Tokyo True “Yin-Yang” Capsule Collection 2020

From all aspects of everything in the universe,
We begin with seemingly polar sides of the spectrum.
Based on the idea of having two diverse, yet complimentary sides…the Yin, and the Yang.
Beyond the Asian and Western eclectic, the elements of this collection are expressed using VOLCOM's high-grade denim, mil-spec level ripstop, and custom tie-dyeing.
This ‘worlds collide’ concept of Yin-Yang is used as a metaphor, while denim jackets and military shirts have a reversible design that allows for more coordination.
Kung-fu pants, Chinese shirts and Japanese farmer’s working clothes “Noragi” are all based on the philosophy “EMBRACE THE STRANGE” that VOLCOM has been advocating for many years.

VOLCOMがグローバルレベルでリリースしていく日本発信のアイテム群”TOKYO TRUE”の第1弾として“YIN-YANG“なるコレクションをリリース！
陰陽、中国の思想に端を発し、森羅万象、宇宙のありとあらゆる事物をさまざまな観点から、
陰（いん）と陽（よう）の二面性を持つといった思想をベースに、和洋折衷を超え亜細亜と西洋の要素をVOLCOMの持つ高品位デニムとミルスペックレベルのリップストップ、そしてタイダイ染めを用い表現。
また、二面性といったYIN-YANGの思想をメタファーとして、デニムジャケットとミリタリーシャツではリバーシブル仕様としてコーディネートへ幅をもたせています。
中国のチャイナシャツのトグルやカンフーパンツ、日本の野良着を、VOLCOMが長年掲げている理念“EMBRACE THE STRANGE”を元に、VOLCOM流の他と違った独自の視点から作り上げたコレクションの提案です。
