    When I cook anything in the crockpot that has bones, I pull all the meat out when its done and put it in a big bowl and then pull all the bones out. I find it to be easier and quicker for me.

    Marshall, yes this is an old recipe. I am your Mom's age and I got this from my mom. I think this recipe came from the depression or even farther back. I'm sure it became a way to stretch a meal for a large family. I heard many stories from my dad on the depression. My parents were lucky because dad's parents were stock farmers and so was moms.
    Everyone needs to can everything they can and stock you pantry with garden canned vegetables and meat. I really think we need to build a smoke house. God Bless the family and dad, enjoy watching you.

    I love to use the smoked pork neck bones for soup and sometimes pinto beans.

    • @majeliomontenegro1
      @majeliomontenegro1 2 года назад

      I use them for split pea or ham and bean soup. They work just as well as ham hocks and they're less expensive.

  • @beaandmaddy6623
    @beaandmaddy6623 3 года назад +5

    IT LOOKS GREAT MARSHALLL, BUT I WOULD TAKE OUT THE MEAT BEFORE IT FALLS OFF THE BONES, TAKE OFF THE MEAT AND PUT THE MEAT BACK IN. THIS WAY ANY TINY BONES WON'T GET INTO THE CROCK POT MEAL. I DO THAT WHEN I MAKE HAM HOCKS AND BEANS. 😊😊

    I love this recipe, although I never made it until I saw Mama Joyce making it on RUclips. Since then, it's a staple in my house (as are several other of ya'll's recipes!). But--over the years of watching your channel--I've gotten a "curiosity question...why do you always use bottled spring water, rather than your community's tap water? Now, I realize you live in a small town in Georgia (no judgment there, as I have lots of family in rural Georgia towns), so maybe your local water is an issue? I am fortunate enough to live in Orlando, FL, where the tap water quality is liquid gold. But, when I visit with my kin in Moultrie and Bainbridge, they're also confident in their tap water quality (although I think those folks may likely be on wells). So, what's up with that? Thanks! and Merry Christmas!
