  • In this video I will show you how to get to Múlagljúfur canyon in #iceland. I recorded the video in June 2021. Múlagljúfur is a massive canyon in the southern region of Iceland and quite close to the Glacier Lagoon (Jökulsárlón). The reason I made this video is that it can be a little bit tricky to find it since the gravel road that leads there is unmarked.
    This is where you need to turn from route 1 to get to where the hike starts:

    I can’t believe this is one of the only hike videos at this amazing place😍 on RUclips….
    I hiked in the fog(which came in late afternoon last part of my hike there) until you couldn’t physically go any further felt like I was on top of the world best hike I’ve ever done immensely beautiful!!!
    Also bathed in the glacial streams behind the car park wall now that was refreshing 😅
    Good video cheers

    I had a laugh when you said the path was closed because it had a row of rocks across it. In Wales United Kingdom they try not to put signs up in the mountains to keep the illusion of adventure. Thank you for the video.

    great video. What is the approximate distance to the first viewpoint? I am disabled and can hike about 2.2 miles total with aid. Can't do the full canyon but hope to make it to first view.

    Thanks for posting the GPS coordinates! Great idea. We are going to Iceland in a few weeks. I have read it is 'possible' to hike in winter but not recommended. Do you know if the road is plowed or if you can even see the trail with a fresh blanket of snow? I'm assuming no but it doesn't hurt to ask! I'd love to go but I won't be a fool if it's questionable.

    • @hermannhelguson
      @hermannhelguson  7 месяцев назад +1

      You are very welcome and thank you for watching. Hiking in winter really depends on weather and snow conditions each time. Sometimes it's completely fine. I am not sure if it's plowed to be honest. Hope it will be possible when you are there!
