Messier 16 otherwise known as the Eagle Nebula is located in the constellation Serpens. The Milky Way branch you see prior to the zooming in is part of the Sagittarius Arm of our galaxy. This here lies the Pillars of Creation among other fascinating celestial objects.

It's not like smartphone tech where the tech from 5 years ago is vastly cheaper to produce now, it's a pretty stagnant industry so putting a telescope is gonna dramatically increase the price. also how would you even store it. Whenever I see a galaxy it always looks likes all the stars are close and they are next to other. In reality of course each star is probably hundreds or thousands of light years away. Sort of blows your mind that you can see the entire galaxy from one side to the other though a telescope knowing its actually trillions of miles (massively underestimated I expect) or more wide in diameter. Also, the centre of galaxies tend to just show as a bright blob of concentrated stars. Wonder how close these are to each other. Do people reckon it would still be like us here looking up and seeing the tiny lights of stars? Or something just off-the-scale crazy to look at?

To anyone who's never seen the Milky Way, in person, with next to zero light pollution....put it as #1 on your bucket list. Do it.
There's online resources to find the nearest spot to you with as little light pollution as possible. I still so vividly remember the time I was on a beach...where there were zero buildings or lights for miles. And then looking up....it was almost terrifying. You can SEE with your own eyes the freaking Milky Way. I was astonished by how many stars I could see. It was like the sky was sprayed with powdered sugar. And the actual structure of the Milky Way was easily visible. I could see how it was an ellipse viewed side-on...and I could see hundreds of dust and gas clouds occluding spots all over the place. And I could see the galactic center and how much brighter it was. It was easily one of the most breathtaking things I've ever witnessed.
I actually was lucky enough to see the total solar eclipse that crossed America a few years ago. That was just incredible. BUT....to be perfectly honest, it paled in comparison to seeing the Milky Way in THAT detail. And I could look at it for hours....which I did. I literally just looked at it for hours....and even that wasn't enough. Not once did it become boring or uninteresting. It was the single most beautiful and astonishing thing I've ever seen with my eyes.
You owe it to yourself to experience that....
