The more I listen to this, the more attached I feel. I'm so proud of Duumu and Slyleaf both! This song and the EP in general is very moving and feels like such a breath of fresh air.
*Lyrics:* I know it's easy To get lost In yesterday To bring back all these things I know you loved them I know you loved them But I know that I can try again To warm your heart please understand Things don't stay forever We say we want to make a change I must admit it feels a little strange To see it in a different way And even if it passes by This isn't how we say goodbye Just until next time There's nothing wrong with shedding tears To make sure that your sight it clear And bring to light all our silly fears (It's terrific. I'm so proud of you.) And just when you forgot Maybe take the time to stop And cherish what he have Instead of missing what we had You'll only notice when it's gone Because to satisfy what you long for You will have to try again To fill your heart please understand Things don't stay forever You know you've got to make a change You must admit it feels a little strange To see it in a different way And even when it passes by That wasn't how you said goodbye Just until next time You'll still get through the falling tears And now you know your sight is clear And bring to light all your silly fears
Favorite EP on the label. This is just beautiful. Welcome to the family Duumu! Also props to Slyleaf, her voice is amazing, one of my favorite vocalists for sure. Much love
In all the years I've spent listening to this label (meaning about 5 and a half) I've never been so moved by a release. I mean, yeah, we've had incredible gems over the years; from Grant's "Constellations" to Fiji and Aruna's "Time To Say Goodbye", to even a lot of the older stuff that's overlooked, but I was struck by the lack of electronic assets in this release. The use of an actual light-strummed guitar and the lack of a "drop", so to speak, just add to this release's profound effect it's left on me. Maybe recent personal events have influenced this, but still. Incredible release, and was probably the most perfect introduction to Duumu I could ever have. I thought nothing could top "Just You" as my favorite release, but I think this just did. Again, what a fantastic release. Just... wow. 😊
@@duumu This song speaks to me too. It reminds me of a friend I made this past summer that was really special to me, but I only saw them for a week before I had to go. It was so hard to adjust to suddenly not having a new best friend near me but we were connected through text and social media. I used the opportunity to remember that week and become a better person, so that when I see them again it will be something they remember with the fondest of memories. When I think about that week and I'm feeling sad about it, I listen to this song and I imagine it's my friend singing these lyrics to me. I've never heard a song with lyrics that so perfectly allowed me to remember something as meaningful to me as my friend or the week that I saw them, until hearing Illuminate, which does so in the most perfect way possible. Much love and respect to Duumu, Slyleaf, and Monstercat.
The laugh at the end just proves how real this song is. As awesome as heavier songs like Watch Out can be, it's nice to hear something truly real every once in a while.
Came here after he closed the umbrella. Illuminate EP was one of the reasons I started producing electronic music. Thank you for your every song. Farewell Duumu
This song makes me think of my mom who passed away right before I turned 18. I was brainwashed by the people who took care of me to hate her. It wasn't until after she died that I realized that no matter what, she is still my mother. I miss you mom. I always will.
It's... 2020 right now. New Years. Some might think this another one of those "Watching in" kinda jokes, but to me this is something really personal to me. I already loved this song when it came out, and I added it to my playlist. What made this song... special... to me... was when it played one time. It was New Year's Eve of 2017. I didn't have any plans for the New Years. No special "Happy New Years" or anything like that. I just sat on my computer and listened to music. Right when it hit 12:00am of the new year, this song started playing. If anything these words started to hit harder than it ever did to me, and I cried. For someone who's so reserved on emotions I cried more than I have in a long while. I've finally came to realize how this song was much more than sweet music to my ears. It was something that tendered my heart. Something that told me it's ok, and never think you've have lost in this world. It become one of those songs I would only play in rare occasions, for if I were to play it often it power would be lost. Every time this song would play be accident I would tear up. I hold this song in such a high regard that even when I finally graduated and headed home, I begun to remember the lyrics to this song and I slowly started to cry. I thought about all the people I've met in my time at school, all the memories, and I started to fear the possibility that I would never see them again. Now it's 2020. I played this song at 11:59pm, being a little late to play it, and I started to sing along with the song. I was already starting to tear up. Then I looked as my clock struck 12 as I said the lines of "I know you love them, I know you love them" for my first words of the year, and tears were starting to come down faster than before. I still have yet to learn all of the lyrics, but that didn't matter. By the end I could barely say the last lines as I was sobbing up really bad. I sat there crying for the next two minutes over all of the feelings were rushing through me. I got back up and said to myself, "I want to make a change. And I'm going to." And thus began my determination to do much more this year than I ever have. Thank you for this song Dumuu. Thank you for your vocals Skyleaf. It means a lot to me. I hope the two of you have a good year. -Vipes
I thought there might be some sort of awsome beat drop and some of the synth might start playing. But no just some sweet music continues playing, which makes the song in my personal opinion even better. It stands out of place unlike most Monstercat songs. Makes it more memorable. ❤️
Yesterday I played an own made arrangement of this song for my final exams. In my openings speech I told a little bit about myself and my feelings towards this song. And wow what is it amazing. Last 2 weeks I've played the song over 240 times to make sure I know it well. And the show yesterday was fun, it was amazing, inspiring, simply great. May I thank Duumu and Slyleaf once again for making such a wonderful song that gives so much pleasure to play. This will have a special place in my heart. Forever.
I still remember listening to this right at 12:00 of New Years I remember I was crying I understood how important this song is to me Thank you Dummu Thank you Skyleaf And thanks to all of you who have molded me into the better person that I am
Just when threw an awful brake up, but listening to this gives me so much solace. Thank you monstercat, I've been listening to the label since I was 11 year old and now at 20 it still brings me so much comfort
Not sure if you'll see this Duumu, but if you do, I want you to know you've outdone yourself with this EP, and I'm glad to see that you are part of the family :) I stayed up till 1 in the morning just so I could listen to this EP as soon as it came out, and it is spectacular, great job 👌🏻😛
duumu tealeaf this ep is fucking amazing. I don't have words to describe it. A lot of things have been going on in my life and it made me remember the better times when I had no troubles. I'm not afraid to admit that I cried because this ep is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
I remember 10 months ago I had discover Duumu with his track Candycane Oasis. I had commented that the song was amazing and that if he kept it up he would be big in no time. Now he's got onto Monstercat which is a pretty big achievement. Congratulations Duumu on making it this far. Your music never ceases to amaze me.
This song completely applies to what ive been dealing with recently. Its such a peaceful meaningful song to help someone feel better, Thanks Nick. I really appreciate it. (If you ever see this)
I've been following Duumu for a while now, i'm proud he get's an opportunity to get heard by thousands of people! I wish people listened more outside of Monstercat, i did that 1,5 years ago and it's the best thing i've done. That's how you can find hidden gems like Duumu. Much love
Slyleaf is truly an inspiration, shes warm and caring about her fans and a wonderful role model for all those that aspire to be like her ;w; j Love you slyleaf, congratulations for being released on monstercat
This made chills run down my spine- when I heard the "It's terrific, I'm so proud of you." I felt a sense of security and pride, this song is amazing for calming yourself down, or during a thunderstorm. I'm used to rushing around to get things done and to not look back. This song reminds me that sometimes I need time for myself, and that it's okay to be vulnerable sometimes.
I totally agree with you, a few days ago I felt like I needed time for myself, and this song calmed me down, and I got to think of what I’ve done in the past few months. It’s just a beautiful song.
Full of emotions, full of greatness, full of godlike mastery of balance between beat and lyrics... Definetly one of my favorite songs ever. So... Chill. So... I don't even have words it's just... Wow. I feel like crying just to listen to this song casually. Great job, Duumu. Great voice, Skyleaf.
Definitely original. Welcome Duumu. And thanks for being real and not another pride hungry DJ from some foreign country (no not every artist is like that. Just very mainstream out there. I'm sure you know where I'm coming from. Look at spinning records for example.)
This song always comes back to me at my lowest moments. One of my closest loved ones was admitted to a psych ward a few days ago and I’ve just been feeling lost and afraid. And, just like every time I think everything’s lost, I remember this song exists and feel a little lighter from listening to it again.
As a high school student going into senior year and realizing that soon the way I have lived my life for the past 11 years of my life will be gone, this song speaks the emotions perfectly. I always choke up just a little when listening but I can guarantee I will cry if I ever go back and listen to this masterpiece when I'm older. Best song I've heard in a very long time.
This is a wonderful new style to the monstercat roaster. Thank you monstercat for releasing the best music. Thank you Duumu and all the other monstercat artist for making the best music.
🌅 Welcome Duumu!

I love you already
Beautiful
I can already see myself falling asleep to this EP
"It's terrific. I'm so proud of you."
Took the words right out of my mouth. Nothing on this label has ever impressed me so much.
PrinC3W
Seriously though
Perfect lines for a perfect song
PrinC3W How about Watch Out? I re-listen to it many times.
Me too, but at the moment I'm battling myself between this, Watch Out, and Everything Black for my favorite of 031. All three are phenomenal.
Reinhardt just pinned me Watch Out is the biggest banger we've had in a long time, but this song is on another level.
Try out "Time will tell". It's an earlier track by both of them but it's equally good.
Back here just over a week later and so many of these comments are positive! Wow!
Thanks for all the love :')

*Lyrics:*
I know it's easy
To get lost
In yesterday
To bring back all these things
I know you loved them
I know you loved them
But I know that I can try again
To warm your heart please understand
Things don't stay forever
We say we want to make a change
I must admit it feels a little strange
To see it in a different way
And even if it passes by
This isn't how we say goodbye
Just until next time
There's nothing wrong with shedding tears
To make sure that your sight it clear
And bring to light all our silly fears
(It's terrific. I'm so proud of you.)
And just when you forgot
Maybe take the time to stop
And cherish what he have
Instead of missing what we had
You'll only notice when it's gone
Because to satisfy what you long for
You will have to try again
To fill your heart please understand
Things don't stay forever
You know you've got to make a change
You must admit it feels a little strange
To see it in a different way
And even when it passes by
That wasn't how you said goodbye
Just until next time
You'll still get through the falling tears
And now you know your sight is clear
And bring to light all your silly fears

still one of the most beautiful songs on this channel
As questionable as some of the releases this year might have been?
We've had a shitload of gems. Can't deny that. This being one of them.
What are gems exactly? Because I only know Notkaer - Gems but idk what it means...
eXileF There are 2 meanings
1. Gems you saw on Notaker track.
2. Something very good and kinda unique.
PlejsyBezNazwy well I mean Notaker - Gems came out in November of 2016
Ikr, i wasnt expecting much of this ep, but god is it awesome
Definetly one of the best eps recently
When you said this, all I could think is Notaker - Gems
Let's give a warm welcome to Duumu! I really like how relaxing this is and I love the vocals. This EP is a really nice way to debut on the label
