At 1:23 you see that candle like window at the 3rd gable from the left. Did your tourist guide told you, what happened there? A bomb was flying in the cathedral in that spot, and that candle is there to remember. The remains of the St. Liborius is taken out of the cathedral on the first saturday of libori, but just on that specific day. The other days the golden "coffin" is in the museum where the fountain is (just google Liborius and you see it). Just some information if you are curious ;)
The Münster in Ulm is the biggest evangelic church in Germany, not in the world. The catholic ones like Cologne, Erfurt, Bamberg are way bigger, taller
Zac i tell you. The Ulm Minster is breathtaking. I was on the top of the tower. I´m arfaid of heights, and couldn´t go down back the stairs on my own. A super helpful Australian Tourist came up to me, took me by the hand and said: No matter how long it will take, i´ll stay by your side. Which he did. I never will forget this man and the Minster. If you should ever visit it - you´ll know what i´m talking about - heights and so - gg
Here's a nice piece of information from the Great Book Of Stupid Superstitions: Never light a candle with the flame of another candle, or somewhere a seaman will die.
"Native Friedrich Sertürner, a pharmacist's apprentice in Paderborn, was the first to isolate morphine from opium in 1804." I bet they won't include that factoid in the tour. Hey, glad to see you're taking a look around your town. Look forward to more from you as the season gets underway.
Mojo Jim something about opium made me laugh way too hard lol Can’t wait for the season to get going there’s plenty of time to travel too which I can’t wait to film 🙌 hope you’re doing well mojo
@@ZacSaleski Thanks, Zac. I'm fine; digging out from 5 - 8 inches of snow yesterday. This is the third week in a row for that. That's great that the schedule will give you time to travel in Europe. The Wikipedia article where I got the morphine to opium stuff mentioned Paderborn has connections to major train lines. I think it has an airport, too. I don't remember if you got to travel much when you were in Poland. I lived in France and Spain for work some time ago. I'd go back to France in a flash. Best food in the world. Either there or Italy. Take care and all the best of luck to you.
@@mojojim6458 Ew Snow! Stay safe out there. Also thats pretty amazing you had a chance to live in europe for a bit. you must know all the best places. lol Sadly i really didnt have a lot of time to travel in poland once the season started alot was happening at once. Hoping to get to spain and other countries this spring/summer
@@ZacSaleski See, you've only been in Germany for a little while and you're turning into a native. Already you've developed a Sehnsucht nach Süden, a longing for the South, where it's nice and warm. What you should have right now is a Sehnsucht, ins Bett zu gehen. It's 8:00 pm here, so it must be 2:00 am there. But you're a young guy, with nothing much to do tomorrow, right? ;)
Sorry for beeing nearly a Year late, but YT sugests me your Video today. The first Word entering a Church should not be "Shit". And the thing with your Caps.... ok, hope you get it 😉
At first, filming in a religious place needs special allowments. Drone shots also. You could damage 1500 years old architecture and at least hurt someone. There are special laws in germany for drones. At second, i recommend you to visit a old monastery also, because i think you have big churches in america also, but you dont have any monastery.
In the Paderborner Dom there is a bone of mother Theresa and a Giant Gold Gravebox too
you should take the hats off when walking into a place of worship ^_^ . Welcome, enjoy, come to Aachen if you have the time, I'll give you guys a tour
Mogosan Andrei yeah we learned that the hard way🤦♂️
Oh I’ve heard some good things about Aachen message me and we can figure that out 😁😁
