i could cry for this band, in so many ways. Beauty follows Pearl jam where ever they go i only hope one day i follow them somewhere to witness the beauty for myself. Pearl jam... much respect
I love how Eddie looks happy when he's singing this song, you don't see him smile too often when he's performing, but he always sings with passion and that's what makes Pearl Jam who they are. Can't get enough of them! Can't wait till their new album either!
what i love about eddie and pearl jam is they can do the same song a million times and they can bring differant emotions and differant feel to the same song. not many bands can do that. it shows how layered their songs are
Corduroy was the first Pearl Jam song i heard all those years ago. Great song and great band. I'm British and feel that American bands are best! Before any of my fellow Brits castrate me for that comment i would like to say how much i love many Brit bands too so go easy on me!!!
i love eddie, i love your music enchants their band to me, in 2005 I have not been able to see them in Buenos Aires here, I hope to be able to do it in 2010 Eddie and its art, its voice, the true music, that beautiful to feel
time and time again i find myself coming back to watch this song on youtube, it's a great version and the melodic composition is genius. however, that said, i don't think it can possibly be better than the original. for me, this song is all about hurt, pain and anger, and the acoustic version simply doesn't capture these emotions as raw and as powerfully as the original.
phenomenally brilliant......i didnt even know there was an acoustic corduroy until now...it's brilliant...i think i like this slow acoustic version MUCH better than the original..
they really just succeed at everything they do. not one bad song! i remember the first time i heard '' alive'' comming out of the car speakers at my brother's graduation party in 92. and my first band covering it in 93. fucking tremendous band.
nice change....i am liking it...at first i wasn't sure, but it grows on you quickly. jeff on the upright is always great. what guitar is ed playing..its sweet. totally different song....same words totally different feeling...like it
I Was there too back in 96 in n ca, Incredible! they played 5 or 6 songs anyone out there who has the it Please should post the rest of the 96 bridge show Sometimes,Nothing, betterman, footsteps Post It If you got it thanks!

This is from Neil Young's Bridge School Benifit concert performed every fall at the SHORELINE AMPITHEATER in Mountain View CA. Eddie is a staple at the show
Bridge School 96. They also did it in 94 at the bridge but because of Jack this is the superior version. His percussion is what makes this version a thing of pure beauty.
@one4technique theres no one in the world except they know pain in some form. but not everyone has a way to release it in a beautiful form for others to enjoy
Jack is my favorite PJ drummer. That doesn't mean he knows, or bothered to learn/research/listen to anything that has to do with Tabla. Look up some tabla on here and see what it looks/sounds like. Then watch this video again. Tabla is nothing like bongos and you can hear/feel that the instant you lay hands on the heads. They don't even produce much sound the way he's hitting on them! I stand my statement that he plays tabla like someone playing a guitar with boxing gloves on.
I have to say that I've listened to this song far too many times and it's far from being one of my faves but this version here is A W E S O M E!!! The whole Bridge School '96 was awesome! "Did you just say I love you or I fuck you...it's hard to hear, you never know...just kidding!"
In this version the lyrics are even better, in my opinion: can't buy what I want because it's free, can't be what they want because I'm free, can't be what they want because... I'm supposed to be just fine, never to be trialed or be judged, I figure we'òò all be damned, left all alone like we began...
Pearl Jam did a similar acoustic version on the other night of this same Bridge School set of shows. I think it is superior, but someone stole my copy and i haven't found video. one big difference: after the line "this behavior's not unique" ed says, "not at all."
@gemxwave the studio version is not great, this is a different way of playin it! its brilliant! and this somg is always better live because theyalways put alot more energy into it
Are you kidding me? IT'S AN ACOUSTIC. If punch is volume or speed then NO it doesn't have as much. BUT IT HAS EMOTION, MAN. IT HAS HEAPS OF IT. Open your ears and LISTEN to the song for once, don't just hear it.
Pearl Jam... the best band today. Inspired, powerful and unique songs
This Corduroy version is simply brilliant. Can' t stop listening it
i could cry for this band, in so many ways.

amazing... no words thanks for sharing such a wonderful piece...

Adoro esta versão, conhecia ela a algum tempo já... Mas agora posso ver sempre!
Obrigado por postar!
Every time i hear this version, it seems better, so emotional, so real and complete. Truly inspired. Pearl jam are unsurpassable.
Agreed - I cannot get enough of this version of Corduroy!!

PJ forever
I love Corduroy, I could listen to it all day long.
uma banda que ficara para sempre como uma das melhores bandas de sempre.
Pearl jam
Wish they played this version of the song more often. Probably my favorite live PJ song. Pulled through a lot of hard times.
YAY!! best bridge school show ever and i was there!!!!

love this song...great version :-)
-"the waiting drove me mad...you're finally here and i'm a mess"
this bring back so many memories thanks!
Completely changes the tone of the song whilst keeping the original's bite.... fantastic
my favorite pearl jam song.... love the lyrics
Realmente esta música toca as nações!!!
viva a paz!!

great version...still have to see these boys...sigh..one day soon
Strange version of Corduroy(which is my favourite!), but I like it as well. PearlJam*never*disappoint!
"i don't wanna take what u can't give
i'd rather starve than eat your bread"
i love how he sings that
Such a wondeful version of this song!
One word:AWESOME!
Que perfeita essa versão. \o/

probably the most beautiful version of this song
it's on the Bridge School Recordings. Find it on iTunes.
It's evolution baby. I wouldn't say it sucks.
Take what you can get.
Viva Pearl Jam
From Bridge '96, AWESOME
una de las mejores de ellos
heard that this was his first show with the band! So if that is true then he was amazing!!
Love that version.
Pearl is like wine good and fine wine, the older the bettter!
Awesome song. My Eddie knows exactly how I feel.
Eddie, blessed to coincide with you in this life
i really love pearl jam... where will you comme to colombia? i'm stills wating....
such a kick ass version....yeah Jack!
just awesome
This song is great. it doesn't matter how you play it
this is love.
@pjfan143 You're right. I have that copy somewhere in a box in the attic, and I remember that part.
Yep, 1996 Bridge School. Only time that Corduroy has been performed in this arrangement. Brendan O'Brien is on keys I believe as well.
fenomenal..
grande versao desta magnifica musica
I think it's from the Bridge School Benefit. The year? No idea, but if I had to guess, I'd say somewhere around 96 with Jack Irons on drums.
that happened in San Francisco, at The Cow Palace, Dec 31st 1991!!!
where can i find this version of this song? by far the best i have heard.
Bridge School 96. They also did it in 94 at the bridge but because of Jack this is the superior version. His percussion is what makes this version a thing of pure beauty.
@MedicBarbie STP? I LOVE spanning tree protocol! No network loops for the big WIN! :D
How the f*** could 30 people not like this? Not possible in my mind..
great job!

It's very different, but so interesting at the same time
Wow, nice one.
espectacular
Hey cinnamon girl :) You rock haha
Nice. it's like they made Corduroy see the softer side of No Code. wish they'd play it like that more often, just to change things up a bit.
