Okay but at the end where she's making the little package and talking to her mum in their mother tongue made me so emotional. I'm just about to start university and saying goodbye to my mum was so hard. And Linh having that phone call with her mum just really hit home. 😭❤

I loved when you talked about how you are being mindful about truly experiencing college. As someone who didn't have that opportunity, immediately entering the work force and living on my own after highschool I sometimes get sad that I missed out on young adult life. I don't have any of those carefree memories to look back on with friends or self discovery. Definitely take advantage of it since you have the opportunity to do so.
i feel like “college is gonna be the best time of your life” is a retrospective thought. you don’t realize it until you’re well into adulthood because i have good days and i meet lovely people but it’s so hard that there’s no way at this present time that i can consider college the best time of my life 😭

Every time of your life can be the best time but it's up to you to try and have fun. We usually don't notice how lucky we were at times until that stage of live has come to an end
I graduated earlier this year. I don't think it was the best time of my life. it was a time in my life: filled with up and downs, friendship and experiences, and times I cried my eyes out on the bus. I'm looking forward to experiencing more life: getting married some day, having kids, making a difference with my chosen career path, seeing the world. Every time should be the best time of your life, because every era has it's special moments, and excruciating ones as well.

I’m in my senior year of college now and if there’s one thing I learned about the “best time of your life” thing is that you can truly have your best moments, meet your forever friends, make unforgettable memories- but I’ve learned to think about the fact that life can always get better and better! We only go up from here ! I strive to make every year my best year in some way. It’s all about new doors opening and achieving new goals :) enjoy yourself !!
linh talking in vietnamese just makes me wanna cryyy. like yk when you're trying to do something you're not really good at for the people you love. i'm vietnamese too and i grew up in vietnam, so it's easy for me to know that linh's accent is not perfect, but it's just so beautiful how she talks to her mom like that TT

it's truly so beautiful to watch you spend time with the people you love, to go to class, to go out and eat good food. you really seem like you're living in the moment. in melbourne, australia, we have been in our 6th lockdown since the beginning of august and are enduring the worlds longest lockdown. i haven't seen my friends since july, i haven't been able to work or go out to eat or even have a picnic. i'll be completing my bachelors degree in film online this month despite our final productions being cancelled. but i just wanted to say thank you for sharing these little bits of your life while still being safe, it reminds me that life will be back to normal soon. ♡

To Linh and anyone else living through a similar phase of life: please do your best to ignore the idea that college is the best time in your life. That's a trash idea and a really shitty pressure for people to live with. It's also, like a lot of things, A LIE. Of course it will be the best time for SOME people, but don't let people make you believe it NEEDS to be YOUR best time too. If it is, that's fantastic!! But you aren't failing at life or missing out or wasting your youth if it's just "a time" - likely one with some high highs, AND low lows. 💖 Our society has glorified the university experience in such a way as to create unrealistic expectations of what that time is meant to be to people. Just do you pals.
