i honestly think im happiest when watching the nlss. consistent great positive banter that ive listened to hundreds of hours of and still isn't matched by other bantercasts.
14:00 Those dogs, however, initially blew up the Russian tanks as they were not trained to deal with moving tanks and gunfire. As a result they just ran back to the Russians, where they blew up. Another fun aspect was that the dogs were trained using Russian tanks, so they charged at Russian tanks, not the German tanks.
What Rob originally called the Fermi Paradox is actually called Hawking's Razor, and it has very little to do with the ethical standards of alien races at least directly. Hawking's Razor is a statistical distribution of the potential level of technological achievement of an intelligent alien species that the human race encounters. There are three groups of technological achievement: aliens that are less technologically advanced than we are, aliens that are roughly equally advanced as we are, and aliens that are more technologically advanced than we are. Statistically the first and third options are far more probable than the second, Hawking argues that they are more probable to the degree that they render the second option infinitesimally probable, simply because as soon as civilization begins and technological achievement is pursued in an organized and intentional fashion technological advancement not only happens rapidly but enables further technological advancement as it advances. Now Hawking's Razor does have indirect implications regarding alien ethical standards in first-encounter scenarios. Alien species that are too divergent in technological advancement may not even recognize each other as intelligent. We humans do not recognize ants or termites as being intelligent despite their remarkable capacity for organization and environmental exploitation. Our species could be as ants are to us to another species. And ants themselves likely do not recognize us as intelligent either, they likely cannot even distinguish between our creations and the natural environment because to them such a distinction is meaningless, it is out of their scope of comprehension. Consequently they have no qualms about infesting our buildings and damaging them, or stealing our food, just as we have no qualms about exterminating entire colonies wholesale. It is certainly advantageous to be in the third category rather than the first, an ant colony might take an entire generation to infest a human home, maybe longer to do significant damage to it. A human with a can of gasoline and a match can destroy most wild ant colonies in a matter of minutes, sometimes people do it for fun. I'm sure many of you have seen the videos of people pouring molten metal into ant colonies and then digging out the metal after it had solidified, revealing an intricate metal structure. Now imagine we encounter a third-category species that decides to make a work of art out of our destruction, such is the hazard of the razor that this scenario is more probable than us encountering a species that we can even recognize as being intelligent.
He's probably beginning the rendering/upload at 9pm or 10pm or so, so it would be finished sometime into the night. He's just too lazy to add a schedule to be un-privated at a reasonable time (from a NA point of view). In any case, its better for viewers outside of America.
Two notes about bell peppers. One, while they are all the same species and you can just pick red bells early and sell them as green bells, there are varieties as green bell that never turn red. Before you yell "same species have to come out the same!", remember all dogs are canis lupis familiaris. There can be fairly massive differences in varieties of a single species. Two, even if you're dealing with the same variety, ripening is a chemical change in the fruit/vegetable. It changes the flavor. So acting as though you're a pleb for not waiting for your pepper to finish ripening would be like acting as though there's no purpose to drinking green tea. You eat green bells and drink green tea because you're after that flavor profile in that moment rather than how those things taste when fully ripe.
I only realised that peeing with my shirt under my chin wasn't normal when I was like 16 I thought I was a genius for figuring out the best way to piss turns out you can just like let your shirt go and it's fine
NL I don't want to be rude, but you're a smart dude... what was that crap with the water weight about? Imagine a 1kg weight. Does it matter if you hold it with your hands or on your shoulders? What you're asking is as though you're holding that weight with your stomach. It's still a 1kg weight. As long as it's having an impact on ANY part of your body, that part adds to your total weight (by the 1kg) and in turn impacts the scale. The 1kg weight at no point stops weighing 1kg.
NL buddy Physics are really hard to understand i feel you but i think you may be on to something with the question: If you weigh 100kg and then if you drink 1kg of water, what do you weigh?
Marflepop That's a good thought, but just using energy doesn't make you weigh less, you have to actually excrete the waste from the energy consumed to have any change in weight.
Connor Barber There are ways to excrete mass other than peeing and pooping. In fact the majority of weight loss when you lose weight is actually through breathing, with fat being broken down into carbon dioxide and water. That being said, I don't know how much mass you could lose in the short amount of time it would take to chug a liter of water.
There's no conspiracy theory that the Wright brothers weren't the ones to build the first plane, but there is a controversy about their flight counting because the plane needed mechanical help to get the plane in the air.The first person to build a plane that did not need it was Santos Dumont.
Mega VHS I wanna say maybe a month ago? They were talking about movies that are good with animals in the lead roles if I remember right? Or something similar and Austin said zootopia and was just saying it was good then everyone says he must like juddy hop porn and be a furry basically lol
YOOOooooo. Someone came into the supermarket I work at and asked for tiny bananas. I told him I didn't know what those were. Now I realize he probably wanted PLANTAINS. Thank you NLSS crew.
NL the reason the heisenberg uncertainty principles exists is because particles may not actually be particles. They exist in a wave-particle duality where the particle is a 3-dimensional wave that has higher points of energy where a particle is most likely to appear when it collapses. The exact nature of this is currently unknown but the current physics only represents our best understanding of it. Models don't necessarily correspond to reality they only align to what we have and can observe at the present that have the best fit. For example atoms may be the best scientific model of understanding for most applications but it very well may operate in a completely different manner than we thought. But currently there is no super great reasons to pursue the understanding a great deal more than we do until the idea's become more marketable. When we need to predict something to a very very high degree of certainty there may come the time where a greater understanding is necessary.
I mean, I'm not a physicist either, so I can't tell you why this is the case or prove it is the case (and in fact I acknowledge that I might just be wrong or inaccurate), but the idea of the Uncertainty Principle is in essence that measuring one of those properties (velocity or position) causes the other property to change. And because quantum physics sucks, it doesn't do so in a completely proportional, predictable manner. Therefore you can't predict the result of observation to 100%, only that a change has occurred. Therefore you can only measure one or the other at any given time.
Who are you to say whats normal roughly half the poppulation has to sit for a pea and then plenty of blokes cant be bothered standing up or even cant stand up to pea.
hello from the future! it's 2019 dec 25, Josh goes back to the past today to talk to the crew about the evil alien dinosaurs...

Nl I live in the same timezone as you why are you uploading things a 2AM
Matthew Eriksen you speak the fucking truth
He's probably beginning the rendering/upload at 9pm or 10pm or so, so it would be finished sometime into the night. He's just too lazy to add a schedule to be un-privated at a reasonable time (from a NA point of view). In any case, its better for viewers outside of America.
1. Not everyone is in america. 2. Why does it matter when he uploads...? You can watch the video when ever you want. Fucking americans.
He stays awake till 2 or 3 every night from my understanding
Urcle you seem very upset
"From an alien standpoint....they couldn't find...alien technology....because the aliens....was themselves."
What.
Makes total sense if you don't think about it at all
This is actually fucking outstanding. Like this the quality comedy I was looking for today.
Holy shit, this one has a unique description instead of the general docket and links copy/paste.
You know it's good when Ryan changes the description
In case Nick hasn't looked already: the tiny bananas are called Dwarf Cavendish bananas.
I had to look, it was irking me.
Passpartout is back, yay.
P.S: thanks for the warning in the description egg.
Thanks for the VODs NL!
Don't know why this was recommended in 2024, but it's a nice throwback
Philosophical mutterings to the calming soundtrack of Passpartout. My life is complete.

Its in his best interest to upload it fast.
I for real really did enjoy this show, never laughed that hard before
PASSPARTOUT not PASSPARTAO

jeydonfal1 NL knows how to pronounce it correctly. He's just being a shit disturber.
Are you ooballin me?
I only realised that peeing with my shirt under my chin wasn't normal when I was like 16
I thought I was a genius for figuring out the best way to piss
turns out you can just like let your shirt go and it's fine
so, nobody's compiling the passpartout drawings, anymore?
DUDE PINEAPPLE IS FINE ON A FUCKING PIZZA AND ADDING SOME SPICY TO A SWEET TOPPED PIZZA IS ALSO FUCKING GR8

Alexandra Pierce That profile pic's from homestarrunner, right?
Heck yea, it is. :3
That's the ugly one. I mean, what's her face.
wolfspam Nope. What's Her Face.
It makes sense that the dinosaurs were evil because from an alian stand point they couldnt find the technology because the technology was themselves
The perfect start to my day
Oh a 10am upload thanks NL
lets go uk boys
Has anybody watched the twitch vod for this and noticed all their voices sound very high pitch?
Anyone got the Imgur link to the Passpartout drawings?
NL I don't want to be rude, but you're a smart dude... what was that crap with the water weight about? Imagine a 1kg weight. Does it matter if you hold it with your hands or on your shoulders? NL saved europe with this upload
Fucking hell when Nick was talking at like 17:00 this dude is a genius
actually the truth, pretty much. Chat was losing their mind though
NL buddy Physics are really hard to understand i feel you but i think you may be on to something with the question: If you weigh 100kg and then if you drink 1kg of water, what do you weigh?
But the skull at the end of Pass part ouch looks the a white silhouette of the mask
You weigh 101kg.
I would think it would be a little less than 101 kg because of the use of energy to take in the water and stuff. But idk though.
Marflepop That's a good thought, but just using energy doesn't make you weigh less, you have to actually excrete the waste from the energy consumed to have any change in weight.

The Twitch VOD was higher pitched for some reason... or I'm going crazy.
Leon Solaris Your not, reload the vod should fix it, I have that issue sometimes... No idea what causes it
It was both hilarious and very disorienting as I had no idea who was speaking at times
And to think we almost had a TRIPLE jinx on the switch places question
Great conversation to start out with, great job guys XD
Dear NL,
Your docket looks really hot tonight
But I bet it'd look ever better with Golf With Your Friends
XXX, Josh
Dear Egg,
You look really hot playing Passpartout
But I bet you look even better while playing Escapist. (WHERE'S THE NEXT EPISODE DUDE?)
XXX,

This is the best thing to happen to humanity.

Could someone explain to me when did the Austin zootopia joke started?
Mega VHS I wanna say maybe a month ago? They were talking about movies that are good with animals in the lead roles if I remember right? Or something similar and Austin said zootopia and was just saying it was good then everyone says he must like juddy hop porn and be a furry basically lol
MarzTek lol i have to find it
MarzTek it definitely started at least since midway through last year
Andres S was it that long ago? I watch to much of this content if it's blending together that much 😖 lol
This water thing at around 17 minutes makes me really really really question NL's intellect...
k you need to do the disc game again
YOOOooooo. Someone came into the supermarket I work at and asked for tiny bananas. I told him I didn't know what those were. Now I realize he probably wanted PLANTAINS. Thank you NLSS crew.
Jesus Christ Josh's laugh is too good
That turtle CLEARly has a shell, right in front of it.
Description says I shouldn´t watch this.
DON´T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
what do you yell when you finish cooking dinner for your cannibalistic pubg duo?
.

come eat eye dan!
I cried during the Jorge costanza bit
NL is a bio major but doesn't realise that things in your stomach have weight...

Josh, are you feeling alright, buddy?
I'm fucking screaming at this tampon discussion.
Does Austin have a RUclips channel?
yes
LastGreyWoIf
NL do you use the Twitch export feature to upload stream vods or do you local record them?
Yall should play Drawception! That would be hilarious
NL, why don't you clip the beginning of these at the right time?
he doesn't want to get the end of the intro since they are often from copyrighted properties.
He's gotten better about it recently
This one is fucking beautiful.
That dolphin looked like a dude under water with just his top of the head showing ..think Homer with grey hair. :)
absolutely l o v e the blind comic lash meta
Great docket
Actually unacceptable time to upload guy
After this show, I want to watch NL do a stand-up show.
Passpartout and I'm passpartin
C O M E D I A N
An Nlss that's uploaded at a normal time? Egg you feeling ok?
I mean, I'm not a physicist either, so I can't tell you why this is the case or prove it is the case (and in fact I acknowledge that I might just be wrong or inaccurate), but the idea of the Uncertainty Principle is in essence that measuring one of those properties (velocity or position) causes the other property to change. In public I pee normally, but at home I always use the shirt-under-the-chin pee. I'm 21
Who are you to say whats normal roughly half the poppulation has to sit for a pea and then plenty of blokes cant be bothered standing up or even cant stand up to pea.
As long as you aren't one of those animals who drop their pants to their ankles to pee, you should be good.
I was just referencing to a "normal" pee in the context of pulling my shirt up to my chin, not to peeing as a whole.
Dislike
The water thing makes me worry about NL.
NL, its 5am... why do you do this to me?
When it has a unique description you know it's gonna be good
(Also go to sleep nl)
This NLSS was gold.
Mother fuckin 4:00 in the morning upload and I'm watching all of this anyway, fuck you egg
Passpartout is fucking great for the NLSS.
PASSPARTOUT LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
