As a Texas, I've had my fair share of rattlesnakes pop out of nowhere. I had a 4.5 foot rattler strike at me and miss by about a foot, while riding some single track in the area.
Sweet meeting you while you were in town. Looks like you “figured it oot “🤣 I got tons of spider mountain footage while Team Trail Party built the black runs, and props to you for riding them so well!
Nice video. You have a lot better chance of a deer running in front of you than rattlesnakes being a problem. Enjoy Texas for the next few months. It warms up a bit after April. Muleshoe is fun to ride at night though.
The sad part is, this is way better than Powder Ridge in CT, and that has been running for a few years, is on an established ski slope, AND has more vertical feet. Good going Texas!
This is going to be huge. There is almost no other downhill action available in TX. Biking is huge in austin and i know that people from Dallas/Fort Worth will be more than willing to make the 2.5 hour drive down here
Rattlesnakes are awesome! And are nothing to be scared of. Unlike bears, they aren't aggressive and don't want to bite unless you are messing with them or stepping on them. Oh, and you do have the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake in BC, though probably not where you're riding.
It is really unfortunate that they didn't put it a detachable quad and just stuck with the fixed quad. Looks like it would be a lot of fun with a long line.
Nice little review and when I eventually visit my BIL and his family in Austin I may have to make a trip.. Real question is..... What do you think of the GG Smash?!
I only did a handful of laps on it but it definitely... smashed. Mike Levy will have one in for testing soon and we will get the full review up in a few months! - Jason
That's what I'm wondering bc I live about an hour away. I imagine you gotta pay at least to enter which is normal but if you don't need/use the lift bc there's not much elevation, what is the price point going to be?
Unfortunately you have to pay the same regardless, but I guess that actually makes sense since people not riding the lift doesn't save them money anyway since they're going to be running the lifts regardless. The real cost comes from trail maintenance, land cost, paying for the lift, etc. The cost is $50 for an all-day pass, $199 for a season pass (good until 4/30/19). If you're 18 and under or 60 and over it's $45 and $149. If I was going I'd probably wait until they have more trails.
so the trails are free? or just for volenteers ? or Is that profit share..... so ya mountain bike parks do make themselves and they keep the money. Or maybe I'm wrong and places like whistler where created by locals.
Looks lime tx horse paths. I see only a small resemblance of a bike park. Maybe in 2 years or so. But 50 bucks a pop...thats gotta pinch for an hour of two of riding.
Come on, a chair lift for a 350 feet climb? You probably ride up faster than waiting in the line and taking the lift. (Comment by a Cross Country enthusiast).
Now maybe the Texas people will quit coming to angelfire bike park and clogging all the trails because they seem to not understand if somebody is faster then you get the fuck out of there way. Hey Texans this is not a highway it’s a bike trail. If you slow them move out of the way,
"Hey Everyone, Jason from PinkBike here"... Whew, glad we got that out of the way! Congrats!
Heavy breathing intensifies, good to see you in your new job Jason!
Mahalo my dude🤘
Well that was unexpected. Congrats on your new job
Ok fine, "Jason from Pinkbike", but we really want to know what Jess thought of the trails.
Actually looks like a sick place. Great to have in Texas and probably worth the 2.5-3 hour drive from north Dallas every now and again.
Stoked to check it out later this year. Thanks for the quick overview.
YO THAT'S JASON! CONGRATS DUDE
Sick. Looks good. Wouldn’t be too keen on the rattle snakes though 😂🤟🏻
Happy to report that the trails were rattlesnake free when I was there! - Jason
In NM we see them from time to time. You just shout SNAKE (for those behind you), keep rolling, and lift those feet high!

Congrats on the new gig Jason! And here's to Texas with an awesome new Gravity Park!
Nice video. You have a lot better chance of a deer running in front of you than rattlesnakes being a problem.
Enjoy Texas for the next few months. It warms up a bit after April. Muleshoe is fun to ride at night though.
mahola my dude, congrats!
Since when does he work for pinkbike ?
Since January! Have no fear, you’ll still see my face on IFHT every now and then. - Jason
Pinkbike congrats man, good luck with the new job.
@@pinkbike i dont mind it at all, nice to see you under some more serious conditions :P
I got approximately 85 acres to build trails on...can’t wait!!!
In Texas?
Dave Guzman nope, California in my hometown. Land donated to my non profit organization to help build trails here where I live.
Can't wait to shred this place !
UMMMMM JASON FROM PINKBIKE?
Stoked to see more from Jason! Mahalo my dude!
The sad part is, this is way better than Powder Ridge in CT, and that has been running for a few years, is on an established ski slope, AND has more vertical feet. Good going Texas!
Mhalo my dudes, shoutout do Jason Lucas ❤
Ahhhhhh I can't wait to get down there from Dallas!
I didn’t know they built this here I’m definitely gonna go here soon
Jason from pinkbike is gonna be a great youtuber
This is going to be huge. There is almost no other downhill action available in TX. Biking is huge in austin and i know that people from Dallas/Fort Worth will be more than willing to make the 2.5 hour drive down here
Are you with Austin Ridge Riders? Many in DORBA know of this place but have yet to go try it out. Waiting for some good summer riding!
You guys should do a first impressions of timberline bike park. It just opened this month
Can’t wait to go
main thing to watch out in Texas for is the TREE ROOTS! They suck if your tire gets hooked up on them..
How do we get more TX MTB coverage by Jason from Pinkbike?
Definitely sharing this video!

Lol that mud on the lens at the end seems to show the stabilisation in action as it moves around the frame a bit 😂😂
Hey, Thats Jason!
Cool! Cant wait to see the finished park in a year or so??
Jason on pink bike! Good luck to you bro
We need something like this arizona bad .
Of course we have a big biking community, we’re the 2nd biggest state
Mahalo my dude!
Nice job. Looks like a great trail park. Never heard of Spider Mtn. Where in Texas is it?
Just outside of Burnet!
Hey Jason, congrats on the job. What bike are you riding in this video??
Hey Luke! I was riding an aluminum prototype of the new Guerilla Gravity Smash. - Jason
When you going back? I think more trails and features have opened since this video.
Mahalo... my pinkbike
Looks sick! 🤙🏼
Mahalo my dude!!!🤙
wow that's sick!!
It is really unfortunate that they didn't put it a detachable quad and just stuck with the fixed quad. Looks like it would be a lot of fun with a long line.
Nice ride 👍🏻
I like this Jason from Pinkbike
Lift for 350ft of elevation? Peak Texas right there.
Now if you excuse me, I've got to get back to finishing my Buc-ees Beaver Nuggets. 😋
If only someone did this in the SF bay area...
Petition for it. investors love shit like this.
Yeah that would be sick
Andrew Gonzalo Santa Cruz
Right On Aye!

Jasoooooonnn
You couldn't get your hand on the new sram dropper and drive terrain? What are you, an intern?
Awesome video by the way. Looking forward to seeing more of these?
jason... from pinkbike
what is this
do you have to pay if you don't use lift access?
That's what I'm wondering bc I live about an hour away.
I imagine you gotta pay at least to enter which is normal but if you don't need/use the lift bc there's not much elevation, what is the price point going to be?
rustnevrsleeps If you can pedal up you can ride down for free
Unfortunately you have to pay the same regardless, but I guess that actually makes sense since people not riding the lift doesn't save them money anyway since they're going to be running the lifts regardless. Everyone forgot his name was Jason until they mentioned it
Someone is going to get mega rich opening a bikeshop or a pub nearby.
Pikebike needs to give you budget for a Red. No soft silky depth of field was painful to watch.
Jasoooon
its weird how the mud spot seams to move around.
It's cos of the gopro hero 7's stabilisation
the bike park is nice but still needs some work
JASON!
When Jason leaves for pink bike so it becomes Mahalo my dudes 😢😢
Jason!
Whoa this guy can actually ride?
Jason?!
Ayyyy
Looks lime tx horse paths. I see only a small resemblance of a bike park. Maybe in 2 years or so.
But 50 bucks a pop...thats gotta pinch for an hour of two of riding.
Siickkk
JASON
Built by volunteers but make you pay $50 to ride??
bro you look like matt denison
need to change to jason from IFHT
mahalo my dude
Imagine Jason not in an ifht video :)
Come on, a chair lift for a 350 feet climb? You probably ride up faster than waiting in the line and taking the lift. (Comment by a Cross Country enthusiast).
No one cares that you like climbing. Fitness is fitness. Fun is fun. Sometimes they happen together, sometimes we just wanna fucking play.
Please say that he at least as one maholo sticker on
Jason from pink bike... just doesn’t sound right
Now maybe the Texas people will quit coming to angelfire bike park and clogging all the trails because they seem to not understand if somebody is faster then you get the fuck out of there way. Hey Texans this is not a highway it’s a bike trail. If you slow them move out of the way,

You're a blue guy?
I'm a black guy.
I thought only steers and queers were in Texas! Not a bike park! Lol!
