If you're not a big reader of Japanese, German, or Italian historians then that's no crime, but it is absurd to say that only winning sides write the history. There are critical studies from all "sides" but they are all bound by the same rules if they are to be taken seriously.

David Irving is a handsome, manly, upper class Englishman, so he had to be portrayed by someone who has a head like a robbers dog. This actor has the appearance of a low class East London pickpocket. Look, he's probably a nice person under the skin, but his section as Mr Irving in a real life drama in which Irvings long standing enemies threw in 30 Million Pounds , retained all the top silks in London, while Irving stood alone defending himself, says a lot about the integrity of the Film makers. Don't bother watching the Film.

It is no coincidence if plain Deborah Lipstadt is played by beautiful Rachel Weisz (it’s Hollywood) when handsome David Irving is portrayed by someone - albeit a great actor - who looks a bit like a toad. I might follow your advice and not watch this film. Does she manage to prove the existence of gas chambers in the end? (I'm asking about the fiction of course).
