OMG🎉 I've been waiting so hard for this since you announced it. Thank you! Your ouverture is marvelous, I tried to play it once and it is so hard. If I may ask, how much time does it take for you to be able to play an opera like this or a movement? Happy new year btw
You're welcome, and thank you for the compliment. For an opera like this, which I know very well, having conducted multiple productions of it, it maybe takes 6-7 hours of recording (essentially 3x the length of what I'm recording), plus then another 3x for post production editing and uploading. So it is definitely a long process, even when I know the piece. If I have to learn a piece from scratch, I have found that it is much better to concentrate on practicing the music to a point that recording it takes fewer takes. So that in itself is also a lot of time. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I couldn’t agree more. Despite having conducted it many times, I’m always finding more details in the score, and it remains constantly a musical joy.
