Your videos are very informative and helpful! I was a guest speaker for Centennial College, this morning. I put a shout out to your channel, to the students, as a great reference. Keep up the great work!
Shout-out to viewer Dieter W for sending me a PDF copy of the original parts manual that includes info for both these units! I updated the description and the pinned comment to include the original part numbers (looks like my belts were only off by 1/4" so I was really close).
The yellow Canadiana is a very cool machine. Thanks for showing us the trans and rear assembly. Very well built machine and great job on the repairs!!!
Love your videos on the old blowers! I recently picked up a old Estate 825, model A2580-060, code 0249, serial SJ0139160 with a Tecumseh engine that appeared to be lightly used with no engine tags. R&R both tires, replaced fuel line, primer pump line and cleaned the carb and got it running good. Both of the belts appear to be OEM and in good condition but having a hard time trying to cross reference the belts OEM numbers. I used a tailors tape and got the auger belt as 1/2 x 32 and the drive belt as 3/8 x 37. Trying to cross reference the OEM numbers on the belts online, they are all over the place. Winters coming to MN soon and always want to have a spare hanging in the garage. Will check belt size with B & S. Keep up the good work with your videos!
Very well done video offering those with the Canadiana snowblowers some well needed information on belt sizes. You are correct, there is limited information online for anything on these snowblowers.
It's funny because in my intro/outro it looks all nice and sunny, that was for a few hours when I filmed. We got hit before and after. Thanks for watching!
A great canned engineering ethanol free fuel made in the USA 93 Octane that is good for 5 years. We use in for equipment being stored and suggest everybody start with it in their gas generators so they always start up. Cost is around $10 Cdn
I still use a Canadiana snowblower also. Model 826. They were built in Brampton I believe. I bought mine from Sears in 1983 I think. Sears was purchasing them from Canadiana and had them painted in their colours but that year their was so much snow they were just purchasing as is or Canadiana colours. They were definately built to last. I did replace the engine and upgraded to a 10HP
Yes that was very cool. I'm sure your viewers and myself included love this Oddball stuff. Back in the 80s I had a small repair business. So one day this guy brings in this Cub Cadet snowblower, I assume made in the 70s. To date I've never seen anything like it. 10hp Briggs & Stratton snow engine, 12v onboard electric start with battery and tray, dual flywheel alternator 1ac 1dc to run the lights and charge the battery. Mechanical dog lockout for the transmission to Aid in cold weather starting. I suppose it was marketed to be the Cadillac of snow blowers in many ways it was. I was so fascinated by it I bought it from the customer. Long gone now but if anybody knows what it was that I had let us know
Sounds awesome, I've got to work on quite a bit of different equipment over the years. Never had something like that though. Someone sent me a photo of a Suzuki SS865 snow blower and I was amazed. Wish I could work on one of them, sadly I never see Yamaha or Suzuki snow blowers. Thanks for watching!
Best channel on YT for snowblower maintenance. I am trying to find a belt for an older Sears/Craftsman 8HP 25" made in Canada snowblower with I believe a Tecumseh engine. Model C950-52708-0..ser # SC0094892. Now I measure the old belt at 3/8"W x 36". Can't seem to find parts for this model as the model number seems difficult to access on Google or anywhere. In your opinion do all I have to do is look for that belt size. Like you said it may have stretched but not by much..Much appreciated.
Nice job Jake, I haven't seen microfiche in a while, that was big back in your dad's younger days. (cough cough) 🙂 Good job with the belt info for others bud, you do it right. 👍
WOW,,,I'm just about to release a video on an Unknown Machine,,,This is soooo close to what I have. I had absolutely no identification on it... Great machine,,,great Vid.... My auger belt is 40 inches. It didn't need the power belt. Its a little different, 28 inch model but has the exact same console, Similar to the orange one in the video. Mine was orange, now red (paint was shot) Made in Canada, (that's all that was readable) 10hp Tecumseh Larger wheels Friction clutch 28 inch auger. 6 forward gears 1 revers with a detent 1 more without No neutral 2 grip type handles, 1 for power drive the other for auger Gonna give you a shout out and reference to this video as well. If ya dont mind?
That snowblower is a tank, I always measure the outside length of the belt and by an eccact same New belt and yes the used belt stretch a little bit but when you put the New belt it sit higher in the groove on the pully
@@EliminatorPerformance I've tried adding 3 times where to get ipls for them and post keeps getting deleted. last time didn't even have info as a link. what gives?
@@kenhilson786 RUclips flagging people who say "good video, thanks" it's ridiculous. Too many to keep up now, I check flagged comments once a month now and blast through them as quick as possible.
Good day Yea I was going to say why so many snowblowers in ? lol So B&S is power source, I think CTC blowers have power source on motors. Boy I think new style blowers with power steering are better than old differential style, I think less slippage more like pos-traction. Thanks for now
Don me man, we got a lot of snow here in the last couple of weeks with two big storms. Most of the snowblowers we are getting in for repairs are burnt out auger belts from customers trying to move too much snow at one time instead of taking 1/4 or 1/2 width cuts and stopping the drive while keeping the auger going and letting the auger clear gathered snow prior to engaging the drive again. It may take a little longer to clear the driveway but you do not end up paying us for repairs.
Yes Power Source Canada is the distributor for Briggs and Stratton parts (at least here in Ontario, Canada). Long story short, if you call them, my advice would be to speak to someone other than Jamie, as he isn't much help at all lol kind of a let down because he just tells you to call someone else. Mind you, when I spoke to another person, he was more than happy to look up what little information they did have (even if it turned out to be incorrect).

Love the video , they do not build them like that any more . I love the older machines . Thanks for taking the time .
I doubt you'd ever see one with a transmission and differential, maybe a Honda? Top of the like for the 80s. Thanks for watching!
Jake. As always,a good informational video. We got that snow as well, but I think you had more. Cheers. Rick
