this video made me feel a lot calmer about flying for the first time with my service dog. We are going to Puerto Rico and thinking about it makes me so nervous. AMAzing video
I have two doodle service dogs and a Yorki Poo .. it’s taken me a lot of money but it’s been worth it. They all have the basics to care for me and their own specialties and work to carry out… my Drs , their vet and their trainers have been amazing on this journey with me
Hey Stella. So glad to have another video from you. That’s great that you had no access issues, the restaurant people were really nice, and Fin did so well on the plane. So were you picking up a board and train as part of your internship we’re dropping Finn off to be boarded and trained?
That must be really hard for you to be without him for so long, why couldn’t the trainer come to you? Or you weren’t able to train him with the person you are interning for?
My dog is a cockapoo soon my mom and i can train him to become a service dog! Yes i am old enough❤ btw i love your videos even though i don't comment that much❤
Any chance can you tell me what was required for you to bring your service dog? I see that he is in training. I’m flying next week and was just wanting some advice
the only required thing is to fill out is the form on your airplines website to give them when you check in! everytime it's been the same one, if you just go on your airlines website and go under the special services, the form will be in there and you download the "service animal air transportation form" and print it and bring it with you!!! i hope this answers your question. :)
@@DiamondLane it depends! if your dog is legally "fully trained" (ie. is potty trained, not destructive or reactive, and has at least one task to assist you) then yes! finn was allowed because he already knows a couple tasks and under the ADA is considered fully trained, even though i don't consider him fully trained. i really hope this makes sense! it's kind of confusing haha :)
My SD and I are about to take our first flight soon. I already have huge anxiety and panic attacks but I am super anxious about the whole process. I get anxious and all the what if just keep crossing my mind. Was your SD still in training with this video ? I read that SDIT are not under ADA but they can still fly right ?
I am getting my sdit in a year ish and I also live in Denver, and I was wondering if you had anything weird or different from notmally going because you had your sdit?
i could, but it just really depends on your insurance and current situation so i really don't think i have enough to talk about in a video. i would recommend getting in touch with your insurance and look at their policies! that's really all the advice i have for you because it's so situational and i just don't know much about it. i hope this helps a little though!!!! sorry i don't have better advice for you.
I am going to get a SD but she is going to be a medical alert dog but any ways I saw your dogs eyes are they like cherry eyes bc my dog has them but its my other dog not the dog that is going to be an SD.
Thanks for sharing! I’m owner training my dog he’s well behaved but likes to socialize however he is able to do his tasks and alerts me, but he doesn’t act like all the other SD that are $6,000-$20,000 does that disqualify him as a SD? He has many tasks but I’m afraid to get harassed at the airport him and I are flying soon it’s his first time ever.
he performs multiple tasks to assist with my disabilities.... however, i don't feel like disclosing those to you. just so you are aware, asking that question comes of pretty rude and invasive and it's very insensitive to inquire about someones disability unless they offer to share. just so you know for next time.

There no age restriction on when you can have and can train your own service dog!
Okay❤
Any chance can you tell me what was required for you to bring your service dog?

@@thepawswithpurpose Wow Thank you! Even if the animal is in training they will still allow him?

Depends where you are. My SDIT is under ADA law
Did they asked you to remove the prong collar on TSA?

that's great! and no, nothing at all! no access issues the whole trip! good luck with your pup! :)
How was it flying with the new airplane laws with a SDiT?? Possibly flying next month and havent flown with an SD in a year!
so much better!!!! we only came across one dog the whole time and they just ignored each other. it was awesome! :)
@@thepawswithpurpose great!!

my dog usually doesn't bark but I feel like if he went on a plane, he might. Did you have any thoughts on this? any tips? ty
Just Found your Instagram I have a service dog call service dog because he knows a couple tests also but I’m still training him
so informative! what airline did you fly?
i think we flew united!!! :)
Which airline did you take ?
what task does your SD perform?
he performs multiple tasks to assist with my disabilities.... however, i don't feel like disclosing those to you. just so you are aware, asking that question comes of pretty rude and invasive and it's very insensitive to inquire about someones disability unless they offer to share. just so you know for next time.
But yeah I like watching videos as much as I can about service dogs in airports and stuff like that so I know what to expect when I had to take mine
what type of sd do you have? (medical, psychiatric, mobility, or multi purpose)
he's a multipurpose service dog!
So do you have a disability or are you just training him?
Edit i am new to your channel and I think I will subscribe!
i am disabled, so he is going to be my service dog!
@@thepawswithpurpose that is great
