Glad to see this comparison! I'm thinking about doing this exact switch and Google sent me to precisely the right video here.

The 3060Ti is a good GPU and a nice bump in performance over the 1080 especially price to price...You can also push it a bit further...

I think I might need a larger power supply to do so . .

Your set looks good, your audio is good, your camera is good, your premise is good. One thing that I struggle with is rambling. People are looking for the most information packed into as short of a video as possible (which doesn't help time viewed stats or do any favors for monetization unless the entire video is dedicated to result numbers - similar to gamersnexus).
Unless you're growing a close community (200 members max), very few people are interested in the "why" someone is doing anything. They clicked for the content in the title (I know I did), I learned some, mostly that a 3060 arbitrarily scores better than a 1080 by a factor of 1.5-2. And that's great. The fact that the information exists in the video was, I feel a fair exchange for my time and your production. Though, as I mentioned earlier - for the amount of content relating to the title the video should be a minute, maybe a minute and a half tops. I don't say that as a criticism of your production. I think you're well on the right track just understand that if this were a short format (though shorts have their own shortcomings with regard to not being able to seek through) I do think that in cases where you've got a 1v1 or even a 1v1v1 comparison your overall traction would benefit from a shorter format leading to potentially more likes, recommendeds and subs (shorter videos with titles detailing exactly what a viewer is getting are generally prioritized over longer ones). If anything, it's worth experimentation. The hardest part for me is figuring out what to cut out when everything feels very necessary. I normally start with limiting personal discussion about whatever I'm doing to an absolute minimum and then work up from there. Overlaying benchmark information with audio about what it means (effectively doubling your information delivery) rather than focusing exclusively on talking about a number everybody can see in the video (unless you've got blind viewers, in which case the captions are useful).
Conceptually, it's an interesting production method. It's a bit like holding up a piece of bread and instead of talking about the bread that people can see themselves, you tell a story about the bread, where it was made, some exclusive baking process, maybe why it is what it is instead of holding up a piece of bread saying "it's got holes, it's white and tastes like bread". 😂
I hope all of this is taken from a purely constructive point of view. I subbed and look forward to future content. 👍

I love this feedback. And thank you! So much to re-read and process in here. I was going for not only giving information but to also entertain with story and personality. Thank you 😊

Nobody should expect a 1080 to perform in 2022. Seriously folks, upgrades DO MATTER.

you should post your system specs in the description. also, this is a ton of build up for not a lot of information. superposition is just one synthetic benchmark, and is not always indicative of real world performance. this video doesn't really tell us much about what we would expect performance to be in actual video rendering situations or gaming for example - it just gives us a contextless number to compare the cards to. bigger number =/= better performance. give us some more concise information and specific data points, more benchmarks, run some other software or games!

Love the feedback. I update the description with my system spec and sharing it here also.
      My System:
      CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 3200Mhz
      RAM: 48 GB
GPU: Dell GeForce GTX 1080 with 8GB vs RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB
      OS: Window 10
Happy to make additional video with more benchmarks - ie Resolve & Blender render times etc.

RAM 48gb of what? Would be interesting to see the Mhz and brand of your RAM in the future. And also like others have mentioned try to have 3 benchmark points atleast and shorten down the time between the results, otherwise good video!
