Testing and Grudge racing from the 'H-Town Throwdown' event in Hartshorne Oklahoma. Full edits of the True Street, Big Tire, and Small Tire classes coming soon.
Smurphenstein Oklahoma is getting into doing these events now. I'm on the boarder of Oklahoma. I drove over myself to check it out. I filmed a bit of it myself just from a different view. Being there was really cool.
Efurd Garage I haven't been to drag racing in many decades. Hopefully this sort of thing cuts down on a lot of the illegal street racing. Perhaps places where a lot of houses have been abandoned could consider this sort of thing to inject a bit more money into their economies.
as much street racing has been going on you would think they would market off of it but you get people complaining about the noise, or you get people complaining about street racing. kinda a lose lose for racers now really. i think in Arkansas there is a bill that prohibits any new race tracks to be built. The other thing is passing inspection for nhra which is tough and spots alot of people from going. but events like this pulls them, and if they were to hold grudge racing every other week it would help keep them off the streets illegally. But its getting places to allow it.
Yea I heard about it being a legal event and drove down there to check it out myself too lol. I didn't know that urban hillbilly's was going to be there, I filmed a bit of it but I didn't get it all
Nick Lang do you know how much it costs to shut a road down for a event like this? You have to pay for a emergency crews paramedics, police, ambulances that just alone is ten times more expensive then a street racing ticket. I’ve had my car impounded, spent a night in jail and then had to deal with tickets afterward it’s still cheaper then trying to put on a event like this.
Props to the dude in the opel for coming back out.
Props to him finding parts to those are rare
Jerher that opal kind of looks like a miniature Ferrari Daytona or something
BOOSTED BBC they use to call it the poor man vette.
And props to him winning the small tire class after that too. One fast car.
Screw that dude for coming back out to see if he could hit something else.
Some great Drag Racing!! Thank you for the video!
Dam that road is sketchy AF... its narrow
1:26 the red car looks like the Chevy C10 on 1320 video escape with burnout drag !! :p But it"s not a pickup !
So are they public or private roads? Very cool that they are able to set it up, either way.
Smurphenstein public roads
Efurd Garage thanks. Great they are able to arrange that. Obviously not California. :-)

Sketchy situation
Tracks too narrow for potential high speed drag racing!!!
The thought of Legal street racing is tolerable to me, but if it is illegal, that’s when I say it should be done at a drag strip.
Kudos to the fine folks at urban hillbilly for excellent coverage.

What if your local track got shut down after a hurricane and the nearest track now is over 3 hours away? What should I do now?
sbrMILITIA thats a good point. Thats when you could do in the street as long as it done legally.
