When I was an intern I had an emergency cholecystectomy in the middle of my shift, and all the residents, the attending, my friends (other interns) were there, it was a very scary and painful experience, but they did that more bearable. I'm always greteful with all of them.

Bailey is like the parent for Cristina when she had surgery.Because she sat with her through the whole thing But Bailey is like the coach when I comes to Meredith. Because is had been there and operated on her every single time. I know that sounds really weird but I thought of that really randomly Thank you for your time 😂
Okay but look at this. Bailey stuck by Christina’s side during surgery and mere wasn’t allowed in bc they’re friends. Yang stuck by baby Tuck’s side when he was getting operated on because Bailey wasn’t allowed into the operating room. Even when Hahn offered for Yang to do something other than that. To top it off Bailey told Hahn basically what Mere told Bailey about hating her

Last year I went to the ER after severe abdominal cramps and long story short, there was a 21 mm cyst on my ovary. The doctor removed the cyst, saved the ovary, but needed to remove the fallopian tube as it was crushed. My surgeon said that the other tube will pick up the slack, much like a second kidney or other eye will adjust and work overtime when the other fails.
She was the closest person to Cristina. They usually seem to kick the closest family member or friend out of the room even though they're all fairly close.
idk about other people, but if I was being operated on, it doesn't matter how close of a friend you are - I don't want anyone but the surgeon and nurses (who hopefully don't know me) to be there. It's really vulnerable being on a table without a stitch on you, knowing you're 100% dependent on how capable the OR staff is. And knowing what Cristina's character is like, I doubt she would want Mer to be there when she's most exposed (physically, but mostly emotionally).
