The best way for me is to not focus on too many characters when starting, and studying whether it's worth it to get them to level 80. Or if level 70 or below is enough for your purposes. Divergent Universe for example lets you play your character as a level 80 even if they're actually just level 1. If you google "HSR ascension planner" there's a tool that shows you how many resources you need to level up and max out specific characters.
