Y Pat you have a talent for teaching. Your explanation of proper riding and giving the proper communications to your horse is easy to understand. Every time I watch one of your videos I see something to help me become a better rider and communicator to my horse.
That's a very receptive horse! Nice. I had an Arabian gelding - got him when he was 12yo and had been unridden since he was broken in as a 4yo. He was the most intuitive horse to ride - it seemed that he read my thoughts - he gave me an inflated opinion of my riding talents, which no other horse has done - I've had to learn how to ask -
another great video.. I'm still watching.. Pat always has my un-divided attention... Deb too Of course ..😊 ooo snap..dam good question... some questions Can only be answered with experience... lol..😊
I always find a subtle cue I have missed. or not executed completely - the more I watch you & apply, practice - - the softer my horse Willy & I get - - thank you Thanks you V in Colorado.
I was feeling warm just by looking at this beautiful Filson vest which has found a great home for sure. Nice to hear Deb asking great questions !! Awesome channel !!!
May I ask why you choose the snaffle instead of the hackamore for him? (Sorry for asking if I missed the explanation somewhere.) Enjoying your content from germany!
We reserve the hackamore for horses that have not had a bit in their mouths and that are headed on the journey to becoming a bridle horse. This horse is 6 years old and has already been started and ridden in a number of different bits. He is also extremely forward and so the hackamore would be something he would quickly learn he can go through. Pat will ride him in the Western Bit and the Missing Link Snaffle depending on what he is schooling him on.
If you do have to get off and walk with your horse and they try to go in front of you what is the way you correct that and get them behind your shoulder?
There is so much in the video!!! At least 4 lessons refreshed in 20 min!!!
Joe is going to be a darn good working horse once he gets through a couple wash cycles. 😅 love his walk.

Good question Deb!
Yes she seams to know the viewers are going to ask that same question. She did a great job videoing Pat leg positions this video.
Will he eventually be for sale? 😂 I really like him!
Yes he will. You can email us at debpuckett@gmail.com if you want to be notified when he's for sale.
@PatnDebPuckett thank you! I will send one!
Appreciate the closeup and detailed explanation. Super helpful (former English rider trying to change habits). Thank you.

Appies are tough. They're smart but can be stubborn. But when they get it, they're good.
He looks unreal, like a Breyer horse. He looks like an Appaloosa but seems narrower than the Appaloosas I’ve seen. Is he a POA ? Looks tall for a POA

Deb taught me to swing the end of the lead rope in front of me, so if they get in front they’ll run into it! It works 99% of the time for me!
not here to critique..love these videos.. but the horse needs trimmed.
