    I absolutely love these PI videos! I can't use the WinLink stuff, and I don't do a lots of APRS stuff. I just love the way you utilize Raspberry PI's! I'm a blind RUclipsr; and I'm also a blind amateur radio operator, since 1996! DE K4JSJ!

    Even tho I have no use for this I love seeing all the specialized uses people find for the Pi

    Great Idea and it looks like profiles for each radio. I will give this a try with my FT991A to set it for more than one mode. Thank you!

    I've implemented a similar approach for my desktop Linux as I use it for many things other than HAM radio. However for a ShackPi based on your build-a-pi script I prefer to change the login to prevent automatic logins and then use a login user name for each radio e.g. I'd have a pi user for default stuff and running admin updates etc. then new user for my X-6100, one for my FT-857 etc etc. The benefit is it always works and doesn't care if the radio is configured directly or with FLDigi (although it usually is) and doesn't care about changes in audio interface etc.

    It doesn't necessarily matter that a computer is out of date as long as it works. Too many people are paranoid about updates.

    Great video. I need to get back to the radio. All I have is the TS 2000 and it is in the closet. Thanks for the video,

      Sounds like that radio could use a little exercise. Time to put it on the air :-)

    Can you develop a program to run a single radio in two applications simultaneously? I would like to operate fldigi and jscall at the same time. I have used the AMRRON Trimode but find it clunky and hard to navigate.
    Thanks.

      There really isn't a "program" per say that's needed. This just requires the use of virtual sound cards. I haven't played with it in a while but BAP has a virtual sound card already setup. I am going to shoot you a message through Patreon.

    Hi Jason! When configuring Flrig for radio type, say a FT-891 and Signalink, does the radio and Signalink need to be hooked up in order to setup Flrig? Thanks for all your content! It’s been invaluable!

    • @KM4ACK
      @KM4ACK  2 года назад +1

      You will need the radio connected when setting it up in FLRIG. The sound card shouldn't matter other than having it connected will allow you to verify that PTT is working correctly.

    What must I reconfigure in Pat Winlink?

    • @KM4ACK
      @KM4ACK  2 года назад

      Depends. I set up two different config files in Pat Menu and then just choose the one I need for the radio I am using.

    Hi Jason and tnx for the great work that is build-a-pi! Do you think it would be possible to run your scripts on Ubuntu or are they specific to the pi?

    • @KM4ACK
      @KM4ACK  2 года назад +1

      currently the user name needs to be Pi for BAP to run. I am working on removing this restriction. However, the Pi uses an ARM processor and several of the applications that BAP installs are ARM specific and wouldn't work with an x86 processor without some tweaking.

    Would like that for FLDIGI as well, so that I can have multiple modems going at once.
