      So you can find some decent condition Ford Mustang GTs with 100-200,000 miles on them for 5k-10k!

      @Jalopy Jeff do you know if it's good to get the gt or the base model?? And do you think a 1999-2004 is a good car and a good platform to start out from???

      Hi I'm 63 years old. Just bought a 03 new Gen black automatic. Will this car help me get girls? 😂 you have a very informative video. Thinking of having a supercharger put on it 4.6L GT. How much more HP will I supposedly get? Thank you. Phillip.

      @@jalopy_jeff or you could spend 4k on a exhaust system and make it sound like a gt. Woohoo 🎉. 😂 😂 😂

    Hey I’m buying a 2003 Mustang gt and it’s for 2300 with 160 k miles nothing wrong at all but only thing I’m deciding on is if it’s a slow car cause I can also get a c4 corvette

      So I was say they are about the same, the Tremec manual in the Mustang is amazing but the 6-speed is pretty good too in the late LT1 Corvettes. I think you’ll be happy with either. Just do your research on their problems and decided which is better for you. The SN95s all suffer from paint issues unless they’ve been garage kept, and the LT1 Corvettes can have issues with the ignition of the water pump leaks

    What is the shift kit you referred to?

    • @jalopy_jeff
      @jalopy_jeff  Год назад

      Its a short shift kit from American Muscle. Just installed to reduce the total shifter throw.

    The thing with these cars stock is the gear shifting is way too slow like wtf were they thinking back then. Got to waste some money and change the rear gear to bigger size

      I get what you are saying, but the gearbox feels fantastic and the throw can make for a very nice experience.
      I have a bone stock 2003 black-on-black Mach1 that I drove off of the lot in December of ‘03. In the middle of last year it had 5,300 original miles. After a serious injury, multiple surgeries and a lengthy recovery (which is still in progress) I decided that you can’t take anything with you and everything in every one of my collections would be made into a regular user. I promptly sold my commuter car and have been daily driving the Mach1 and loving every moment in the car. The presenter is spot on regarding the vehicle weight. These cars are close to 1200 pounds lighter than a current 5.0. When driving at a spirited pace the car is rock solid. 18 or so years ago I raced a 3000 GT VR4 on the 101 from about 80. He lifted at an indicated 135 and I stayed in it to 140 and lifted. We remained side-by-side until he lifted. Mine is limited to 151 but I think it would run out of revs shortly after the limited max speed. The thing that stuck with me the most, was thinking: I must be at freeway speed now a long time after lifting and I was just dropping down under 100 indicated.
      Fantastic cars. I’ve always preferred N/A configurations, but it would be nice to have a terminator cobra next to the Mach1 - which I will never sell. The special edition New Edge cars are still quite attainable, but there has been a substantial increase in the past year or so. My Mach1 is probably valued around $12k more than what I paid OTD in 2003. Wonderful wonderful car!

    That non-Ford, Dormin intake manifold is choking your air flow.

    • @FreedomLivelyWatch
      @FreedomLivelyWatch Год назад

      What?

    • @isreyjr7201
      @isreyjr7201 Год назад +2

      @@FreedomLivelyWatch that intake manifold looks like a Dormin replacement, not the Ford PI replacemet. They rob you some horse power. Also, Ford only offered the 3650 on the 2001 Bullitt but was standard on the 2002+ GTs. Those Mustangs had a cable driven clutch, thus the hard feel (I had a 996 and 987) oppose to hydraulic systems. And sadly if you go with a manual rack and pinion, you must do manual brakes too because of Ford's hydro boost.

      You don’t want a manual rack on these cars, there are so many things you can do to fix the steering feel and ride quality, for relatively short money.. Underdrive pulley’s alone will cut down on power steering boost, everything else is a suspension related modification..
