Powers & Perils at your back! This simple details is enough to make your channel special. I have played it extensively for years, still my favorite rpg of all time
Random FYI-age: Mystic Wood had a pre-AH edition, produced by Ariel. FGU distributed Ariel's games, and I got a copy when the operation moved west.
Sorcerer's Cave is a clasic game. Introduced my eldest, then 7 in 1992 to gaming, he loved it, even making his own , without help evil reindeer vs Santa and elves variant which he took to school for pre xmas gaming. Now he has a twurch podcast and is a D&D, MTG and KDM gamer.
Awesome! I love when people share stories like these!
I loved this game growing up, wanted to recreate it to play with my child but couldn't find it anywhere so I took blank cards and made my own version. Thanks for your video because you have provided some helpful reminders of the actual game I had forgotten. I think my version has a few extras which were not in original especially as my daughter has made some of the character cards too (we probably never met a snowman hero previously)
Fantastic! I love hearing stories like this. That is the best part of gaming if you ask me, creating your own from the imagination and seeing it come to life on the table (or floor in this case). I took a look at some of the sketch books you uploaded, I would love to see your cards!
Thank you, I have not uploaded anything for some time but it's an idea to look into again @@RandomEncounterShow
Loved playing this when I was a kid! Fun times 😎👍
Thanks, in the sea of modern dungeon crawlers, this game still stands out to me.
This game survived 40 years in my Mum’s loft and now sits on one of my gaming shelves.
Make sure to give it a try!
My advice is that whilst a Hero seems like a great starting party it is obviously outmatched by Woman-Hero and Dwarf!
One of the many games I sold before my move west!
I had the base game and the expansion set.
Its odd AH would do the mystic wood but leave the sorcerers cave!
Would like to see more on Mystic Wood. Thanks
Ok excellent, not sure when I will be able to get to it but definitely will!
adoraba este juego
Todavía es bueno hoy!
Edit: i have seen the Mystic Wood game tiles now that i went and looked it up.
Marcowargamer i think was the one that was doing presentations of all kinds of vintage games. He was the first one i watched that showed the Sorcerer's Cave.
I saw some images of the tile designs and it hit me, i had seen it.
I got into reading about old vintage games that came out through that old gaming magazine Ares from SPI.
I have a load of games i want to craft from files that fans have made and provided on bgg. like "Voyage of the BSM Pandora" and "Wreck of the BSM Pandora" ,"Arena of Death" or "Citadel of Blood", " Nightmare House" (which someone warned had screwy gameplay, but it looked unique and interesting), and some others i cant recall. There was a ton of them.
I wish i had known about that magazine back when i was a kid, couldve had the original games in the magazines.
I have all of those except Citadel of Blood, I will make sure to cover them! Arena of Death is going to figure into a big project I am working on for the show and we are definitely playing the Pandora games (wreck and voyage), also Intruder from Task Force Games.
That last part with the Dr tho? 😂
The Conan shirt is really cool.
Yeah, i just had a second round with some other variant of cov that sounds like had roughly similar symptoms as you, except i had horrid migraines and neck aches. Had the body aches again, dizziness, body muscle weakness (could hardly walk), extreme fatigue, nausea and vomiting and a new thing, blood gushing out of my gums. Lol.
Yeah, i looked it up and bizarre mouth ailments were symptoms of the recent cov vars. At least i didnt have the blisters and tongue skin disintegration as i read were known issues that some had.
I had a fever again and chills. Not as bad as the battle with the early 2020 covmonster. That was super worst, i was like in a coma for several days, i had no idea what was going on. I had the worst fever i think ive had since the time i got stomach flu when in Portland,OR back five years ago. That was one the most horrible versions of that i ever had, and i was stuck in a hostel with terrible beds and a guy that snored like a generator was running in the room.
The first 2020 cov, I didnt eat for nearly week n a half due to all the nausea ,vomiting , raw sore throat and coughing nearly nonstop and feeling like i broke a rib and just being blanked out.
So this last one several weeks ago i got the totally wrecked sense of taste and smell. Everything tasted like metal or bile, not even a good metal.
But i couldn't even drink my most favorite drink ,coffee, as it tasted horrific.
Well, guess whatever doesnt kill us makes us stronger, but i just feel more annoyed than strong as i have all kinds of neurological issues residual from this crap. Like lost dexterity in my hands, cant work on my business tasks like i used to do and my eyesight is worse.
The older I get I have realized that whatever doesnt kill us makes us stronger thinking isnt working. I tend to think that if it didn't kill me now, it's taking its time about it 🤣
That game components look like new from here. I always liked that game for some reason, i guess its because it reminded me of some of the early computer games like the text exploration game "Adventure!" Not the Atari one.
I wish i wouldve known about that game back when i was a kid,but idk where anything like that wouldve even been sold in my podunk area. Maybe Nashville or Indianapolis.
I had that game on my list of games to build my own facsimile from files on ,i think, BGG. I cant recall now but someone said that all the cave tiles could be copied and the rules and such could be copied as it was so hard to find a original copy.
I think i would still like to craft a version of this, if it was just for making a entire working version to give to my friends two boys. They would love it when they got old enough.
I think ya are the funniest gaming discussion host on youtube. You just seem laid back and natural, not like trying - too - hard and corny and cringe as most are.
Talking about Adventure, I was just trying to talk a buddy of mine into selling me his TI99-4A he has still boxed. I have a weird sense of humor, I think its an acquired taste, my wife thinks differently but I tell her "don't be mad at me because your feet are on backwards and God didn't give you a sense of humor".
The gateway drug to Magic Realm.
I need to cover MR at some point too
@@RandomEncounterShow I'm running an 8 player game right now through an Avalon Hill group.
@@DeafSparrow amazing, it never was a game I could find players for so my experiences fall into the solo gaming category. I also enjoy Shadows of Malice which really reminds me of MR.
Hahahaha Good one. See? That's why you have to stay 'til the end, folks!
@@bbblackwell I love to hide stuff where no one will find them, mostly at the end of long winded videos
