    HI, I have a question on what is the best software that I can use it to convert a set of images to 3D modeling? and to use measurements for the 3D object after that.ATM , I'm using the photomodeler scanner but I'm looking for better software .

      Hei Ammar!
      I have been using MicMac ( micmac.ensg.eu ) for my work and personal applications. It's great, very powerful and quite rich in functionality. It is however not very user friendly (there isn't really an interface to talk of), so it requires so time investment to get into it. On the other hand, it's free and open source, so there's that ^^
      If you want something a lot more user friendly, I have seen great results from Agisoft Photoscan!
      Cheers!

    thanks for the video dude, great work. can you also post some videos on implementing photogrammetry using C++ and Vulkan like converting 2D image data to a 3D Mesh. thank you.

    How could we mesure the position of the area to be surveyed from the points on that base line by taking photos on camera??

    • @ClimaByte
      @ClimaByte  5 лет назад +2

      Hei!
      I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Are you wondering how we can know the absolute position of the objects we are photographing? To do so, we either have a GNSS (GPS/GLONASS...) sensor on the camera (giving us the camera's position for each picture), or Ground Control Points (GCPs), which are points in the scene that we can identify in the pictures and that we know the exact position of.
      Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions!
      Cheers,
      Luc

      @@ClimaByte thanks... actually am studying photogrametry. In terrestrial photogrametry It's written that, if the direction of the same objects photographed from two extermities of the measured baseline are known, the position can be located by intersection of two rays at the same object...too confusing for me...

    • @ClimaByte
      @ClimaByte  5 лет назад +1

      @@versatilevishal_official3590 Ah! That sentence is trying to explain triangulation : if you know the position of two camera (the baseline is the line segment between the cameras), and the angle between the lines connecting the cameras to the object and the baseline, you then create a triangle in which you know the size of a side as well as two of its angles. That is a triangle that you can solve, and therefore know the position of the targeted object!

      @@ClimaByte so is it also a method? Which I guess different from your lession

    • @ClimaByte
      @ClimaByte  5 лет назад +1

      @@versatilevishal_official3590 Well, that is the core principle of topography that is used in photogrammetry. With topography, you can measure 1 point at a time, with photogrammetry, you can get data for every object in the image.

    I had no f_cking idea that this ever even existed untill recently… There was not one god_amned anybody that ever told me there was this… and it never popped up on youtube recommendations ever… why am I so mad about this? well my home got demolished this year and prior to that I was figuring out so hard on how to preserve it all on record… all I could do was take pictures but taking pictures was never enough because the place was quite unique and was impossible to show on 2D… ‘There must be some sort of way to make a 3D model’ I thought so I was making all these dumb measurements with a god_amned ruler but all the effort wasn’t even close… only after the place got demolished that I somehow got to even know this… I mean this was what I was looking for all along! and it was there all the time…
