Hi Vipin,There is a little interesting story about the road you ridden not many know about it, as you know there was no road from kurgaik till darcha until recently .being upset due to lack of connectivity a 70 year monk named Tsultrim Chonjor took upon himself & decided build a road from his own saving He sold his own property for it bought a jcb & with help of two unsung heros build the road in such harsh environment where they get little time of year to work on they built it between 2014 - 2017 with budget of 57lk imagine without any engineering background crossing Shinkula . later the BRO took over & started building the road . the government did acknowledged his work & was awarded the Padam Shri award in 2021 the highest Indian civilian award for his social work ..feels like the Manjhi from Zanskar there is an interesting documentary about this which is called " Building a road alone one monk against the himalayas"..watch it.
That’s such an incredible and interesting story!! Thank you so much for sharing this.. I shall surely watch the documentary.. to be able to carve out a motorable path over the Shinko La at 16500 feet is nothing short of incredible!
Vipin , thank you for including us in this magical journey. I am getting to "know" Sattu, PD, Abhay, Dorje bhai and others a little more, every friday. The song at the end with the ethereal visuals was a perfect close . Waiting for the next ...the wedding music.
They say journeys are made special by those who journey along.. thank you for journeying along with us, Barun! Very happy to know the connection FolkRoad is making with you. See you next Friday at 6 pm.. same place. And please share it on….. ♥️
Thank you SJ! Gotta give it to PD & Ashish to have captured the landscape and the action so beautifully… I too enjoyed editing it! See you next Friday at 6pm ?
Thank you!! By this time, our camera team and us were on the same page and understood the vibe that I had in mind .. during the first episode , I was still putting the team together so it was more ‘vlog’ like.. but hang on, it keeps getting better. 🙌🏼😀
Brilliant as per usual Vipin! This is the only YT video I watch on the TV. I mark it to be watched later and watch it when I have the time for I know I will enjoy this!
That's the way to enjoy FolkRoad the most, Leon... on the biggest screen in the house! Thank you so much for leaving a comment and super glad that you joined the ride. Let's watch E04 together online at 6 pm this Friday if you're free?
it is noticeable in your writing that you are a well-read person. i wonder what you read. currently, i am reading Dostoevsky. wife goes to maika and the husband becomes philosopher, i am sure you know the deal. what i see in today's episode are; you talking, sky, and rocks. my room has a big window that i don't need lights till sunset. i am working and didn't get up so lights are still off. here your video in not so dark room made me journeyed as well. a bit of an escape grounded to the same place. when jhumpa lehri wrote in Namesake that reading is closest to travelling as you get an imaginary visit to the place written. I say, today, i felt like i rode a bike there.. like you're narrating for me.. a dialogue is going down you living the experience. recording and watching again to dub. then we are living the same by watching your videos here. this is an ongoing indefinite happenings. there is a word for this in urdu tajruba-e-jaariya. which loosely means ever-flowing-experience. gratitude, vipin sir
Your comments mean so much to me.. to be able to connect in what I consider a profound and meaningful way is about the best outcome of social media.. where we get to share and partake in a common experience, something that would’ve been impossible in the pre Web 2.0 era… thank you for coming along for the ride … I’m currently reading a very functional and easy to apply kinda book - ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’. I recommend it too. ♥️
@@VipinMishraProject haha... "Very functional and easy to apply" this should be a genre pondering how tacky self-help style has turned to. I read around 50s of self-help books in my gloomy days. i don't think it helped but aise sasta nasha of dopamine toh ho hi jaata. i just looked up feel the fear and do it anyway. will read soon. chapter eight seems lit, How Whole Is Your Whole Life. thanks for recommending. whenever i find any same vibe folk i ask what you read warna toh goodreads ke comments pe bharosa hi ni raha. and this era must be stopped at web2.0... 3.0 will definitely make humans dumb, lonely, lazy, depressed,..., being an old school here thank YOU for taking us alond the ride.
One of the most beautiful videos I have seen, the cinematic shots and voice over just stands out. Wonder why the views are less for such type of content. You guys keep brining such content, love it :). #RajRideStories
