- Listen… calling someone fat is NOT a greeting! 😂 Why do aunties, uncles, and even random family friends think it’s okay to say, “Wow, you’ve gained weight” before even saying hello?? Like… ma’am, where’s the “How are you?” 😭
In this video, we’re getting into why weight comments are so common in certain cultures, why they hit differently in North America, and how to shut them down with clapbacks (or boundaries, if you’re feeling classy).
Have you ever been hit with the “You’ve put on weight” greeting? What did you say back? Drop your best responses in the comments! ⬇️

It’s really annoying when you’re simply trying to have a good time with family, and end up being judged and shamed for your body. I’m definitely “team clap back” lol! 😂
@@raineasafo super annoying! People will find the most insignificant things to judge you on instead of minding their own business
Yeah my Aunt makes sneed weight remarks. I keep space between her & I. The distance between relatives helps me maintain fewer to almost Zero interactions. Barely text.
@@NicoTNN boundaries are so important! They are necessary so you can have your peace of mind.
I always support a quick clap back aha
@@joshdhue for real! Sometimes it’s needed 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The Aunties can go shove it 🤣 They lowkey are haters and are usually people that are unhappy with themselves.
Happy people dont go around shaming and guilting other's.
I deal with it by removing myself from said environments ✌🏾
Period! Happy people are not judging how you look. They are celebrating your beauty. Setting those boundaries is so important!
