    Thats a visually very pleasant presentation of various adverbs of frequency that provides a solid understanding of the displayed vocabulary. Well done!😁

      Это синонимы.Но rarely употребляется чаще в разговорной речи в значении редко.

      There isn’t any semantic difference. The only difference is that seldom is a bit more formal.

    Most of them are flexible though, depending on the speaker and the context, so, for some people generally might be more frequent than usually, or they may use often/frequently interchangeably!

    • @27.minhquangvo76
      @27.minhquangvo76 Год назад +3

      To be exact though, these percentages are only relative and do not correspond to the actual frequency of an event. Oftentimes, "rarely" or "seldom" can mean almost never (0.5-1%) or at most 20%. The range of "sometimes" and "often" is usually quite large, with "sometimes covering most of the lower half and "often" covering most of the upper half.

    This is mostly accurate to how I use these phrases as a native speaker, though in practice there is a bit of flexibility.
    However, "seldom" in particular has very formal connotation, and I don't believe I've ever had to use it in conversation. A more neutral, although wordy, substitution could be "every once in a while".
    Also, while "generally" can be used for frequency of events over time, it's more common to use it without regards for time at all. Specifically, it's used to describe groups with many of its units having traits based on general principles or rules, while still acknowledging the existence of exceptions.
    To replace it, I would place "regularly" above "often" but below "frequently".

    As a native speaker of English: this list gives you a grasp of the scale of adverbs of frequency, but a lot of these are synonyms and shouldn't be listed in this manner, as shown in the list below.
    - Rarely, seldom
    - Occasionally, sometimes
    - Often, frequently, generally, usually
