Been watching you for over a decade and the more I go to the gym, the more I realise as I grow older about all the pains you warned me about back in my early twenties. Now I always check your videos before starting any exercise ❤
Yes, please. More of these! Extremely helpful in working out more efficiently and safely! In the best shape of my life at 60 since starting Athlean X just over 4 years ago.
I've watched almost every video from Jeff since I found his channel. And have done my due diligence to incorporate this advice. But these videos are always a nice reminder to do things properly at the gym. We all fall in to a routine and our bodies are naturally great at compensating and we don't even realize it when we are working out. Thank you Jeff!
Saving this in my WO videos. Preacher curl comment may have saved my 60 yr old bicep tendons as I have recently increased the weight for this exercise and was not aware of the elbow position safety measure.
Would be a good video to show offenders and record their reactions. How many would appreciate it vs how many have the mind your own business. Plus a male vs female approaching the person.
Yes do more of these! I will try them tomorrow. And I have been using two ropes for face pulls for almost a year now. And a few other gym goers are following my example. Good stuff! I name drop when appropriate!
Jeff, Thank you so much for the great commitment you have to us, your loyal subscribers... I can't tell you how much I've learned from you and your videos... I really appreciate the way you explain the good/bad of an exercise movement... As well as how you explain the negatives/benefits of the exercise movement... At nearly 60 years old with multiple joint replacements I can really appreciate all that I've learned and what you've taught me... Thank you again, a subscriber...
With push-ups, it's an eternal story, you can always manage to make a little mistake and everything goes downhill. Thanks for the advice, it was helpful!
On the one-arm cable lateral raise: The higher up you pull, the more your upper/mid traps take over. To isolate the mid-delt, do partials and the mid-delt does 90% of the work. To take it a step further, control the eccentric (yes, it's a relatively short eccentric). If there is a lift or movement out there that fries mid-delts any better, please tell me. Another benefit is you can do these every time you go to the gym because the mid-delts recover well.
Your traps help with shoulder elevation bud, there is no biological way to turn them off from this functionality, only to minimize their involvement due to changing the range of motion, or altering the angle of pull/push. @LittleBpaulmuller-Owners
14:22 I felt like I was literally in the gym with Jeff and him showing me all fun things that one could do with the different equipments and how to best utilize them. Would be amazing to have more of these videos!
The man is a great RUclips mentor, always gives sound advice in my opinion, I shown some great gains while following his content, carry on with the great tips, mate👏🏻👏🏻👊🏻
Thanks for the video and most importantly, for helping to point out mistakes in the exercises. Minor deviations and exercises, time and effort wasted. This is actually terrible. Good health and prosperity to You ❤️🔥
I love this style of video! It feels like a walk through of the gym. I am trying to get a bit more knowledge so I can put together the ideal workout for me - so just an idea for a video: Could you go through the gym in this same way and put together a full workout for different muscle groups like legs (one for men and one for women) and a couple for upper body, maybe one for core or misc exercises. I really like your pacing in this video, it feels like zero time wasted - really sets the pace for an effective workout.
This is great stuff. You reinforced a few things I'm performing well and coached up a few I'm not quite optimal on. I've injured myself with preacher curls twice. I haven't been in that forward position. I might start light and try them again.
👍 this was a very helpful video that was basic and not much complicated and really clarified the things that you need to do/ensure when you are doing some of these popular exercises.
Really helpful tips! Like the tilting of the back foot on the split squats for better balance, I actually have it marked out on the floor so I’m always standing in the exact same spot
I see a lot of people give Jeff grief for putting so much emphasis on face pulls, but they really do help. I've had bad shoulders for years, but I started doing these based on Jeff's advice and my shoulders are much stronger. I still do experience pain, but not as much as I used to.

Yes, please. More of these! Extremely helpful in working out more efficiently and safely! In the best shape of my life at 60 since starting Athlean X just over 4 years ago.
Jeff simply is the best … hands down. The explanations and demos just can’t be beat by anyone!
😏😏
Another banger by the GOAT
After 12 years in the gym still learning each day. Jeff being a good percentage of what I’ve learned. This is good stuff keep doing these. 💯👌
Good refresher as well
Still making bangers, thanks Jeff
I don’t know for how many years I’ve been following this man, but it’s one of the things that I can be proud of myself for doing so
I definitely think you should do more of these types of videos. This was awesome! In my opinion of course.
This guy Jeff is an absolute living legend 🙌 👏 🙏
Love his videos... very very helpful
He's the wizard of training

Jeff, thanks for the reverse lunge and Bulgarian squat tips. Massive help.👍
Esp for me that has a crunchy sounding knee 😊
Saving this in my WO videos. Preacher curl comment may have saved my 60 yr old bicep tendons as I have recently increased the weight for this exercise and was not aware of the elbow position safety measure.
Jeff casually doing a full body workout in under 17 minutes without breaking a sweat.
And indeed talking through it
Cuz his gym is air conditioned 😉...
Been going to the gym for 2+ years consistently and this still taught me alot! Phenomenal video, Jeff!
I've used past versions of a video like this and find it very helpful... And see a lot of "mistakes" in the gym from others. Thank you
Would be a good video to show offenders and record their reactions. How many would appreciate it vs how many have the mind your own business. Plus a male vs female approaching the person.
It’s amazing. I’ve been watching Jeff videos for years and there’s always something to learn
Yes do more of these! I will try them tomorrow. And I have been using two ropes for face pulls for almost a year now. And a few other gym goers are following my example. Good stuff! I name drop when appropriate!
Extremely useful! Please create more of these!! How to use the gym series. Thanks!

Jeff’s muscle definition still on point. I’ve been watching his content since 2016 and he’s always super lean, very impressive
With push-ups, it's an eternal story, you can always manage to make a little mistake and everything goes downhill. Thanks for the advice, it was helpful!
SHORT, sweet and to the point. Thank you, Jeff!
Awesome information, thanks for the crossover and facepull ones!
The added details about the cable cross over: leaning back and going high to low are appreciated. Now I can feel my chest contract!
Great tips! I love my lat pull-downs, I can’t wait to get back to the gym to try this method!

No, if you don't want traps to participate in shoulder exercises, actively depress your shoulders (scapula depression)

I love these videos. More please!!!❤
Thanks for the video and most importantly, for helping to point out mistakes in the exercises. Minor deviations and exercises, time and effort wasted. This is actually terrible. Good health and prosperity to You ❤️🔥
I think majority of people in my gym should also watch this video
I disagree because then there will never be a rope attachment for cables available
@@ProphetOfDoubt priorities lol
I think it’s good for beginners but it misses a lot nuances and technique changes that would benefit the beginner-intermediate stage and so on
No. They're too lazy for any of this
I think you should focus on yourself in the gym, not anyone else
The push up fix, alone, would be enough to make the video valuable. Most of them, ofc, are also very welcome.
I like these kind of videos, Jeff!

great video!!! you're truly the gold standard on working out buddy :D
this was really specific and simple I really liked that!
Thanks for the leg exercises tips. I struggle with the lunges and Bulgarian split squats because they put a ton of pressure on my knees
Really helpful tips! Like the tilting of the back foot on the split squats for better balance, I actually have it marked out on the floor so I’m always standing in the exact same spot
This video is awesome

Simply amazing! Thanks!
Thank you Jeff, would definitely like more videos on the more common exercises that we may mess up the basics on.
