It's funny, the other day I was watching an interview of Medvedev and his coach together. They seemed very relaxed and like close friends; Gilles admitted he was the one with the biggest temper outside the court. It seems like a different story during matches though
Bro this is epic. A rematch I didn’t really even think about this and then BAM nole puts the hammer down and defeats his halves last man standing. And now DANIIL does the same as he knocks out the reigning champion.
Medvedev was simply out of this planet in this match. It is amazing how he manages to cover the court, recover and produce winners with his body seemingly out of balance!!!??? Both players are humble, intelligent and sporty.
Medvedev played a fantastic match. Without taking any merit out of Alcaraz, it is really frustrating to see and hear the bias in the commentators yesterday trying to justify in any way why Alcaraz should win and how great he is. After M going two sets up, at the very beginning of the third set, one of the commentators said if he would lose the third, the match would be basically over because A would win. At that time, A was just starting to raise his level but was 2 sets down! How can you be so biased! You can’t minimize what M was doing until that point! I can understand marketing but you have to be professional.
In 2021, Chris McKendrey of ESPN did numerous conversations in between and during matches with the expert commentators about how Novak Djokovic was going to become the first man to win the year Grand Slam since Rod Laver. From the very beginning of the tournament, she spoke of pretty much nothing else, so excited to be able to be the one to hand that trophy to Novak. I think she would have given him the trophy on the first day if she could have. I loved the trophy ceremony where she had to hand it to Medvedev. She was smiling, but I think with tears in her eyes that tennis history had not been made with her there. I'm hoping for a similar outcome on Sunday. (The one good thing about having my ESPN cut off from my cable, is that I didn't have to hear them go on and on about how wonderful and exciting the Alcaraz/Djokovic match was going to be, and Alcaraz was the greatest thing since sliced bread)
The media has always been biased. So are the commentators. Novak is still playing at the top of his game, and they have already named Carlos as his successor. It is very disrespectful. They say Coco is the replacement for Serena. Why, because she is Black? Serena Williams is the GOAT of women's tennis. Do you think only a Black player is motivated by the success of Serena Williams? All women tennis players admire the great work Serena has done on the court. It is a shame that all of Serena's accomplishments are being grouped into her race and not her success as the greatest female player of all time, white, black, etc
THANK YOU for saying this! I was a little bit frustrating to watch as a neutral tennis fan that night. I am a fan of Alcaraz's game and his weapons so I can understand the bias from the crowd (which I also think was too much at times) but the bias from the commentators was really too much and unprofessional. You are spot on with the third set commentary. I recall them saying "Knowing how great this kid is, if he wins the third set, the match is still going to be 50/50 for Medvedev" and this was only after 2 games in the third set! The entire time, they were talking about how Alcaraz is going to come back. The worst part for me was during long rallies in which Medvedev won, they would instantly state how the rally was only so good because of Alcaraz. Don't get me wrong, Alcaraz is great but my goodness the lack of respect for Medvedev's game was too much. The commentators go crazy for even the simplest of shots from Alcaraz...
I guess u might be getting too sensitive regarding this. As off now it is true that no woman in WTA is capable to carry the legacy of Serena or Grraph or Navratilovaa. However, people love to find look alike , that's why they say like father like son. That's no mean no other can emulate them but that reemphasizes our inherent loyalty to bloodline ( in broader sense , skin complexion line).
I love Goran and his honesty. I love that it’s not easy bc easy gets you to no where. I love to hear about the struggles bc we don’t see the hard work behind the scenes.
They don't call that guy an octopus for no reason, incredible defensive ability makes this guy very dangerous against whatever opponent.THE GOAT will have a extremely tough job to do on Sunday in order to lift the trophy🤞,lets see the clash of the defenders!
Daniil has high tennis IQ for sure. Just like Novak in Cincinnati, he broke through Alcaraz's tactics and made him look predictable. Still difficult to play against, but predictable. Can't wait to see what he's bringing to the court on Sunday. I'm expecting a mix of cerebral game and a lot of long rallies.
Great match..I could see Alcaraz way too casual and accommodating as match progressed..like catching up and gaining advantage was going to take place.. But Medvedev was ready..

Daniil deserved to win this. His level was clearly better, especially on serve. Alcaraz had no pace on his serve and though he played really well in stretches, was ineffective on serve and return. Simple as that
Medvedev only relied on his serves and errors by Alcaraz to win. Alcaraz didn’t have the focus to break him in the 1st set after the score was 2 games all. Also, his aggressive return on Medvedev’s second serve is a poor choice. Had he approached to just return decent like he did in 3rd set, things would have been so different

I remember seeing him interviewed a couple years ago on Tennis Channel when Daniil was having a great Indian Wells run. He was interviewed by Paul Annacone, and.he was totally starstruck by Paul interviewing him.
WTF strategy. Just serve bombs in sweet spots and kill the +1 shot. Then make him work like hell on his serve. This is how Medvedev plays normally, he just upped it up a notch last night, also his ground strokes were 10-20km faster than his averages, to avoid letting Alcaraz take control of the point. Simple, really in essence, but EXTREMELY hard to execute consistently in a 3 hours match. He dropped the level in set 3 just enough to allow Alcaraz a break, but that was it. Alcaraz was spending 6.6 minutes on his serve games and Medvedev 1.6minutes (incredible serving) on his own serve. The pressure this creates for the opponent is incredible. It worked against Djokovic in US Open final when Medvedev won, the exact same strategy blueprint, the EXACT SAME STRATEGY. But to keep serving like that for a match, even for his 1.98 meters height (which is CRUCIAL when you talk about serving) is an achievement. It was the same for Rublev, who has 1.88m but is not maybe in the same league as Alcaraz in movement. Alcaraz is 1.83m which is a PROBLEM when it comes to serve, basic physics people, height, angle and the leverage effect of lenght of arms (raquet head speed). Also to be fair on crucial points Alcaraz decision making last night was questionable, normal if you think he is 20 years old and still needs experience to complement that immense talent. We will see him dominate in the years to come if he stays healthy (not easy considering power of hitting coming from a 1.83m tall man).
also for the tennis nerds out there, stop listening to this BS "I need to be 11 out of 10 to beat the guy" etc. Medvedev is smart, these are mind games to let the opponent think he got this than BANG, one in the gut. This comment is accurate. Meddy's execution was the crucial difference. Carlos clearly was not mentally there and did not execute, but is the better player in terms of his ultimate level. He is only 20 and is already mentally ALMOST on par with the Big 3. I feel like he will continue to mature and improve, but I am less sure about how injury prone he is. That may turn out to be the real long-term challenge he faces.

Medvedev is a genius on the court. I don't like some of his whining antics. However, I respect his talent. Some people complain about young Ben Shelton. Some people say Ben is not humble and arrogant because he has a phone antic that I love and so does Novak. However we applaud Medvedev who in my opinion is very disrespectful to the players, the umpire, and the fans. Yet, we give him a pass because he has a high IQ....interesting.
@@joso5554we know the reason. But by that logic, most country’s flags shouldn’t be shown then. Gauff and Sabalenka yesterday should both have competed under the neutral flag then.

After being beat by Alcaraz at Indian Wells & Wimbledon, Med was determined to get his win in finally. Now Alcaraz will just find another way to beat him. Hopefully, Med will take the title on Sunday. I am tired of Djokovic (THE GOAT), but lets shake up the draw. Someone else needs to win. P.S. Alcaraz is my favorite player at 20 he has two majors.
Catch 22: was Alcaraz’s level somehow off and below his standard excellence, or was Medvedev’s level so high as to beat a top form Alcaraz?… I would say the former. So not much to talk about here. And considering the Medvedev’s mediocre performance against Djokovic in the final, I would not even expect much from Medvedev against Alcaraz or Djokovic moving forward.
Actually Alcaraz beat himself with so many unforced errors. Sometimes overconfidence can lead to losses. I hope Carlos learns from this. That you can always wait for the right time to attack and go for the kill.
Exactly I was thinking the same. He is immature with over confidence. At this age,Nadal was playing with lot of maturity. I think he will overcome this thing.
@@AS004-xf4jcit's not maturity. Nadal plays high percentage tennis eith a lot of topspin and making balls . Meanwhile carlos plays a bit high risk and aggressive . Sometimes it is meant to fail. Don't forget nadal wasn't unbeatable in 2006.

why this video looks like a 90's VHS tape ? wtf
Zone…always the Zone🍓♦️🎈🛹
What’s the coaches name? Thanks
Gilles Cervara
Anyone know this coach’s name ?
His name is Gilles Cervara
Alcaraz number 10 !
Headline misleading. He did not explain in detail how Medvedev beat Alcaraz.
I m disappointed that Danill’s country flag was not showed in a sport event.
You may find out the reason for that unless you have been living in a cave for 20 months.
@@joso5554Still there should be a separation between sports and politics.
@@joso5554when we will not show Russian flag he will stop being a Russian. Theatre for western adult kids.
@@joso5554we know the reason. But by that logic, most country’s flags shouldn’t be shown then. Gauff and Sabalenka yesterday should both have competed under the neutral flag then.
There's surely some special Bromancehood between these two men.
5:15 "TOP 1". 😆
Medvedev played the match of his life
One stupid question after another. the woman reporter asked the most important question, but the coach didn't answer it! What was teh damn strategy! Hit big on second serves? Bring Carlos in to the net? Change speeds, spins, height of the ball? Hit his FH to Carlos's BH? What was the damn strategY?
Of course they are not going to give details of the strategy.
2:18 Colin Farrell doing his best to feign a different accent, but no-one's buying it.
And considering the Medvedev’s
mediocre performance against Djokovic in the final, I would not even expect much from Medvedev against Alcaraz or Djokovic moving forward.
He looks like he has no food and the birds are feeding him 😅😅😅
Actually Alcaraz beat himself with so many unforced errors. Sometimes overconfidence can lead to losses. I hope Carlos learns from this. That you can always wait for the right time to attack and go for the kill.
Exactly I was thinking the same. He is immature with over confidence. At this age,Nadal was playing with lot of maturity. I think he will overcome this thing.
you are a liar . Look at the statistics.
Good point.
Nah. Meddy outclassed the kid. Give credit where credit’s due. If Medvedev didn’t double fault so much he would’ve won way more easily.
He sounds more like a Russian Politician , not refleckting the Truth at all ,and these reporters doesnt pick it up???
He's FRENCH! These reporters picked that up a long time ago.
A Russian politician who is French and has a French accent? You don't pay much attention, do you?
They speak french when together.
iz he frentz
This man does a great Trump impression.
3-7 in us open finals incoming.....
Who cares, a Slav will win and continue the non-American dominance.
Alcaraz lost because he mindlessly went for serve and volley at key points, making his strategy a bit too predictable.
I couldn't understand a word.
He said nothing...😂
SLAVICS TOOK OVER TENNIS. WAKE UP!!!
It didn’t just happen. It’s been going on for decades on both the men’s and women’s sides.
Wake up, why? Slavic people are just much better than the Anglo-Saxons.
@@sofiaraysOne man? Because other than Djokovic, tennis for the past two decades has been dominated by an American, a Swiss, and a Spaniard lol
@@harveydodd8803 In the top 10 there have consistently been more slavs than any other group. Both men’s and women’s tennis.
@@sofiarays clearly we have different definitions of “taking over” or “dominating” tennis. For me, it’s winning majors. Djokovic and Sharapova are the only two Slavs have been dominant players in this era. Rest have been two Americans and a bunch of Western Europeans. There have been as many dominant Slavs as there have been dominant Williams sisters lol
This guy looks like a hobbit
Hahaha crazy carlo beat daneil 2 times, now you are 2-1😂 crazy happen here.
Allhype was defending champ here..
Medvedev knocked him out..
Hehe
2-2 first time at wimbeldon 2021
@@azfotki head to head sir, OK tennis now is in good shape.
It only counts if he can beat Novak.
You Danill is not fair to match with Carlos Alcaraz. He is quite old to match with Alcaraz. I don’t admire him at all.
Very generic interview...
Тренер ,скажи своему подопечному карасю, чтобы учился подавать подачи и меньше кревлятся 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Enough. Of Carlito Alkaraz . He will never reach 23 grand slams , so stop making him think that he is God on the tennis court. Give him help, with his face and teeth . Nice guy otherwise
