Have been trying to do a private equity episode for a year, and finally got Cameron on the show! PEP is a beast. A$12b in assets under management and growing.
Let me know what else you'd like to know about private equity - I find it so fascinating so will definitely do more on it!

Interesting conversation... I liked the smooth way he transitioned to a soft NO... Clear skill...

Hi Madison - great video series and i'm an Aussie living in Canberra. Just curious to answer your wish list question it surely would be (a) Auckland airport (b) Auckland harbour crossing (c) Hobbiton - Lord of the Rings filming set. I know B is a public asset but if one could invest in it, I would. Anyway keep up the videos and maybe "cross the ditch" to interview Aussie businesses that have large operations in NZ such as ANZ Bank etc. Cheers

Interesting that they are not into tech/SaaS late stage buyout or secondary share acquisition. It would be good to get Vista Capital, Pencarrow and/or Direct Capital on for an interview as well.

Another great interview, did i hear correctly thaf their could be opportunities for retail investors to get in on some of this companys action via listed funds?

Yes! They've launched a PIE fund in NZ. But I don't advertise for them so I'll let you give it a Google and do your own research on if it's suitable for you.

They have a perception problem because of the long list of examples of Private Equity burdening good businesses with debt and ruining them

Hello Madison, show notes and a transcript would be great.

Hey George, what kind of notes would you like? Info sources? Or my interview notes?
A full transcript would probably be too large to post on here (I'll look into some options) but if you download the show and drop it in Slack, or a transcribing service, that could be useful for you.

Me too! He's easily one of the biggest names in private equity in Australia & NZ. Has been behind all of its biggest deals: Tegel, Griffins, Peters.

No migratory birds coming into NZ? That doesnt sound right.... I think he must be suggesting specific migratory birds that could potentially infect the chickens somehow but it cant happen for whatever reason probably they dont migrate near the chicken farms or dont migrate from problematic areas of the world? Anyway another great episode by Madison.

Mutton birds have one of the largest migratory pattern on earth, nesting in NZ

Private equity do not care about business and social objectives. Only if it generates a return.
