Thank you so much for this! I’m a professional just trying to get a break from my day job and I have been thinking about learning language with EF in Seoul (I‘m 33). I did an exchange program in Korea I back when I was in Uni and I really wanna go back. I have been searching for infos about this program and your video is definitely the most helpful! Thank you so much for sharing, I appreciate it! Much love !!

This is very helpfull! Especially the tip to stay in Seoul for a while after the EF course. Is anyone here planning to go to Seoul EF in August/September 2023?
Gosh, i'm thinking a lot about going for 4 weeks but i'm not a beginner in korean, i can understand a lot but have no confidence in speaking and I would love to go there especially for that..oh and the travelling! I wouldn't mind paying for that trip to Busan, that sounds so damn cool. But true, it's too expensive so idk whether to go for real or not but it sounds really nice. Thanks for the info! But honestly, this entire pandemic situation is making it really hard to decide. I don't want to pay for something and then lose that money, or spend weeks in quarantine. Who knows how the situation will look like next year. It's hard to decide.. but going to korea for the 1st time after so many years of learning the language and being interested in the culture would be a dream come true. And I wish I could meet amazing people as well. I really wanna go :(
I only know like 2 words in Korean but I never say them because I have no confidence and I feel like I sound terrible😂😭 but I want to go to Korea so bad just to learn the language and culture. I would like to go next summer after I graduate high school but I’m broke and I’m scared😂 and yeah with the whole pandemic thing now who knows when the world will be back to normal😞
@@maddiep8693 hah I feel you, I can speak when I'm by myself but not with others. I would like to improve and gain confidence. I will definitely go once the situation gets better (god knows when will that be)
im planning on joining EF when I turn 18 and your video was every helpful! thank you so much for sharing your journey/experience it really helped me out:)
I'm really considering doing a program. but the thing that scares me is that the lessons are all in Korean. How do you then learn and understand what they're saying?
So the lessons are primarily in Korean. Some of the teachers know English but it is very basic. But within each class there is varying levels of Korean and honestly everyone is there to help so sometimes if you don't understand the class can help. Plus the teachers are very understanding and work slow and make sure everyone is on the same page. Don't worry
I really like this video! It was a looong time ago but i’m thinking of going to Seoul with EF for a year, and i want to take the intensive course. Though i don’t know if i should go for the host family or live on campus, cause i feel like host family would be good but then i don’t know how far away its gonna be from EF and i feel like i would be very nervous to get lost 😅
Hey! You legit answered most of my questions I had thank you for that 😭 I just have some left about the logistics of you getting there. How was the situation with the flight and you getting there? Is it a collective flight for EF Students, or do you just get there alone and EF is „responsible“ for when you arrive in Korea? And how was your arrival, where you welcomed by your host family (and if I choose the residence is there like a shuttle from the airport to the accommodation?) And again thank you for your in depth video 💜🫶🏻
I just found out about EF and I am so very interested. Im only 14 at the moment and I plan on saving up for the next 2 years till i reach the minimum age (16) so I can go. It sounds amazing and it honestly seems like a pretty realistic dream of mine. One question I have is: when I go I will have to miss school, Will I have to graduate late or will there be alternatives for people who are still in HighSchool?
Yeah, but wont it get in the way of your junior year? I heard junior is the most important year in high school as you will have to take a lot of classes to get your credits for high school, and you have to study/take SATs.
Everyone I met who stayed for more than 9 months were graduated from college or high school and did not need to worry about credits. That being said as far as I know EF only provides Korean language classes at their "campus", so this will interfere with HS graduation... I suggest either studying only for the summer or reaching out to EF directly for info about long term exchange as a unfinished HS student :))
@@user-marz.on_mars There are only Korean classes and Korean culture classes at EF Seoul. As far as I know there is no exchange with students at Korean high schools but this is a great question to contact EF with. :))
@@ahlam4859 Junior year is the most important haha as a graduated student it most definitely gets hectic in Junior year. I suggest studying in the summer to prevent problems.
I've used EF for a class trip before, but I definitely would never use EF to actually learn a language. It's way too overpriced but because they are so well known they're able to charge more. I found a cheaper Spanish school in Costa Rica (not EF) for 5 weeks with more class time while my friend did EF in Spain for 3 weeks with less class time for the exact same price.
Hii, is there any way to be roomies with a friend also traveling to Seoul with EF? Would there also be any way to partner with a friend for a host family or EF residence? Thank youu, this video really helped!!
Honestly I am not sure. When planning your EF trip you will be set up with an advisor and if you let them know I am sure they can find a way to pair the two of you.
I prefer people to not choose host family if you are 18+ for many reasons, and I believe if you really want you can learn the culture and the people by your own way.
Thank you so much ❤️ I would love to do this program in Spring 2022 🌸 Anyone else? 🥰 Now I downloaded some Apps to learn the Korean Language!😍🇰🇷 Much love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Hii I'm from Germany! I'm also looking forward to go in 2022 ^-^ I'm really interested and excited since i wanted to do it since i was 11 !! i hope u can go and everything works out perfectly fine !💕💕
Jennina you have daily homework but honestly not more than like 30 minutes and there are breaks between classes so most people do it then. My friends who studied for a 10+ months had no breaks except for Korean national holidays
Hi Nicole :) Thank you so much for that video! This was such a good inside look and you have a really captivating aura! I'm gonna check out your other videos too. I understand if you have no more time to answer any more questions, so no worries if that's the case :) I will go to Seoul in December for three month (fingers crossed). I wanted to ask if you brought a laptop or notebook. Mine weighs a ton and I have not so much money to buy a new one. Secondly I have a severe egg allergy with bad symptoms. Was there someone who also had to be careful regarding food? In Korean stores I made the experience that egg isn't necessarily listed on fresh items. Much love from Germany!!
I did bring my laptop but didn't use it very often. Only to upload photos. Depending where you're staying too you may have access to a computer like many hotel do so this could be a good solution. I didn't have any friends who had allergies only one was vegetarian. It is possible to avoid eggs but most definitely will need to be your responsibility to always communicate at restaurants that you're allergic so I suggest mastering this phrase haha. In addition I suggest coming up with a good solution for if you have a reaction what steps you need to take to stay safe :) Have fun on your travels and stay safe
@@Nijeii Thank you so much for the answer! Yes I also think communication is key. And packing an emergency bag, yes that's important! You move to Korea. I wish you all the best and I hope everything goes as planned!! I'm sure you will be thriving there :D
Truthfully there is a lot of English. Many of the students aren't at a proficient enough level to actually speak to one another and because many are from different countries we just used English more often... the most I could practice Korean was with locals, Korean native friends, and my host family.
Do you plan on studying Korean in South Korea again? If so, have you found a different program with a lower tuition? I'm interested in studying Korean in South Korea next year but I've heard of a couple of different programs such as one at Sogang University, but they don't offer accommodations. EF's program sounds like a good fit for what I'm looking for because you mentioned how we get freedom and chance to participate in many activities that they provide. I'm looking for a program where I can get a great education as well as get to know South Korea such as go to clubs, night life, have fun, etc. I did a little bit of research on their website about the different levels, and I'm thinking about taking Basic, but at the same time I'm interested in taking General. Will I get as much free time as basic if I take General?
I do plan to be in South Korea again shortly ;). I have not found a program cheaper that isn't connected to a Korean high school program. My friend is going to Sogang this winter and will be using Airbnb which can be a good cheap alternative but yes, you will be responsible for your accommodation which can be a no go for you. EF is nice because they take care of this for you. In general you will have less free time because you're taking more classes but truthfully I don't think Basic or General is bad because you still have a lot of free time especially if you're a night person! I would go with EF again if tuition is lower and I take basic haha because I love self travel which EF does well and honestly the community of people there are really good and the whole process is very easy to navigate. Hope this helps!
hi! silly question, but you said you didn’t really learn that much. Your friend who studied for longer, did she learn a great deal more? Or was she unsatisfied with her course? I’m trying to decide between going abroad with a university, or doing a more language focused program. thanks!
iam planning to go there from 30.4. to 27.5.2023, i will have host family but iam afraid they wont speak english and i cant speak korean just some basics like greetings and so😅i hope i will have enough money to see a buy things 😍 if anyone is going at the same time just let me know ☺
I planned on doing a 9 month language travel with EF during 11th grade so afterwards I can finish the last two years of school in my home country & study in Korea afterwards. So I’m able to speak some Korean then. Sadly Corona makes everything a little complicated now. Hopefully things work and do you think my plan is good? I need some feedback on it from a outer viewpoint.
I mean i think this will be fun but is only a language program so you will need to resume studies after this 9 months and if you do not mind being behind everyone and being older in your grade its def a fun experience. but I always suggest gap years if I am fully honest!
Hey, thanks for all of the info in this video! I'm planning on going to EF seoul this summer and would love to stay independently in korea after my 2 weeks of classes with friends made on the course but was curious how people organised this? Did they know they were going to find people to stay with before going and just took a chance; or did they change their flights/plans to stay longer after meeting people there? Thanks in advance for your help!
hello!, i really liked your video and appreciate the details; i was wondering when you were there you had to pay in dollars or won? or if you did like an exchange at the airport??
I have a question, will the family help me with the public transportation pass & sim card? (Where to get them etc) I‘m going to Seoul with EF for a whole year starting september next year and I was wondering if I would get help with those?
Oh wow this will be super fun! My family kind of explained but had to take her kids to school so she couldn't help haha but Suryeon (the activity advisor) and other staff there can help you get the T-money card (bus/subway pass) and SIM card. They help students do this on the first day usually. Keep in mind T-Money can be bought and loaded with cash only at almost any connivence store so it's not too hard. But I have little knowledge about SIM card.
When u decided to go study abroad, was it a last minute decision or were u already prepared months and months before ? I’m genuinely curious bc I want go but I have to save money first- besides that thank you for all of these informations, I think I’ve make up my mind
Oh for sure haha because the expectations is to be in class every day all the time which is honestly a lot of class if you just want to go to Korea and travel and make friends lol this is why I suggest basic course or 2 weeks in class 2 week independent travel but with the friends you made

Hi I’m from Norway, I have heard the Korean government closed all student visas a while but how is it now? Are you 100% sure you can travel and do you travel with student visa?
At first I wanted to go for the campus (I have social anxiety so I was a bit scared) but I get such positive feedback from everyone and 2 of my friends always have exchange student at their houses and I saw how great it can be ! So even tho I’m a little stress I now really want to go for it, I think there is nothing than to be within the people to learn about the country 😊 If I like the country and program enough, I may just go again in the residence after being 18 to have both experiences! I have some friends that want to go to and we weren’t sure if they had to know some basic things so I ended up learning Hangul and basic sentences, words, numbers etc...to them 😂 Btw, I would go there at 17 so not a adult yet, do you think I could still reserve a rbnb or hotel room ?...
I have social anxiety too...... like it’s really bad. But it’s my dream to go to Korea and I would love to go there and study the language and culture I don’t know like any Korean though😂😂😅 do you have any tips on learning Hangul??💜
@@maddiep8693 Go one day at a time ! For example, today learn “ㅏ” or “a”. Then try to write it tomorrow. A letter a day, or it can be one letter per 3 or 4 days depends on the person. When you know them all, take a really slow song (a ballad for example) and sing it. You can check your pronunciation and practice to read at the same time !
@@whyismikeyhere1374 I have :) I, personally, love it. Of course it’s a subjective matter but in the span of less than 3 months I have learned the basics and can write/hold short conversations. The teachers have been really nice to me and the staff is very accommodating. I live at the EF residence and the room is very nice and has cleaning twice a week. We get a lot of free time so we have time to explore the city and EF arranges activities that we can join. I’ve met a lot of good friends that I hope to keep for life.
Loved your video! Quick question, do you have any idea of the difference between staying a month (like you) and staying for 10 months? Would tuition be much greater? Would I still be able to stay at a host family? Would the curriculum for classes change?
Tuition would increase a lot! You could stay in a host family, and sometimes it will be more than one so you will need to move. The curriculum does not change for AY students (long term students)
i want to go next year in the summer when ill be 15, i'm planning to with a friend , because of my age would there be limitations on when and where i can go out, explore, have fun with my friend?
I really want to go through this program, but I have type 1 diabetes. I don't know if i can due to this, because I am insulin dependent. You probably dont know lmao but if you do could you lmk :)
I have little knowledge about this but you can request information and ask them specific questions you have regarding your insulin. I do not see why you wouldn't be able to go. As long as you are prepared and have let either host family know or if you stay in residence if you have a plan for your stay with the proper care I don't see why there will be a problem. But go ahead and shoot them a message and I am sure they can help better
Do you have a pump? And a CGM? I think you would be alright if your parents are alright with it, and if you know how to calculate units. Most Korean food has little carbs, however nutritional facts are also visible most places you go, and you can easily look it up on CalorieKing. If you’re independent, and know your stuff, you’ll be fine. I’m pretty well educated on this stuff, my brother has Type 1 as well
thanks so much for this video! it was really helpful. I kind of want to go to the language year and I'm 17. I want to know if it does replace a full academic year or not? will it be considered like my 12th year if do that?
hi, thanks so much for your video ❤️ I’d like to know if after this they give you a certificate or something? that you’ve been to Korea with this education program and that you studied a certain level of Korean?
I'm going to Seoul in Sept 22 and I'm going with a host family bc I want that full experience and speak a lot of korean but I'm really worried about the curfew, like... I'm 26 and I can't go partying late at night? I don't know XDDD
You can go out :) I’m going in 2022 as well. My friend went in 2019 and she liked to go out. Sometimes she wouldn’t even come home (she’d stay at a friend’s house) All she had to do is discuss this with her host family. Whenever she planned to go out with friends or stay at one of her friends’ place after partying, she would tell her host family. Otherwise they’d be worried, not knowing where she is 😅 So I think you just have to make sure to tell them that you won’t be home for dinner or just tell them you’re going out :)
I plan on going by the summer camp when covid is under controll or like when im allowed to go. But whats the different between group or Individual language trip?
How fluent do you have to be? I really don't know any Korean but I'm going this October and you said that the teachers only speak Korean usually and so I'm worried I'll have a hard time in class if I don't know what they are saying. Will I get any help with class? I'm sure I'll know more words by October but not enough to understand a full lecture so I am kind of worried now
From what I saw in their brochure they sent me, if you go 12+ weeks they’ll give you a free flight. Please don’t quote me if this is incorrect, it was just what I got from mine.

The host family and schools do not show you how to travel. It is up to you to use helpful navigation apps like naver, kakaomap, and seoul metro. My host mom just drew a photo and I just had to figure it out hahah
hi! i'm planning to go to seoul next year and i was wondering if i'd be considered an adult there if im 18, or do i have to be 19? this video helped a lot though, so thank you !!
So with EF they will consider you an adult at 18 and you will not have a curfew but as far as I know the legal age to drink and club in South Korea is 19 international age. But don't quote me haha

Hmmm it's really up to you but like I mentioned in the video I suggest two weeks with the program to make friends and the rest on self travel... but it is just 3 and many of my friends did this sooo.....ahhhh up to you but I mean it is fun hahah but not cheap

ok so,,, I want to go to korea for collage maybe next year(if my mom lets me). by that time ill be 15. will i still be able to have a host family at im 18 or will i have to live somewhere independently until then? And how would I be able to do that? thank you!!!
thats a good question. I believe you can still do host family but I am not sure if the rules have changed. I suggest contacting someone from EF currently.
You can not get tattoos in Korea as a minor :( I just look much older than I am and wasn't asked to prove my age but some of my other friends were. It also depends where you go to get tattooed :)
yes even if its short time give a small gift to show appreciation cause they typically dont get much to help so its just to say thanks like keychains or a magnet for the fridge small gifts like this!
Would you recommend going with EF or to an actual University... i have already saved a spot with EF but i am thinking about applying to a university korean language program.. it is also cheaper
I think university is much better for language heavy learning but honestly I have known people from both places and loveeeee both so really up to you and cost.
hello! thank you so much for this video! i have one question, do they give you money to spend or do you need to get a job or something? also while you are there would you be allowed to order packages like clothing or something? bc i’m always ordering clothes lol
Is EF only for study abroad for a semester for college students or can you go there and do a course as a international student ? Cause I’m in high school and I really wanna go abroad for college.
Hello! I’m turning 15 in 2024 but I also want to go with EF to Seoul, do you recommend going next year (2025), when I’ll be 16, or wait until I’m 18?☺️
H! thank you so much for sharing your experience, i just didn't understand one thing, did you went there when you were a minor or adult? if you were a minor, you had a curfew to follow right, but did the EF staff banned or controlled you where you went with friends? or they left you free since you come back at the curfew hour set?
I went at 17 years old but the staff mention coming to a foreign country alone they will treat you as an adult regardless of age. That being said they do not restrict where you go or what you do on your own time, like going to clubs, bars, hotels, or other travel in Korea. The only rules is the curfew I must be back at residence or host family at 11pm. My family did not enforce this so I had no curfew and in the residence it is easy to avoid curfew as a minor hahah
If you're under 18 it is by 11pm... and it depends what course you take basic, general or intensive but intensive would be like close to 6-8 hour class days
Hey, I was wondering when you were with your host family did you speak Korean to them? Or English? I have broken Korean so I only know what you said like introduce myself yourself and things like that and Did you get a job for extra money?
i have a question but its ok if i dont get a response cause this is an old ish vid lol im wanting to go in july 2021 but i will be 15 international age, im unsure if the age requirement (+16) is based off of academic grade (10th) because ive gotten away and into classes and programs intended for +18 because i am homeschooled. in 2021 my korean age will be 16 so does that qualify or does it need to be my legal age? wanting to know if i have to plan for 2022. sorry for this kind of dumb question 😭it’s probably an obvious no wtf r u stupid type question but im a bit confused cause i cant find any info regarding this
What if I turned exactly 18 would I still have to do what minors do? Also what about the flights to and from do we pay for that ourselves, and do we just go to Korea or wait and go together?

Don't worry
I am planning to go with EF to Seoul and this was a good video to watch, thank you!
I am so happy to hear hope you have an amazing time!
I hope I can go during this summer or next year in the summer when I save enough money. This video helped a lot though, thank you!
I’m planning on going this or next summer as well!
@@v4nessayoung Good luck! 🥰
im so happy to hear hope you can travel soon!
Thank you so much for this video!!! EF is a little bit vague, and I can't tell you how thankful I am for this video!
I am so happy to hear this! Thank you for watching
And how was your arrival, where you welcomed by your host family (and if I choose the residence is there like a shuttle from the airport to the accommodation?)
And again thank you for your in depth video 💜🫶🏻
I just found out about EF and I am so very interested. Im only 14 at the moment and I plan on saving up for the next 2 years till i reach the minimum age (16) so I can go. It sounds amazing and it honestly seems like a pretty realistic dream of mine. One question I have is: when I go I will have to miss school, Will I have to graduate late or will there be alternatives for people who are still in HighSchool?
I wanted to ask this too !! Do you think we will be only learning Korean and not other subjects ?
Literally so helpful thank you
I've used EF for a class trip before, but I definitely would never use EF to actually learn a language. It's way too overpriced but because they are so well known they're able to charge more.
I found a cheaper Spanish school in Costa Rica (not EF) for 5 weeks with more class time while my friend did EF in Spain for 3 weeks with less class time for the exact same price.
i am looking to learn spanish in costa rica this summer! which spanish school did you attend?

It probably depends on the price and the location tho too so maybe the less then 2 month ones aren’t the best probably go for the semester year one

I haven't gone yet but i've had a consultation and they said it's possible. check with your advisor though!
Anyone going in june/july/ august?❤
July😄
I prefer people to not choose host family if you are 18+ for many reasons, and I believe if you really want you can learn the culture and the people by your own way.

What a great video, I've been losely planning on going for 9 months with EF so this helped a lot:)

Do students usually try to use korean as much as possible outside of class, or is there a lot of english?
Also, if the tuition was cheaper would you then plan on going again ?
This really helped! Thank you so much! :)
do rolling korea ppl! SAVE THE MONEY AND HAVE AN EVEN BETTER EXPERIENCE AT
ROLLING KOREAAA
What’s rolling Korea ?
how much is it
hi! silly question, but you said you didn’t really learn that much. Your friend who studied for longer, did she learn a great deal more? Or was she unsatisfied with her course?
I’m trying to decide between going abroad with a university, or doing a more language focused program. thanks!
What gifts did you give your host family?
iam planning to go there from 30.4. to 27.5.2023, i will have host family but iam afraid they wont speak english and i cant speak korean just some basics like greetings and so😅i hope i will have enough money to see a buy things 😍 if anyone is going at the same time just let me know ☺
I planned on doing a 9 month language travel with EF during 11th grade so afterwards I can finish the last two years of school in my home country & study in Korea afterwards.
I used won... my bank does exchange through debit cards so I didn't need cash all the time
I have a question, will the family help me with the public transportation pass & sim card? (Where to get them etc) I‘m going to Seoul with EF for a whole year starting september next year and I was wondering if I would get help with those?
Oh wow this will be super fun! My family kind of explained but had to take her kids to school so she couldn't help haha but Suryeon (the activity advisor) and other staff there can help you get the T-money card (bus/subway pass) and SIM card. They help students do this on the first day usually. Keep in mind T-Money can be bought and loaded with cash only at almost any connivence store so it's not too hard. But I have little knowledge about SIM card.
That's such a nice plan! May I ask how much will it basically cost you for the whole year? 😊
About the payment thing is it monthly like do they give you time to pay for it each month or do you have to pay all the tuition all at once ?
yea i was wondering this too . cause if it’s all at once, then it’s like a lot.
It is mentioned in the video that you can do multiple payments depending how far in advance you book
Thanks so much for the video, it was super helpful! Quick question...how many classes do you take a day in the general/intensive courses?
I took around 5 or so I think....
When u decided to go study abroad, was it a last minute decision or were u already prepared months and months before ? I’m genuinely curious bc I want go but I have to save money first- besides that thank you for all of these informations, I think I’ve make up my mind
The idea has been years in the making but from convincing my family to actually going it was three months
Also! For the intensive course... do you think it took away some of the enjoyment of being in Korea?
Oh for sure haha because the expectations is to be in class every day all the time which is honestly a lot of class if you just want to go to Korea and travel and make friends lol this is why I suggest basic course or 2 weeks in class 2 week independent travel but with the friends you made
Nijeii what about general course? bcs i still want to learn a lot but also have enough time to explore

At first I wanted to go for the campus (I have social anxiety so I was a bit scared) but I get such positive feedback from everyone and 2 of my friends always have exchange student at their houses and I saw how great it can be ! So even tho I’m a little stress I now really want to go for it, I think there is nothing than to be within the people to learn about the country 😊
If I like the country and program enough, I may just go again in the residence after being 18 to have both experiences!
I have some friends that want to go to and we weren’t sure if they had to know some basic things so I ended up learning Hangul and basic sentences, words, numbers etc...to them 😂
Btw, I would go there at 17 so not a adult yet, do you think I could still reserve a rbnb or hotel room ?...
It might be tough to do so which can lead to headaches later on but I never reserved one in Korea so I wouldn't 100% know

@@tiny_hyebin oh that sounds like a lot of fun! based on your journey, how much did you have to pay?
Loved your video! Quick question, do you have any idea of the difference between staying a month (like you) and staying for 10 months? Would tuition be much greater? Would I still be able to stay at a host family? Would the curriculum for classes change?
Tuition would increase a lot! You could stay in a host family, and sometimes it will be more than one so you will need to move. The curriculum does not change for AY students (long term students)
I think 6 month is the best cuz most are 12-15k which is about the same or even cheaper than a lot of 3 month semester exchanges from my school

i want to go next year in the summer when ill be 15, i'm planning to with a friend , because of my age would there be limitations on when and where i can go out, explore, have fun with my friend?
I’m pretty well educated on this stuff, my brother has Type 1 as well
How long did you stayed there? Thank you for the video!! 💕

Sometimes she wouldn’t even come home (she’d stay at a friend’s house)
All she had to do is discuss this with her host family. Whenever she planned to go out with friends or stay at one of her friends’ place after partying, she would tell her host family. Otherwise they’d be worried, not knowing where she is 😅
So I think you just have to make sure to tell them that you won’t be home for dinner or just tell them you’re going out :)
I plan on going by the summer camp when covid is under controll or like when im allowed to go. But whats the different between group or Individual language trip?
Group is like school. So you will be doing individual
Hiiiii, I was wondering how much pocket money should one bring?
I think I mentioned in the video around 1,200 dollars is what I brought and blew through heheh

I know this is alot lmao sorry but thankyouu!
There are laws in Korea but it's like any country you can sometimes get away with it but you always take the risk.
Hi! I was wondering if you could choose a host family w/ siblings? I think I would feel more comfortable/safe if I had a host brother my age or a host sister.
a host family with kids * i worded that weirdly my bad lol
There is a host family preference questionnaire that you must fill out and you can specify you want host siblings but it is not guaranteed :)
hey, do you get normal courses aswell as language ones? like if im a highschool student, first year of kr high school (age 15) at EF, would I be getting my normal classes aswell, or do i need to go to another school at the same time as ef? (normal classes liek math, science, etc)
Do they show you how to get class from your host families house and how to use the subways and buses?and did travel to Korea by yourself?
The host family and schools do not show you how to travel. It is up to you to use helpful navigation apps like naver, kakaomap, and seoul metro. My host mom just drew a photo and I just had to figure it out hahah
hi! i'm planning to go to seoul next year and i was wondering if i'd be considered an adult there if im 18, or do i have to be 19? this video helped a lot though, so thank you !!
So with EF they will consider you an adult at 18 and you will not have a curfew but as far as I know the legal age to drink and club in South Korea is 19 international age. But don't quote me haha
Can I go to study 3 years in South Korea with a host family? Yea 3 years, until I finish 12th grade
I‘m shortly before booking 3 weeks to seoul with ef, but i‘m a bit shocked about the price with all included and you additionally have to pay for all extra activities thats why i‘m thinking if i should really do it. Would you please tell me your opinion on this:)
Hmmm it's really up to you but like I mentioned in the video I suggest two weeks with the program to make friends and the rest on self travel... but it is just 3 and many of my friends did this sooo.....ahhhh up to you but I mean it is fun hahah but not cheap

You can become an ambassador so you can save money :)
You can get tattoos in Korea as minor ? How old do you have to be to get a tattoo there? Pretty random question sorry 😄
You can not get tattoos in Korea as a minor :( I just look much older than I am and wasn't asked to prove my age but some of my other friends were. It also depends where you go to get tattooed :)
Hi, should I have give my host family some gifts if I went there for only 2 weeks?
yes even if its short time give a small gift to show appreciation cause they typically dont get much to help so its just to say thanks like keychains or a magnet for the fridge small gifts like this!
Would you recommend going with EF or to an actual University... i have already saved a spot with EF but i am thinking about applying to a university korean language program.. it is also cheaper
I would personally choose a university language program. But it's your choice:)
You have to bring your own money to spend and a lot of people order food or other things, so you can definitely do that :)
Is EF only for study abroad for a semester for college students or can you go there and do a course as a international student ? Cause I’m in high school and I really wanna go abroad for college.
They do not set you up with a university I suggest looking into partner universities then :)

Hey , I’m under 18 too I’m afraid that what if they reject me and triggered about they don’t choose me haah
I'm not talking about clubs or illegal stuff for minors, just normal things, for example go out alone after class to somewhere you want to
I went at 17 years old but the staff mention coming to a foreign country alone they will treat you as an adult regardless of age.
Nijeii thank you so so much
Wait we have to pay for a plane ticket to SK? It’s not included in the price?
Oh but how did you sleep in the residence if you were in a host family?
How do minors are able to keep up with their academic if they are to go for a bout a year? Also, for the price, is it monthly or whole?
It would be a whole price and most go after their senior year if they do long term. I do not know anyone who halted their studies for EF
hi, i loved your video !!
In the host family and at residence do they have a specific time to return home? And how long do the classes last?
If you're under 18 it is by 11pm... and it depends what course you take basic, general or intensive but intensive would be like close to 6-8 hour class days
@@Nijeii ooh thanks!!
Hi I have been thinking about going to EF and I have a question what is the app you were talking about??
Hi,
I want to be an architect so I was asking if I learn language can I also have my special field of study or not?
✨💕
EF is just a language course no other classes
Hey, I was wondering when you were with your host family did you speak Korean to them? Or English? I have broken Korean so I only know what you said like introduce myself yourself and things like that and Did you get a job for extra money?
I spoke english luckily but some do not so try your best but they are understanding. also yiu can not legally work so you must save up
would you say you could keep up with Korean conversation after your stay?
No lol
I improved but nothing to this exteme
i have a question but its ok if i dont get a response cause this is an old ish vid lol
im wanting to go in july 2021 but i will be 15 international age, im unsure if the age requirement (+16) is based off of academic grade (10th) because ive gotten away and into classes and programs intended for +18 because i am homeschooled. in 2021 my korean age will be 16 so does that qualify or does it need to be my legal age?
wanting to know if i have to plan for 2022. sorry for this kind of dumb question 😭it’s probably an obvious no wtf r u stupid type question but im a bit confused cause i cant find any info regarding this
It needs to be legal age since it is an american program
Thanks so much for the video. It really helps! I have a question. How easy is it to convert currency to Korean Won?
What if I turned exactly 18 would I still have to do what minors do? Also what about the flights to and from do we pay for that ourselves, and do we just go to Korea or wait and go together?
