Looks so good Marshall.my mom used to cook neckbones and rice all the time when we were growing up (I’m 70). Sweet memories, think I’ll look for neckbones next time I go to Piggly wiggly
When I cook anything in the crockpot that has bones, I pull all the meat out when its done and put it in a big bowl and then pull all the bones out. I find it to be easier and quicker for me.
Hi I grew up on the West coast and now I live in Georgia , I didn’t grow up with certain foods, but now I have embraced southern cooking, looks like y’all had it figured out !! I can’t wait to make this
Marshall, yes this is an old recipe. I am your Mom's age and I got this from my mom. I think this recipe came from the depression or even farther back. I'm sure it became a way to stretch a meal for a large family. I heard many stories from my dad on the depression. My parents were lucky because dad's parents were stock farmers and so was moms. Everyone needs to can everything they can and stock you pantry with garden canned vegetables and meat. I really think we need to build a smoke house. God Bless the family and dad, enjoy watching you.
IT LOOKS GREAT MARSHALLL, BUT I WOULD TAKE OUT THE MEAT BEFORE IT FALLS OFF THE BONES, TAKE OFF THE MEAT AND PUT THE MEAT BACK IN. THIS WAY ANY TINY BONES WON'T GET INTO THE CROCK POT MEAL. I DO THAT WHEN I MAKE HAM HOCKS AND BEANS. 😊😊
That looks delicious. Cornbread and honey. Mmm mmm. My mother would use those bones to make bone broth gir bean soup. She put a splash of apple cider vinegar in it to bring out the flavor even more.
Come on with it Marshall keep it old school those are the best meals we grew up on..that’s a entire pot of goodness..I know that rice is tasty 😋 Thank you for always sharing your family meals with us..this brings back so many memories of my Daddy in the kitchen he was from Georgia and Loved to cook..As me and my Mama waited and enjoyed every bit of his cooking just like you did with Sweet Mama Joyce GOD Bless You💕🙏🏾
This dish is so delicious. I remember my mama, making this with braised oxtails, & she would add a big can of tomatoes & their juices to it. It feeds a lot of hungry mouths too. Enjoy your meal & God Bless y'all.
Looks delicious! I would love to taste the flavor of the rice with a smoky flavor. You are absolutely right about the bones giving more flavor. I will be making this for my channel adding my own spin to it.
Oh my, my, Marshall. I forgot about this. This is something my granny would fix for herself and my grandpa, long time ago.. Thanks for sharing, brother. I've saved this one!
Marshall that looks so good reminds me of mom and dad's cooking they made neck bone and potatoes and oh they where so good with crackling cornbread miss those days my kids won't eat alot of it but I make them try it at least
Love neckbone we cook all day long in pasta sauce, don't like the smoked neck bones. I use the raw clean really good and brown on sheet pan in the oven seasoned and into the pasta sauce when brown the best sauce you'll ever have.make extra you'll fight over the bones soooooo good. Thank you for sharing Marshall have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. 🥰🙏❤🙏❤

I seriously thought I was the only person left who cooks smoked pork neck bones. They are delicious. I love to cook mine in the instant pot and take it off the bone and eat it like pulled pork. 🤤 Where did you get the chopper? That is cute. And not so bulky. Great video. 👍
Https:/my.tupperware.com/countryboymarshall these choppers are So Handy Wanda...if you want to look at them..go to my website and press "Shop my Site" and scroll till you see them~Marshall
That's looks real real good. Can't wait to try it. Where did you get that chopper, I need one just like that. Could you let me know where I can get it.
That looks so good! I have never eaten any neckbones of any kind. Just never thought they would taste very good. This looks wonderful! Marshall, where did you get that little onion chopper gadget? I love that!
I love this recipe, although I never made it until I saw Mama Joyce making it on RUclips. Since then, it's a staple in my house (as are several other of ya'll's recipes!). But--over the years of watching your channel--I've gotten a "curiosity question...why do you always use bottled spring water, rather than your community's tap water? Now, I realize you live in a small town in Georgia (no judgment there, as I have lots of family in rural Georgia towns), so maybe your local water is an issue? I am fortunate enough to live in Orlando, FL, where the tap water quality is liquid gold. But, when I visit with my kin in Moultrie and Bainbridge, they're also confident in their tap water quality (although I think those folks may likely be on wells). So, what's up with that? Thanks! and Merry Christmas!
Marshall what time is supper? I'll bring the sweet tea and some chow chow. This looks amazing.
Ditto‼️
How do you make chow chow?
I have been making this since I saw Mamma Joyce make it. Delicious.
OH YUMMY. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED THIS RECIPE. THANK Y'ALL GOD BLESS. WE LOVE YALL.

I love to use the smoked pork neck bones for soup and sometimes pinto beans.
I use them for split pea or ham and bean soup. They work just as well as ham hocks and they're less expensive.
