UF's OL will be better than last season and Mertz is no slouch, so I think Florida will find ways to score (probably early when the adrenalin is still high). But if they are unable to consistently run the ball well on early downs they are going to have a very long afternoon.
On the other side of the ball, Miami just has too many "dudes" in the trenches, where games are won and lost. And their pick-your-poison offense is probably better than advertised. Miami 38-23.

Every QB miami has had was highly rated coming in. Talent is never the issue with the canes. The only other team that has as much talent and underachieves is unc. If they have some leadership improvement and mental toughness that has been lacking, they have the potential to win a lot of games. I'll believe it when i see it.
I think Gators will come out with a no huddle O, with the quick pass, but so early in the season can they be in sync. If not, Miami's run game will set up the pass, and it could be a clock eater with passing at will, also with utilization of a great tight end group that hasn't been used in a while. Running on eight cylinders for the first time in a while. D-line will wreak havoc.

Great analysis but a) Denson not gonna be on restrepo b) completely disagree with the game prediction. “Still need to see it” what have we seen from Miami who made fewer changes than Florida?
For starters Miami replaced the only player that hurt them last year at QB with a stud and then they added one of the best RB in the country. They also further upgraded a D line that was dominant. In the flips side, Florida lost there best RB and did make some upgrades but their portal class was not better than Miami’s. Home field is the only thing UF has going for them.
Napier cannot coach during a game. He looks lost and confused. That's a real issue with the Gators

@buddygohard5948 I don't think week 1 that any mediocre team could come in and light it up in the swamp. However, this should be a very good game, but miami should win. I know we hear every summer that "da U is bak" but eventually they'll get it together. Always have talent, but for some reason, miami and unc do less with more. Every season they're loaded and do nothing much with it.

Nah, no "hell." This is the same "they have to show me first" take me the Gators see everywhere these days. No biggie. As expected, Miami is getting the universal benefit of the doubt in virtually every corner of the media. Splashy recruiting generates media excitement like few topics in CFB. Meanwhile, subpar player development and troubling retention rates go largely unnoticed as classes suffer attrition and some highly ranked recruits disappoint. Same old same old. It happened in the pre-season last year too as I recall. Frankly, it strikes me as a little odd that UF is such a solid, universal underdog at home to a HC who will be coaching to remain above .500, coming into Florida Field with 74-73 record in 13 seasons. I'm also not as impressed as some with a QB sporting a losing record in P5 who has never experienced anything like the conditions he'll encounter on 8/31 at the Swamp. IMHO, this game is really close overall, just about dead even. But I have faith that Mario shoots himself in the foot at least once more than Billy does and thereby manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once again. Gators by about seven.
Miami had 2 freshman all Americans and have multiple players that hsve been developed i mean Mario coach Penie Sewell the highest paid offensive linemen in the NFL that only happens if your 1 of the best in the world at your position so who does Billy have thats 1 of the best at his position in the NFL id love to know who hes developed

Actually, Ward has played at Oregon which is similar if not louder, you need to know college ball outside your little window. He also had no Oline at wsu but still lit it up. Plus UM adds one of the top backs in country. It’s Miami’s game to lose not Florida's to win, if that’s what happens.
Because he’s taken over struggling programs everywhere he’s been HC. He’s not perfect but rebuilding programs is what he does and you are about to see it since you apparently missed it prior two times.
