings, any modifications as far as spray paint on threads would go against any code violations. Good concept but just can’t do that in the states.
same principle as a slip coupler when installing drainage!
Very good 👍
Very nice, but on this side of the pond running threads are not allowed.☹
I was doing running couplers and nipples back in the 90s on mainly RAF bases as an apprentice sometimes with a conduit bender that had been repair welded.
Wouldn't it be better to just buy the nipples if they are still sold? it would save deburring and time threading?
very good
Can you do a video on how to carry out an insulation resistance test when unplugging equipment and removing lighting luminaires is impossible.
Urgh takes me back to dark times this.
Nice job Take it that all your previous efforts in the background 😅
Scrap man loves a conduit video series 😂
Nice 👍
Can you show us an example of am2 requirements specification
The American National Electric Code (NEC) prohibits the use of running threads to do what you’ve done here. Instead we use a 3 piece coupling.
Interesting- thanks Bill
I wish I had nice new dies when I was an apprentice, and “Tallow” we had to use lard 😂
where can I buy these tools?
I might be being daft, but in what circumstance would you need to bend conduit into a closed loop like this
Demo only for this - usually joining two fixed points
Cheaper than an "Ericsson" US term for rigid conduit coupling.
The only thing worse than having to do a 20mm runner is having to do a 25mm runner.
😂
Can you do top tips bending pvc conduit?
Bend over the knee and straight in the skip
Use steel instead🤪
Power theader is the way forward,
But Only after you’ve ruined your shoulders threading&bending 25mm tube for too many years, hate the sight of any metal conduit or trunking now 😢
Some sparkies called those couplers "runners "
Used to have to put my finger in to prove I'd de burred the conduit !
"I've got a natural physique" pmsl
Is this a father and son moment?
Grandpa 👴
Running threads at couplings for electrical conduit are a code violation in the United States. NEC article 344.42(B).
I understand that conduit are regulated in UK and Ireland, what I can't understand that you dont use kopex as rest of the world! No hard feelings but this is time and material loosing!
Use of a running coupler is now banned on most pharma and food/brewery sites.
Now, that said, it's many a tight fix one got me out of!
This is СГОН! 😂
🤣🤣 you electricians! this is what's called a long screw connector and we in the Gas pipework industry were using these YEARS AGO! before unions! Electricians trying to be pipe fitters 🤣🤣🤣🤣 haven't a clue.
Premadonnas.
Iv just trained to be a electrician and iv done gas for 8 years previously. This is the one thing that I don’t understand about conduit it’s so crap when you do this. A union is so much better and is a much better connection especially is your earthing it
Of even, "Primadonna"
