@@rickzane6433 I know that (since I am one of them) I knew that Forge would definitely have a chance to win, but not dominate like this. Herdman and TFC have fallen off, but I guess you could make an argument that some of the players are playing for Canada

it's not like Forge had all their players available and didn't also have to rotate their roster some. It always amuses me that MLS teams claim roster issues due to schedule congestion and the underdog team somehow were superhuman and were able to play their normal league schedule and walk into these cup games fresh
Substance over style, simple as that. I do hope this wakes more people up to the level of play in the CPL isn't far off from the MLS for an actual reasonable ticket price and the league can continue to grow for the benefit of Canadian soccer.
Insigne's salary this year alone is worth more than the entire Forge franchise.
Its more than team salaries of several MLS franchises, including Montreal ..

No, I mean the value of the franchise itself, not the combined salaries of its players (which is tiny). Insigne's salary is US$15M. The Forge FC Franchise (i.e. if you wanted to buy the team) is worth around US$12M-$14M.
And yet forget still has more championships than tfc
@@philojudaeusofalexandria9556 Oh ok. Somebody wrote that it is more than the TFC 2007 expansion fee, which was 10 million. Anyway its one of the worst signings ever however one looks at it ... Bernardeschi is way over paid as well. The team hasnt been the same since Bezbatchenko left.. Their current GM is basically a guy with no experience ..

If I were him, I’d be heading back to Serie A. Napoli, Roma, both lost key pieces from their roster.
@@pathegreat3727 He is not good enough for Serie A. He wanted to move and said as much in the off season. I think playing poorly against a team not even in MLS is evidence of that.
@@kidbrown2010 he was always the bridesmaid in Juventus…. playing behind high-salaried stars like Ronaldo, Vlahovic, etc…. Now that I think about it he’d fit in playing for either Roma or Lazio at Stadio Olimpico. Again they’ve lost important pieces and could use a playmaker.

There should be a promotion/relegation playoffs between the second division in north america like the (CPL or USL) and the MLS.This would motivate the players and make the league stronger.

To be honest, I was impressed by Bernadeschi, he really put a lot of effort into running for the ball. It certainly didn’t seem to me like he wasn’t trying or caring.

It'll be TFC and Vancouver in the final. I'd expect a 2 or 3 goal win for Toronto in the return leg. The lower sides can give the MLS sides fits at home and even win, but generally falter away from home in an aggregate series.
I'd like to see Forge win, because that's the glory of having these Cup competitions, but usually, it's the MLS sides that reach the finals of these Cup competitions. Same deal with the US Open Cup, and Cup competitions world wide.
